Celeb scandals of the 90s

I'd forgotten all about Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland until I read this piece about it. And then wondered how I could've forgotten as it was huge! And those were the days before social media!

I never realised that Michelle Pfeiffer played a conciliatory role or that the wedding cake apparently spoke to a tabloid reporter!

What are some scandals you remember from that period? (I'm housebound with Covid - humour me!)

The Sun at its best!

The 90s really was the heyday of royal scandals. Harry and Meghan's antics are nothing compared to Fergie's toes, Diana's men or Tampax Charlie.

I think it was the viper room which was owned iirc by Johnny Depp.
I think Jason Donovan collapsed from drugs there as well in the 90s. And didnt he sue a magazine for saying he was gay.

@CheeseMuffin yes I think so! She did told the press or they somehow got wind of it, he flatly denied it and everyone believed him over her and then he admitted it! I remember reading all about it in Heat magazine!

Oh yeah, Jason Donovan sued The Face magazine! I'd forgotten about that. Think he was ill-advised on that one.

OJ Simpson? That's also when the first reports csme out about MJ.

This isn't really a scandal but I had tickets to a take that tour, and the papers had pics of the costumes they had for Relight My Fire and one of them had chaps with his bum cheeks out. My mum was absolutely appalled that that was what we were going to see!!

My mum was also apppaled by those newspaper pics and didn't want to let me watch them on TV. I was only 11 TBF !

When the Liz Hurley/Hugh Grant/Divine Brown scandal broke my parents went to a party and they Hugh and Liz were meant to be there but they didn't come but someone else told my mum that Liz was chucking the bed in a symbolic gesture as it was tainted.

I have such a memory for useless trash. I remember there was a series of photos in the tabloids of a new bed being delivered to their house.
