If the world was full of clones of you

And no other humans. And more clones hatch every 9 months so you don't need to reproduce...

Would the world be a good place or doomed?

Ineedastyleicon · 20/03/2022 14:38

Omg, nothing would get done!
We would all irritate the hell out of each other!

PierresPotato · 20/03/2022 14:39

Doomed.

Milomonster · 20/03/2022 14:41

Wow what a great question!!
I think the world would be a kind, quirky, aloof world. There would be little creativity like production of music and art, as I’m rubbish at creating but have an extremely deep appreciation of both. We’d talk to strangers and lead a simple life.

crosbystillsandmash · 20/03/2022 14:43

The world would be incredibly tidy and full of vegetarians.

PutinsMicropenis · 20/03/2022 14:44

I think it would be OK. I'm quite a fixer/thinker/doer so the species would survive but they would all tend to be a bit of a loner and solitary in their outlook - so lots of grumpy women spread out in their single homes dotted around the countryside. Probably tending their animals but not overly bothered about the other clones and definitely getting annoyed when more hatch and also need homes!

KohlaParasaurus · 20/03/2022 14:45

It would be a pleasant and co-operative world, but quite boring, and everything would be done just well enough rather than to a high standard so it would get grubby and cluttered over time.

kennelmaid · 20/03/2022 14:46

The world would be vegan, my idea of heaven. No exploitation, all living in harmony with nature. Couldn't be arsed to go and gather food and can't cook anyway so we'd all starve and the planet would be left to the animals. Result!

Time40 · 20/03/2022 14:46

There would be no violence or crime and everything would look much prettier ... but there would probably be a desperate shortage of make-up, nail varnish and earrings, as demand would be so high.

belimoo · 20/03/2022 14:49

Great question! There would be no wars that's for sure.

Everything would stay as it is, nicely ticking over but no big advances or changes in tech etc would happen. Not sure whether that's such a terrible thing...

Cats would live an (even more) fabulous life.

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/03/2022 14:50

Socially pretty good. People would be fed, housed, looked after.

Within six months every detail-oriented system would fail. Power plants to the internet.

If we could have clones of DH and I, we'd be awesome. A bleeding heart and an engineer? Couldn't lose.

TheWeeDonkey · 20/03/2022 14:50

I can't make a decision to save my life so nothing would get done, but there would be lots of tea breaks and chocolate....always chocolate.

Joystir59 · 20/03/2022 14:51

There would be practical DIY type jobs piling up until we all pulled our socks up and started tackling them. Otherwise the world would be quite a happy creative quirky peaceful place with lots of healthy food being cooked and loads of chocolate being consumed. Nothing would happen after late afternoon as we'd all run out of steam then. Lots of TV would get watched.

waterlego · 20/03/2022 14:52

It would be a very tidy, orderly and kind place where everyone would give each other plenty of space and mind their own business. But I’m not convinced it would be terribly productive. We wouldn’t be able to do any science, technology or engineering type jobs or be able to fix anything 😕 But we would have some lovely dinners and be good at supporting each other, especially during difficult times.

AgnesNaismith · 20/03/2022 14:53

Messy 90% of the time, beautiful and clean 10%. I imagine it to be a bit like the film the invention of lying as I’m unable to lie!

Doomed

JacktomyDaniel · 20/03/2022 14:53

Morally good. Financially ruined.

LightSpeeds · 20/03/2022 14:54

Good... eventually... after some arguing. It would be a very cakey world.

Phlewf · 20/03/2022 14:55

I’d have no idea because everyone would actively avoiding each other so wouldn’t notice. And when systems started to fail they’d just ignore it and hope it went away (so internet is out, read books, electric goes out, burn candles and go to bed early, no more petrol ride my bike) until they died from a preventable illness. I’m not a bad person but I 100% need other people to expect something from me or nothing would happen.

Maireas · 20/03/2022 14:56

@crosbystillsandmash

The world would be incredibly tidy and full of vegetarians.
Same here! Also everything would be ironed. No creases on anything.
WeDontShutUpAboutBruno · 20/03/2022 14:56

It would be awesome.

We would all stay in our homes and craft all day.

On the rare occasions we went out we would have minimal social niceties, do what we had to, and then get back to our crafts.

No wars, no drama, everyone equal.

It would be bliss 😂😂

WallaceinAnderland · 20/03/2022 14:58

We would all die of starvation as I can't grow enough to support myself and presumably neither would anyone else.

girlmom21 · 20/03/2022 14:58

Doomed. I'm a bit of a dickhead.

Papayamya · 20/03/2022 14:59

Doomed! If it was full of my DH though it would be fine, I am biased hah but he is a good balance of being intelligent, practical, athletic and caring so he'd be able to get involved in a fair bit I expect.

Giggorata · 20/03/2022 15:06

Doomed. Few practical things would get done because everyone would get caught up in art projects or reading. Or just gazing out of the window.
There would be lots of libraries and theatres and no wars, but soon everything would need to be mended or tidied up.

Justanotherobserver · 20/03/2022 15:07

There would be no dresses or high heels, just comfortable trousers (with pockets) and shoes and nice things to wear on top. No one would ever have to wear a bra. There would be flowers absolutely everywhere. The cottages, for that's where we'd live, would all have little spaces for birds to roost in. Mainly, it would be quiet and peaceful.

AllKnowingGerbil · 20/03/2022 15:09

But it would be multiples of YOU acting into the theatres @Giggorata. Maybe that's good in your world, but lots of me acting would be awful!! Grin
