Strangest thing you have found embarrassing

I was waiting for a friend with a bunch of flowers for her. I found this so embarrassing for some reason! Something about standing on a street with a bunch of flowers. I also find having a baby bump cringe!

Walking up to an all you can eat buffet holding my plate makes me feel embarrassed and greedy.

When everyone starts clapping along with the music at a show. I feel so embarrassed I just can't do it

Eating at the theatre. The rustle of the bag, the crunch of the jelly bean. I end up sucking whatever it is, totally convinced that I am going to be called out from the stage.

Actually, I find quite a lot about the theatre is embarrassing.

When you are that person in a toilet cubicle and you have to ask a complete random patron in the neighbouring cubicle to literally “spare a square”.. mortified

Wow, this is enlightening. Honestly none of these things is embarrassing to me. Now I'm thinking there's something wrong with me!

Singing Hymns at funerals. It makes me feel so embarrassed and awkward. This leads to a weird laugh/chuckle which is really inappropriate and whilst trying to keep the laugh in it makes me look like I'm sobbing and unable to keep myself together!

Oh god watching comedians - I find it absolutely excruciating!

Being the centre of attention for any reason whatsoever.

If I'm at the front of a queue where they have those "checkout number 3 please" announcements and it's my turn next, I feel like everyone is staring at me.

Same for at our Drs when your name is called by the robotic voice on the waiting room screen and I feel like everyone stares at your when you get up from your chair.

Oh and also (on a roll now) when you come out of your appointment clutching a prescription- that always makes me feel embarrassed when I have to walk back through the waiting room.

Having to skip across the zebra crossing quicker than Michael McIntyre skipping merrily across the stage 😂

Parked behind or in front of a police car at the lights.. always make sure you drive super super correct and don’t crash I to them .. even thou you and suspect they have already checked your driving record out .. eeeek

Winning a raffle ….. I just criiiinnnge !!
Usually I’ve bought tickets to support whatever event we’ve went to and I sit there sweating thinking aw god please don’t be my number !

Going to BBQs.

I always feel so awkward. Do I take food? Do I cook food? Do I ear their food? Do I share my food with theirs?

I generally just take my own drink and make an excuse not to eat to avoid feeling awkward.

Am loving this thread. It’s the weird little ones. I literally can talk in front of thousands, have no issue singing karaoke and am the first to say hello to a stranger

But am feeling the hymns at church, clapping and walking out of the cinema deeply

Playing bingo on holiday and getting worried that I might win and have to shout "House". Argh! Would rather lose the prize money.

Queuing for the toilet when it's busy and there are multiple cubicles.

The sheer pressure of it.

Opening presents in front of the people who bought them for me. I fix a massive smile on my face and thank them loads of times to show how much I love the gift because I'm so worried I'll hate it and my face will betray me. I actually would rather have nothing at all.

When the parcel delivery person says they just need to take a quick picture. I KNOW it's not a picture of mebut I do this sort of knee-bend to one side/out of the way & try & slide out of the door frame& I'm fairly sure I do some sort of head tiltuntil they're done. And in my head I'm saying "there there, all done now" - bonkers

@DartmoorChef I do this! And then drink too much too quickly through sheer awkwardness and then get even more bumbly 🤦‍♀️

I used to get super embarrassed in blockbusters choosing a video for some reason.

Same. I think it was the feeling that the person behind the counter would think my film choice was poor or uncool

Being on a train/bus with exactly one other person, if you don't know them.

Queuing, waiting for something to open. I see the orderly queue outside the post office on a Monday morning and wonder why they’re not embarrassed or why they don’t leave their homes a bit later so they’re spared having to queue on the street.

Yes! I get some of these, especially standing in a queue and the supermarket ones.

Also, I always feel really embarrassed when I wear something new, particularly a new coat. Like everyone knows it's new and they're thinking, "Oh, look at you, showing off in your new coat".

agree completely... For this reason, I always do the "this old thing" & go on about what a bargain it was, they practically gave it away etc etc

I've never had the cinema one, but it seems to be a common thing!

In the book/film About a Boy - he goes on about people “singing with their eyes closed”. That’s another one that makes the ground want to swallow me up.
