Another daily project

Last year there was a lovely long running thread about doing one thing a day that you've been putting off, or just to enjoy the cumulative effect of one extra daily 'thing'.
I'd like to start again, if anyone would like to join me.

Today, I have pulled out a drawer of a little used bureau cabinet, got rid of what is junk, and wiped the drawer out and organised what's left a bit more neatly.

This is a good idea, I'm joining is as well. You've inspired me!
Yesterday I sewed three buttons back on 3 pairs of trousers that have been waiting - for a while shall we say?
Today, I sewed a patch on another pair of trousers to cover up a torn worn out lining.
This can only get better..!

SpringLobelia · 20/04/2022 15:44

Hello!

Today I moved a sofa from one room to another room. Getting into the other room meant I had to move my chest of drawers. Moving the chest of drawers meant I had to empty them because they were too heavy. That meant I then went through them and put some clothes in the throw away pile and some in the charity shop pile. It was like the old lady who ate the fly then swallowed a spider.

Exhausted now!

mathanxiety · 20/04/2022 18:14

Joining in - I have to clean up the PC/ printer desk and its drawer of doom.

Solosunrise · 20/04/2022 18:54

Hello all! All our completed tasks add up, don't they?!
Cat meds collected - tick
Geraniums planted - tick
Smug dinner made from the dregs in the salad/veg drawer and a frozen pork steak....tasty 😊

This morning, I've sorted out a cupboard full of bags for life, signed up DD for an after-school club and applied for a new passport. Still not got anything listed on Vinted though!

RobinOnTheTable · 21/04/2022 10:38

Feeling virtuous! 😎(It won't last!)
Trip to recycling, then dropped off a couple of bags at the charity shop.
Batch cooked and frozen a dozen meals for when term starts
Tidied stationery box and have cards ready for people for the rest of the year.
Cleared out airing cupboard and bagged up old towels for donating to animal rescue.
Emptied boot of odds and ends that gather there and vacuumed out car
Topped up car windscreen water.

Need a rest now 💤

RunningKatie · 21/04/2022 11:14

Finally got through to the dentist, took over 40 attempts.
Today I need to order school trousers and see if I can find my P60 from last year.

DinosaurRenaissance · 21/04/2022 11:49

May I join? I have a five month old and since having her I don't seem to get a lot done...

Today we got the garden table and chairs out of the garage and onto the patio. We've been meaning to do it for a couple of weeks but it involves moving the car and the wheelie bins outside, and shifting a few things around inside the garage to get it out. I'm going to go and sit out there shortly with a cup of tea to celebrate!

muchprefersummer · 21/04/2022 12:02

I've tidied around the pond and trimmed some shrubs. My DS has re-homed and fed his two new pet snails.Hmm

Aria999 · 21/04/2022 20:36

Booked a service for the car.

Booked some squirrel removal people to address the scrabbling noises in the room.

Made soup.

Filled in a school form.

(I took the afternoon off work).

Aria999 · 21/04/2022 20:37

Roof, not room. Lol. 🐿

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/04/2022 20:39

I really like this idea. I have long covid and I’m permanently exhausted, but today I’ve managed to plot the layout for the wording in the centre of the embroidery I’ve done for Ds1 and his wife, who got married in February. I hope that counts.

RunningKatie · 21/04/2022 21:20

No sign of the P60, I have no idea where I'll have filed it if it's not under Tax for Tax or with all my payslips.
I've ordered school trousers and shorts though, and emailed school about a hospital appointment.

EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter · 22/04/2022 07:59

gufo I’m doing GREAT with Vinted.

oh. You mean sorting stuff and listing it … not buying a myriad of stuff I don’t need. Right.

ive washed and will smug-dry a couple of very heavy winter bed throws and put them away for next winter.

the weather is being an absolute twat. North of Scotland, heating off and its roasting (recollections may vary) - but you know the second I carry my seedlings over the threshold the blizzards will arrive.

the sun was shining on my oven door last night. It was not a pretty sight. So that’s today’s task.

Peridot1 · 22/04/2022 08:15

Morning everyone. Not been on for a few days as family arrived to stay on Monday and it’s been full on since.

There seems to be lots of jobs being done by everyone on the thread.

They go out for the day on their own today so I have a catch up day. And they leave tomorrow so normal service will resume I hope.

I did manage to strip and wash DS’s bedding yesterday so will remake his bed today.

Kitchen needs a good clean and I need to vacuum downstairs.
Also need to do some washing.

My extra task is to start a wardrobe clearout of my clothes. And start to sort what I’m taking to Australia next week.

Gufo · 22/04/2022 08:16

Today's task is going through a load of the DC's exercise books and recycling as many as I can while they are at school. They want to keep them all, but think scattered over the garage floor is a suitable location.

Weather an absolute knob here too.

lifesabitchandthenyoudie · 22/04/2022 08:40

Good morning everyone! I have lurked on this thread for a few days and found I was joining in so I thought I'd be smug let you all know 😎.

Yesterday after work I managed to move a few Bergonias in the garden from one spot to another... they will hopefully kill the zombie grass there and make it possible to plant some herbs in the spot in a few years' time... THEN I watered them in AND I watered the magnolia we planted over Molly who we lost last month (ddog). THEN I washed 'her' bed, which will dry today ready to put in the attic. I also had to cook, so I took everything I could find that needed using (veg) and chucked it in the oven with some pasta sauce for an hour - was delicious and will feed us for a week today.

Feeling very productive. I have mild ME so often struggle to have motivation and ability, but doing little bits seems to be working so thank you! (also reading about other people with too much to do helps me feel less of a slob)

EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter · 22/04/2022 08:49

I hope it’s not just because we’re lazy mutton. Life is a never-ending series of tasks —which will mostly disappear when the kids leave— . I’m autistic and get hyper-focused on personal projects - so it’s very easy for me to simply “not see” the tasks that need doing. Nae regrets!

well I’ve done the oven-door already. Best 50p I ever spent - paid the kids to YouTube a how-to-remove-the-oven-door-without-smashing-it.

RunningKatie · 22/04/2022 09:02

Nearly the weekend! I've added more to my list today, but am going to order some trainers as a job done for me.
And before we go full-on Mother Hubbard I need to sort food shop out.

Thelnebriati · 22/04/2022 13:26

I've decided to learn one new recipe a week, this week it was falafels and pomegranete dressing. It was the first time I've been able to make them without them disintegrating in the pan. And I bought my first microwave.

That's an excellent project. I'm going to steal 😎

I've just hidden the AIBU topic and the 30/90 day ones.
I'm feeling quite smug about that. Now I can lurk and post on threads like this and not get sucked into mindless scrolling of things I don't want to read.

@EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter oops sorry, I never intended to infer that anyone on here is lazy mutton! I meant I often berate myself for being too lazy, myself; but seeing that others struggle with similar things makes me realise it is just life, we all try our best and often manage more than we realise! Absolutely nae regrets! xx

Aria999 · 22/04/2022 18:03

Today I got the cracked toilet replaced with an uncracked one.

clpsmum · 22/04/2022 18:18

Today I had a total "me" day it was great
