Another daily project

Last year there was a lovely long running thread about doing one thing a day that you've been putting off, or just to enjoy the cumulative effect of one extra daily 'thing'.
I'd like to start again, if anyone would like to join me.

Today, I have pulled out a drawer of a little used bureau cabinet, got rid of what is junk, and wiped the drawer out and organised what's left a bit more neatly.

@clpsmum I am terrible at that. I start to feel guilty and / or can't decide what to do first!

mathanxiety · 23/04/2022 03:54

I got the desk cleared and cleaned and got rid of a good deal of old paperwork.

Solosunrise · 23/04/2022 06:22

Morning all! I'm delighted with my active threads since hiding boards that stress me (not blaming the boards, just the fact that I end up thinking about hypothetical situations all day, or get invested in things that dint concern me) I'm seeing threads that wouldn't have made it to active, and what with the new look, I feel I have a whole new MN 😃

Working all day today, but I have cleared a 'hotspot' already, so am feeling smug and it's barely even morning, so a good start to the day!
Have a great day everyone 💥

I’ve dropped right off mn due to the annoying errors since the upgrade. Also, I know if/when I spend too much time on mn it affects my mh.

early starts are the best solo !

today I’m going to phone the bike shop so I can get my eldest’s bike in for a service. The benefit of the new job - when I do my day at the office I can run a myriad of errands. 😂

Peridot1 · 23/04/2022 07:53

That’s a good idea @Solosunrise. I might try the same. I waste far too much time reading rubbish on here!

My guests leave this afternoon. Been lovely having them but I’ll be glad when they leave. Mainly so DH can go back into his bedroom and leave me in mine. I ended up down on the sofa last night as he was snoring.

Today’s jobs will be changing DH’s bed so he can move back in, cleaning the main bathroom and clearing the fridge out a bit. And possibly some ironing. But possibly not!

Peridot1 · 23/04/2022 07:54

I’m not liking the MN update either. A benefit will be that I spend less time on here I hope.

SpringLobelia · 23/04/2022 08:33

Morning. Not alot achieved here as had a tricky few days. Today I need to wash the Dcs school blazers. I meant to do it when they were on holiday but it went clean out of my mind. I think there are a few paint stains that will not be shifted though.

Hope everyone has a great day.

RunningKatie · 23/04/2022 08:49

I am not keen on the update either, I keep getting errors with it.
Weekend and I'm trying to make plans but the family aren't fully cooperative yet!

DinosaurRenaissance · 24/04/2022 08:43

Morning. Yesterday I finally got around to ordering some much needed new knickers and socks and today's job will be to go through the existing lot and get rid of all the ones that need chucking, which is far too many. I have a tendency to hold on to holey socks and knickers with no elastic left.

I love this project!!
I find such inspiration in this thread Flowers

I have finished the embroidery I’m doing for ds1 and his wife, to mark their wedding, and cast on a baby blanket for my grandchild, who arrives in the summer.

RunningKatie · 24/04/2022 15:01

I've finished a book. Tried to sort some toys out to sell. We seem to be missing a fair amount of tiny pieces from sets so I'm not sure it's worth the hassle.

SpringLobelia · 24/04/2022 15:23

I've lost inspiration today. But I did take the Dcs swimming and have washed their blazers. Now some ironing and gentle and sedate housework so the remainder of the day is not wasted and perhaps the film The Impossible with Naomi Watts which I love.

Peridot1 · 25/04/2022 08:42

Morning all.

Love that project @DinosaurRenaissance. I could do with doing that.

Yesterday I did lots of washing, stripped two beds, remade one, did some of my admin for my trip to Australia and started getting things together to pack.

Today it’s more washing, general clean and vacuum, post a package, sort more clothes for packing, put Easter decorations away. Also have an appointment for eyebrow tinting and general waxing and need to go to M&S to change some joggers.

DinosaurRenaissance · 25/04/2022 13:22

@Solosunrise @Peridot1 I've been meaning to do it for ages. I went abroad for a couple of days last weekend, and realised when packing just how many shoddy pairs of underwear I had, and decided enough was enough!

Today's job has been to repot a lemon tree. If the weather holds and the baby allows I might get a rose done too, but we'll see.

RunningKatie · 25/04/2022 20:36

Evening all! Busy day today, but have booked a hair appointment for dc1.
And written a stupid list of stuff to do on my next day off.

mathanxiety · 26/04/2022 04:26

Took in plants I had put out on the deck on Sunday as it's set to freeze tonight.

Solosunrise · 26/04/2022 07:13

Hello all! Today I plan to clear our tiny hallway of coats and shoes. And give it all a thorough clean.

@RunningKatie I also plan to write a to do list, as I have a lot more to achieve around the place than can get done with one little project a day Blush

@Peridot1 you are a very busy bee!

I hope everyone is ok this lovely sunny morning.
I'm very impressed with the things you are all doing, especially those of you with young families Flowers

Too busy for my liking @Solosunrise! But it will be worth it when I get in the plane tomorrow night!

i took a leaf out of your book yesterday @DinosaurRenaissance and bought some new underwear and socks. Now need to do the clear out bit. And return the bras I bought which don’t fit quite right.

I’m off to the hairdresser this morning and then back later to carry on with washing and sorting for my trip. Slight interruption of plans yesterday as our power went off mid afternoon and didn’t come back till around 9.30 last night.

namechangeanonymous · 26/04/2022 10:54

Really like this idea, I'm 7 months pregnant and off work at the moment as a bit unwell but I feel so lazy just sat on the sofa all day.
Today, I am going to tidy at least one draw in my kitchen and make a start of washing my living room blankets.

DinosaurRenaissance · 26/04/2022 11:01

@Peridot1 The clear out but was very satisfying. Do it!

I'm moving on to vest tops today. I know there's at least four in the drawer with small holes in. I need to have a proper look through as none of them have been worn since early spring last year, as I've been either pregnant or bf since then.

Other jobs this morning were to send back some lovely dresses that were all too long or large, and buy birthday cards for May ahead of time so they actually arrive on time, instead of my usual last minute dash.

RunningKatie · 26/04/2022 11:09

Collected school uniform order.
I also stood and looked at knickers in M&S but ours is a small branch and they don't have the ones I like. Inspired by this thread I am going to order some! 😁

DinosaurRenaissance · 26/04/2022 14:02

clear out bit*, obviously!

Solosunrise · 26/04/2022 18:21

I did my underwear drawer today
