Daily Haiku

Hello!

Anyone else fancy a thread where we write and share a haiku daily?

I used to write a lot of haikus. I find they're a good mindfulness exercise 🙂

I've just started writing them again about my baby son but will try to branch out into other topics.

Here is one from last night. Distracting the boy with a toy boat while putting him in pajamas (he's a wriggler). Title in bold.

Tug Boat
A toy boat sailing
The blue ocean of your sheets
Night night tiny boy

Walking in the rain
My dog doesn't mind, in fact
Seeks out mud puddles

Another storm comes
Will it ever be springtime?
Bring it on, April.

@Greentomatoes21 how old is your boy by the way? Mine is 7m. Loves swimming 🙂

Tomorrow is for
Seeking out a willow tree
For a fallen branch

Small faces, clean hair
I hope they know my heart sings
My sweet, wild boys

Grocery sun breeze
I forgot the grated cheese

Aw 7 months, wonderful! Mine is nearly 16 months! Only recently found a decent pool to go to, hence so late!

Further to my recent swimming haiku...

Tried hard to escape!
Wriggly boy! I give up...
Pass me the armbands 🤣😅

Fuck you celery
so dull and yet so boring
like cheese strings but veg

Small boy never
Wants to sleep alone
I'll miss him when he's grown

Came over with drums
To make up for things, I guess
So much between us

Love how we get little snippets of each others lives! Really love this thread so much!

These are all fantastic- too many to name but they are all so different, with the same form.
