Noting there is a thread for the east side, I thought a north west thread was needed.

--Also I am very bored at the moment waiting for dc to fall asleep, and this felt like the perfect way to spend the time.

Any other NW mumsnetters here? Let's talk schools, food, leisure....and so on

I'm actually from East Yorkshire but lived in Manchester and then Salford for 7 years... so it became close to my heart!

Booths is a bit posh but there is one I believe. I don’t know anyone who frequents there though.
If you're Fylde coast, there's a big one in Lytham where it's perfectly at home.

It's an alley here as well. Though my mum calls them ginnels.

We're in Cheshire. Close to Shropshire border.

I live near a Booths. Really good for booze and unusual foodie presents. Couldn't do my weekly shopping in there as I don't have a gold fountain

I do most of my shopping in Booths (I do shop daily on the yellow sticker aisle though ).

If your from Fylde coast (where I am) there is 3! 1 in Poulton, 1 in St Anne's and 1 in Lytham. I used to work across the road from the one in Lytham. Had to restrict my hot beef barm purchases to once a week or else I'd be broke! My dad boasted a lot at Christmas that all of the Christmas food purchased for our Christmas dinner was from Booths! Including dessert made by Lathams. Yum!

I love Booths' yellow stickers...especially on the 2nd / 3rd discount! They almost pay you to take it away.

Hot Vimto is the best in Winter.
Sadly not posh enough for a Booths…

It's a barm for me. I say alley but my 89 year old grandfather-in-law would call it a ginnel. There's a Booths where I live, I'm in there most weeks.

Talking of Booths, how good are those fabric bags for life they sell? I bloody love them!

However had to re-educate DH that it's a Barm and not a teacake. Just stopped answering him when he asked if I wanted a bacon teacake until he used the correct term 😂

@PaperMonster she's been talking about starting up postal orders again soon, but she does desert nights on a Thursday, if you're not miles and miles away she's worth the trip!

I prefer vimto frozen. There used to be a little corner shop in Fleetwood that sold vimmy ice lollies in 2 different strengths, weak and strong.
