Thought this might be an interesting thread topic :-)

You go first.

@Riverlee I signed up to a survey company when I was on maternity for a little extra money. It included everything from consumer research to tv shows. It didn’t outright say what it was but I’m a bit fan of the show and quickly recognised the format of the questions and it was confirmed when the questions came to air. I was a dick and purposely chose obscure answers like random Pacific Ocean islands for any geographic question 😆

Four years ago, I spent five weeks in a medically induced coma and had horrendous nightmares that I still remember vividly to this day. Some of the nightmares and dreams I had in that coma involved 'facts' about people which were SO realistic I still believe them to be true. One dream, rather than a nightmare, involved my female cousin being a vet. I still really really struggle to accept the fact that she isn't actually a vet.

My daughter was born at 22 weeks and survived.

As a young teen I shook hands with Rolf Harris and got his autograph before it was public knowledge that he was a predator.

I've had about 30 rounds of ECT.

I was once accused of a crime at work which I absolutely had not done. I abandoned my entire career in that field because of it even though I'd spent ten years studying at college and university for it.

My partner boob bumped Barbara Windsor in a theatre. My partner is only 5'9" but Ms Windsor was TINY....

I met Frances Quinn (GBBO winner) in a toilet queue.

I had a letter published in the tv times about Percy Sugden's (Corrie) budgie. 🤣🤣

I won a 50cc bike worth £2000 from CD:UK.

I had only entered because usually you got signed goodies from the different bands on that week. They didn't do that this time and I "just" got the bike.

Ant and Dec also didn't read my name out the following week like every other other winner. I still have a grudge against them for that and it's been over 20 years. Grin

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 26/03/2022 12:32

At the age of 43, I still have two of my 'baby teeth' intact in my gums.

NewYearCalavicci · 26/03/2022 12:43

I have met lots of well known singers / bands through work some were really nice some were utter gits , in particular Erasure's Andy Bell was a real gent , so was Gary Moore ( RIP).

I also looked after a horse belonging to a very famous City footballer , him and his wife were really nice and were happy to muck in ( and out ) the horse and help others out .

I am not a dwarf, but have disproportionally short limbs.

No blouses or trousers fit me and due to my long back, petite sizes don't fit me either.

Might you have Turner Syndrome?

Nope. No syndrome or condition. Just a quirk of nature.

@anonnickname can I ask how you felt about it?was it good for you to be moved so far away? Because otherwise this must have been enormously hard.
Teaforme123 · 26/03/2022 13:00

I sometimes get a feel that a certain scenario will happen. Eg, window being smashed or somebody will do something like forget the cake at a party. Bizarrely they come true.

I also associate most words and names with a food. I can't 'taste' them but they make me think of something edible.

bottleofbeer · 26/03/2022 13:02

I've got space and time synaesthesia too.

I bombed my science GCSEs but now have MSc after my name.

My brother once casually mentioned that two years earlier he was caught up in a bank robbery. Like, why have you never mentioned this? But that is just totally like him. I laughed so hard I nearly wet myself.

Scoose · 26/03/2022 13:10

I'm an identical twin

Justanotherobserver · 26/03/2022 13:21

I was once in slapping distance of David Cameron. It was tempting.

WombatBlue · 26/03/2022 14:12

@autienotnaughty have a google of "aphantasia" - I have it too, to a certain degree, and what you're saying rings so true to it

Downtherefordancing · 26/03/2022 14:19

(Showing my age here) … I was on Cheggers Plays Pop back in the day. I was in the yellow team and we lost.

Cheggers was a lovely man and I still remember him jumping on our coach before we set off, and having a chat with us and thanking us for coming :)

zukiecat · 26/03/2022 14:20

I've met Sir George Pinker, in my parents very ordinary home.

He was a friend of my Aunt and Uncle.

From what I remember (was very young) he was a lovely man.

That's really interesting I've never really had an issue with it as I've never know differently it's only when I mention it to other people I realised it's not the norm. I do dream though and see images that way. It's strange because I'm really day dreamy but it's thoughts not images. I'm also autistic so don't know if there's a link.

whimsicalwillow · 26/03/2022 14:31

I walked on my broken left foot for 3 weeks before being persuaded to see a dr. I hadn't wanted to make a fuss as I thought it was just badly bruised and swollen.

PenguinPup · 26/03/2022 15:53

I was in a vet's waiting room and Liz Hurley came in with her dog. Even in everyday clothes and hardly any make up she still looked stunning. She had a gorgeous dog too!

Which Charity lost out on the jackpot and how much was the prize they missed out on?

junglejane66 · 26/03/2022 16:53

I saw Lord Lucan in Sainsbury's 5 years after he disappeared

dizzydizzydizzy · 26/03/2022 17:35

@autienotnaughty

I can not see clear images in my head. I can occasional get a flash like a photo but I can't hold on to it.

I also don't recognise people when I see them in different settings. (This doesn't happen with my immediate family and closest friends) So for example my next door neighbour of 7 years who I have seen almost daily, been to their house parties, put a fence up with. I didn't recognise him when I saw him in the pub literally no clue. The worst is other mums from school, I can know their name, child's name, have chatted many times but if I see them in the shop no clue who they are. Makes me feel really rude and people never understand.

I have this too @autienotnaughty
dizzydizzydizzy · 26/03/2022 17:46

@autienotnaughty not recognizing people is certainly linked to autism. My GP has referred me for an autism assessment partly due to this.
