Strangest thing you have found embarrassing

I was waiting for a friend with a bunch of flowers for her. I found this so embarrassing for some reason! Something about standing on a street with a bunch of flowers. I also find having a baby bump cringe!

Listening to my own voice on a recording. Just kill me now and be done with it.

Also walking across a room of people to go to the toilet. They all know exactly where I'm going so I have to either hold it or go and try and do a silent pee because obviously they're all listening out for a fart or similar.

Sitting in the hairdressers looking in the mirror. I don't know where to look.
And when I was a child, trying shoes in the shop and the lady in the shop says "take a walk up and down, and see how they feel?" I felt so uncomfortable 😂

Someone singing to me, bonus cringe points if they have a guitar! I don't know why, just makes me die inside. Where do you look?! What do you say? Do you nod and smile? Do you tap your feet? Just piss off and let me be lonely 😩🤣 (and I mean even very talented singers, I just can't take it!)

1000% the leaving the cinema one, I think it's because you feel like you've been in the film and you're trying not to walk out too powerfully 😂😂

Also, when any song is playing out loud in public (or even through headphones) it's so hard not to walk in time to it and I always feel so embarrassed

Walking out of a hairdressers. Especially if it's quite a different cut. I usually wear a hat afterwards in case I bump into someone and they see it. Can't work out if its worse if they mention it or don't.

Oh god so many things. Pressing the button on the bus and then getting up to get off, carrying shopping down the street or loading/unloading it into a taxi, eating food alone somewhere public, walking round a shop and then leaving without buying anything, there's probably loads more I'll think of once I've posted this.
I have terrible anxiety which I think contributes to being embarrassed to do normal everyday things. I know in the rational part of my mind it's truly ridiculous and nobody is probably paying me any attention but I still can't help it.

Coming out of the hair dressers after a rough dry (don't wanna pay for them to make it look all bouffy like a I've just "stepped out of a salon"🤣) and walking home very briskly praying I won't see anyone I know en route!!

Getting up off the tram / bus when you're in the window seat and someone has to move to let you go past.

Also going into a small shop and not buying anything, I always think they think I've stolen something (I obviously never have!) so I often buy something small I don't really want. Yesterday I bought 5 mini bath bombs for £2.50 - I don't even like baths.

Sitting in the toilet cubicle trying not to make any noise, then one pops out when it's deadly quiet. Then waiting till the coast is clear before coming out in case you're spotted!

Saying “my husband “ when talking about him

I actually die inside if someone says hubbie… ughhhhh

Bumping into someone you know in a supermarket, greeting them and saying goodbye and then seeing them again in various aisles and probably the checkout tills!

I hate this too. In fact, a couple of times I’ve actually abandoned my shopping trip and gone home because I couldn’t face the horror of repeatedly bumping into the same person!

Walking on a pavement next to a main road when the cars are all driving in a direction that means they are facing me as they go by. No idea why lol

‘Also walking past a busker and worrying that my footsteps will be in time to the music.’

New fear unlocked 😁 I love this thread!

Mine is waiting for change when getting out of a taxi that was a small fare. I feel like I’ve wasted their time and they could have been completing a journey for a bigger fare so end up massively over tipping.

Also, the word lunch. Not when other people say it, but when I do! I can’t explain it 😂

Going for a piss in work toilets - two cubicles - and someone else being in the other one.

Invariably end up 'pretending' then need 'another wee' ten minutes later.

So many things!

The most recent one was joining a book club, after I’d been invited to join the book club. I was embarrassed that the other people in the book club would know I liked books and wanted to join a club about it Blush

@getsanta

Wow, this is enlightening. Honestly none of these things is embarrassing to me. Now I'm thinking there's something wrong with me!

Me too. I’m unembarrassable 😂
I’m guessing y’all don’t enjoy chatting to strangers?!

I don't really like walking past stationary cars if there's a big queue of them.

when I walk past someone in the street I feel uncomfortable, should I look at them? Obviously not because that's weird. Should I just stare ahead? Now i look like a robot? Pull my phone out and look like a screen obsessed twat?
Grin similar here but had a laugh at the way you've put it.

Can definitely identify with this 😅 Usually happens in Home Bargains and I have to loiter around the birthday cards to give them a headstart.

Putting the central locking on in the car, I have to check there are no pedestrians nearby. It's like I'm accusing them of being carjackers!

Autocorrect wanted me to post "contralto looking", glad i noticed, that would have killed me inside for the next few years.

Sunglasses. I love them on other people but even trying on a pair makes my body curl up with embarrassment.

I would love to be able to wear them.
