utin is isolating himself from his closest advisors and the footage of a meeting a few days ago where he savaged them on camera for not answering questions 'quickly enough' made him seem a bit more nutty than usual

There is small chance that one of those advisors will see the eventual outcome of Putin's crazy decision and do something. Someone has to step in.

They don't need to break it open. It is already being slowly and carefully dismantled and the radioactive material sorted.

Russia already have nuclear reactors and nuclear weapons. The radioactive material at Chernobyl isn't of any significant use to them.

Oh and it's only a 2.5/3hr drive from Chernobyl to Kyiv for context.

It is being reported by Swedish outlets that Europe consider it to be an act of war/aggression against Europe. It is clearly a severe act of war against Ukraine, that is obvious.
