Another daily project

Last year there was a lovely long running thread about doing one thing a day that you've been putting off, or just to enjoy the cumulative effect of one extra daily 'thing'.
I'd like to start again, if anyone would like to join me.

Today, I have pulled out a drawer of a little used bureau cabinet, got rid of what is junk, and wiped the drawer out and organised what's left a bit more neatly.

Oh well done TheInebriati, that will pay dividends in a few short weeks.

PierresPotato · 04/04/2022 19:04

I have no jobs to do outside of recuperating from an op.
But I do have to phone to make a physio appointment this week. So I'll make that my job tomorrow.

SpringLobelia · 04/04/2022 19:13

Hi- fell off the thread.

I have not done alot around the house. But I got DS1 to the Special Dentist who specialises in disabled children and adults and that was amazing. We have been referred to a dietician for his food issues and an orthodontist and we have another appointment for Friday to start the process of a fair amount of remedial work. They were so professional and lovely and warm that I cried a bit in the car.

Been watching for a while and I finally managed to do some things today!

Had my hair cut (1st time in a year)
Changed our bed and the bathroom towels
Pulled together numbers for the tax return
Turned round two loads of laundry

Burnt0utMum · 05/04/2022 07:30

Did barely anything yesterday as just couldn't motivate myself. I think it's because the kids are off now for Easter and it was enough just to keep them entertained while I worked.

I'm off today and we're going to an Easter Egg hunt. The weather is awful though so we're expecting to get muddy. My project later will probably be cleaning the mud from everywhere!

Solosunrise · 05/04/2022 07:52

Morning all! Hope you're doing ok @PierresPotato Flowers

Well done @SpringLobelia! It's always lovely to find kind and supportive people. Not surprised you had a little cry ♥️

Enjoy your mudbath @Burnt0utMum. Sounds like you have your hands full Flowers

Everyone is doing so well by the sounds of it. I love reading all your successes!

I am about to take advantage of the mild and damp conditions to prepare some borders in the garden today. Gardening is out of my comfort zone and I never know how or where to start, but I've found digging implements and I have compost, so I'm on it for once Smile

Hi all

@SpringLobelia - that sounds really great. Not surprised you were weepy.

I got lots done yesterday. Have arranged a furniture collection from my Dads house in Dublin for Friday and also booked to get the oven cleaned. Booked to get waxed and my eyebrows tinted before I go to Australia. Did lots of laundry. Cleaned the kitchen. Vacuumed. Posted some letters that were hanging around.

Not quite so productive today as I didn’t sleep too well so went back to bed after the dog got me up. I’ve walked said dog, went to garden centre with DH for new pots to plant a herb garden, stripped spare bed and have almost packed for travelling tomorrow. Need to book hair appointment too for before I go away.

petalpower · 05/04/2022 16:48

Busy couple of days but I didn’t get chance to post yesterday. Extras yesterday were hoovering my filthy car and planting some sweet pea seeds in the greenhouse. Today’s extras were picking up my prescription, stripping and washing DS’s bedlinen, buying plant supports at the garden centre and sending a parcel and birthday card and present at the post office. Also labelled my aunt’s new clothes ready to take when I visit I her at her nursing home tomorrow. She has Alzheimer’s and I have lasting power of attorney for her so buy and organise anything she needs.

Has anyone seen @EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter since their big night out?

RunningKatie · 05/04/2022 21:02

Evening!
Today I've scrubbed the shower and put the bin out.
Still trying to do a big tidy up, got the dc to go through a few toys. It's a small start.

Solosunrise · 05/04/2022 21:29

I've dug some borders over today! And I have found some pots to plant things in. I'm going to give them a clean tomorrow, then fill them with fresh compost. Thursday I intend to buy some plants - geraniums maybe?
I'm quite excited 😊

I scrubbed the shower tray too @RunningKatie and put the main bin out. DH was complaining that the shower tray seemed slippy which I think was from DD being home from uni and using lots of hair products!

FoolShapeHeart · 05/04/2022 23:20

Today I did laundry & dishes, rearranged part of a cupboard and cleared the dining table (into a box to sort later 😆). Small progress is still progress!

SpringLobelia · 06/04/2022 07:32

Morning! WFH today and both Dcs have friends over so i am anticipating that there will be alot of gaming interspersed with me throwing pizzas in the oven. Thankfully I have no zoom meetings scheduled as could be noisy!

I have not seen @EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter for a few days. I am on another thread with her as well. Hope she is fine.

Not sure if I can manage a project but if i can it might be around replanting some pots.

RunningKatie · 06/04/2022 08:21

Was @EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter starting a new job this week? I hope it's going well.
I've got up super early today, left everyone in bed and I'm on a train. Actually reading a book!

EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter · 06/04/2022 08:41

Hello! I’m absolutely fine. The big night out was amazing although I may have “peaked early” due to having no ability to hold my drink these days. 😂 but it was wonderful to be out for a slice of normality for the first time in years. I heard people coming home about 3/4 am - proper hardcore!

Started the new job and it’s easy-peasy although I don’t want my work/home to be encroached and right now it’s all on the dining table. So it will probably be a project that I move the tumble dryer well out of the way (who can afford to run them?) and create an office space under the stairs. Not ideal - but my home is my home.

Projects have gone slowly, I’ve planted more seeds but nothing can go outside yet as it’s still been snowing here. I’m running out of window sill space and my cat is an arsehole who thinks it’s hilarious to send pots flying.

PierresPotato · 06/04/2022 10:57

@Solosunrise I'm getting along very well, thank you.
I'm off normal housework but my special project today was cleaning the bedroom blinds. I rarely do them though I wipe the windowsills as a matter of course. So in doing those I was there already with a damp cloth and did the slats for something to do that didn't involve lifting or bending!
I've taken to reading actual books too @RunningKatie!

SpringLobelia · 06/04/2022 12:59

[waves to everyone]

Children are gaming. I have decanted the cats dreamies into a kilner jar as they live on the hall table usually. That's all I will manage today (I had to go and buy the kilner jar though). :)

Solosunrise · 06/04/2022 17:07

Hello! Great things happening upthread Smile
Blowing a hoolie and raining today so pots can wait. Work was busy and bit knackered so small project. At least I haven't been around to make a mess at home!
Just changed our bedding, and dinner is on. I'm just off to declutter dining room a little, oh and I have to call about car insurance.

Best get on it!

Three cheers for all projecteers! A tiny project is still a project, and this is the anti burnout thread Flowers

Chased up a company about cancelling a subscription and menu planned as we have guests staying at the weekend and there will be lots of cooking and nice food involved. Also threw out a lasagne dish that was involved in an unfortunate accident last night.

SpringLobelia · 06/04/2022 19:23

I am exhausted after a day with 4 children gaming and shouting!

Tomorrow I am going to get a picture reframed. It has slipped out of alignment. Been like that for years but somehow when you look at it every day you don't notice.

SpringLobelia · 06/04/2022 19:26

Oh! And I planted 3 lavender plants. :) I overachieved today in the end!

Hope everyone has a lovely evening. Thanks

FoolShapeHeart · 06/04/2022 21:26

Changed bedding and, miracle of miracles, started listing clothes that have been waiting to be sold for a year or more. Maybe two years or more.

PierresPotato · 06/04/2022 21:44

Oh I love a miracle!
Here's to more tomorrow.

EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter · 07/04/2022 06:43

I love the pace of this thread in that overachieving means planting THREE things - rather than doing a hot yoga session before 12 hours at your VIP job before whipping up a dinner party for 18 of your closest friends.
