Another daily project

Last year there was a lovely long running thread about doing one thing a day that you've been putting off, or just to enjoy the cumulative effect of one extra daily 'thing'.
I'd like to start again, if anyone would like to join me.

Today, I have pulled out a drawer of a little used bureau cabinet, got rid of what is junk, and wiped the drawer out and organised what's left a bit more neatly.

I did my underwear drawer today

Well done
I am doing my dresser in my kitchen.
It is long overdue
I have friends coming for lunch in Friday and I don't want them to see what a midden it was

I’ve done some work on my family tree today. And I’ve done some more knitting - the baby blanket. Which doesn’t sound like too much, but I slept in massively this morning - Mondays wear me out, and I sleep like the dead on Tuesday mornings. I daren’t even tell you how late I woke up today - you will judge me so hard! Blush

PierresPotato · 26/04/2022 22:26

No judging here.
Keep on trucking🚛.

Aria999 · 26/04/2022 22:42

Got my watch battery replaced.

Booked a company to remove the squirrels and (as it turns out) raccoons from inside the roof

Thelnebriati · 27/04/2022 00:14

I cleared out the kitchen junk and sold it on ebay, I made enough money to buy a halogen air fryer!

Aria999 · 27/04/2022 00:28

Way to go @Thelnebriati 😊

SpringLobelia · 27/04/2022 05:54

Morning all. :)

I have had a quiet few days. But I have started looking into ('sourcing' in lifestyle magazine-speak) hallway runners. I.e. crusiing the interwebs. I think I may have found what I am after on the Dunelm website so today;s task is to nip in on my lunhcbreak to see if they have it IRL as well.

And a good morning to you! I am not so 'solo' sunrise! 😃
Sourcing always amuses me too. Makes a bit of scrolling so so grand!
Hope you find your runner!

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius nope, no judging from here either (I'm always up before it's light but I go to bed embarrassingly early!)

Same re going to bed embarrassingly early. My DH jokes that I have gone through my life not even knowing there is a second 9 oclock in the day!

EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter · 27/04/2022 07:37

Ah definitely my people! Bed at 8 and up at 4! 😂

my projects have gone to shit but if Amazon bring my cold frame today, I can get the sweet peas out of my kitchen and into the garden. Then all of us will be happy.

ive got a good handful of “smug” drying days ahead of me which is just as well because since I’ve stopped using the tumble dryer, the depth of the washing basket appears to have multiplied.

Peridot1 · 27/04/2022 08:28

Morning all

Great result @Thelnebriati. That’s what I call a clear out!

I didn’t quite sort my underwear and socks drawers yesterday but I did sort out T-shirts and vest tops.

Lots to do today. Another trip to M&S to return bras I bought. Then back to finish packing, charge all my tech, get up to date on washing and be ready to go by 6. Then I am off to Australia for a month.

I will have a very long list with f things to do when I get back!

Gufo · 27/04/2022 09:48

Today's task was a check up for a medical condition. I dread it every year but it was fine! YAY. Need to hang washing out but it's gone from sunny to very grey.

Thelnebriati · 27/04/2022 12:23

Congratulations Gufo!

Its flippin freezing here, I was going to do some gardening. I think we have rats. Very Old Ddog would be scandalised if he were still with us!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 27/04/2022 13:34

I actually managed to get up at just gone 10.30 today! <<faints>> I had to, because dh went down to London for the day, and that was the latest I felt I could leave the dogs alone downstairs.

Thank you for your kind words, @Solosunrise and @PierresPotato. @SpringLobelia - between us we cover both the 9 o clocks in the day - which strikes me as very efficient. We don't need both of us present for both of them - lol.

I haven't achieved much yet today, apart from a shower, but there is more knitting to be done this afternoon.

Grin I like the idea of the pair of us being very efficient very much!

I did not get to Dunelm yesterday, but hopefully today.

have a great day everyone.

Yesterday was a bit crazy, trying to empty dc1's room for decorating this weekend.
Today I'm going to phone a riding school to see what they do for half term. I'm not a horsey person and I suspect the dc's want to do it once and never again!

FoolShapeHeart · 28/04/2022 21:34

We've had a perfect storm of rubbishness recently but I'm getting back on track. This week I've made half of our dentist and optician appointments, ordered new glasses, scheduled one set of recurring appointments for the rest of the calendar year, downgraded my caffeine habit, bought some greenhouse vegetable plants and returned to walking a bit more to help my mental health (brain is overwhelmed). I'm slowly catching up on the washing and have done a big shop to keep the (imaginary) larder topped up. I hope to garden at least a little over the weekend.

Speaking as a horsey person, I shall cross my fingers that they hate it, otherwise your time and bank balance will never again be your own 😂

Morning all! @Peridot1 I hope you have a wonderful time!

Have any of the other larks gone to sleep early and then been woken out of a deep sleep (noisy neighbours etc) thinking it must be morning, to discover it's about half past ten?

Ah @FoolShapeHeart I have an easily overwhelmed brain too! Can I recommend the Michael Mosely podcast called Just One Thing? Episodes are only 15 mins or so, and each episode focuses on an easy thing to help with healthy habits. I've found it very useful Flowers

So impressed with all your achievements everyone!

Yesterday I made it to a salvation army drop off point (bin in tesco carpark!) with some -ahem- outgrown clothes, and to the foodbank with some tins that were on rotation in my larder (all well in date, we just keep a rolling stock in case of trouble)

Today I need to get to the tip as binmen strike round here from Monday and we don't know if the tip will close too

Morning! Things have been very slow around my way. But today i need to enquire about a prescription request that seems to have gone missing and also want to book a haircut. DH has done what i consider to be a great job on my hair lately, but I need a trim.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 29/04/2022 07:02

can i join
i wrapped dd's present ready to post today, been putting off for a few days but it takes weeks to arrive

RunningKatie · 29/04/2022 17:12

I have collected my new knickers today! And it's a bank holiday weekend!

No luck so far on the horse riding front @Solosunrise - I hate making calls and waiting for them to call back.
Tonight I'm hoping to do some mending whilst nodding off in front of Gardeners World.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/04/2022 20:03

Dh and I spent some time today putting the photos from ds1’s wedding into the album, and he’s been to the framers to get a quote for framing the pictures for the wall, and the embroidery I’ve done for them.

my plan for the next few weeks is to go through the conservatory (aka the yarn storage box) and sort it all into yarn I’m keeping, rubbish, and donations - the knitting group I go to can have first dibs on anything I’m donating, and we meet right next door to a charity shop, so they can have what’s left. I’d love the conservatory to become a room I can use, and feel happy in - but I think it is going to take me ages, because I get exhausted so quickly.
