Where was Boris Johnson?

Does anyone know where Boris Johnson was over the last ten days? He was interviewed and asked if he had been abroad. He said of course not and did a laugh as if he was lying.
So where has he been?

@MajorCarolDanvers

Politicians are allowed time off especially with a new born baby.
Tell Stella Creasy that.
Gechik · 30/12/2021 16:42

Maybe at the sales, maybe watching TV, most likely at Chequers, it was the Christmas holidays so he could do as he wishes

PigletInABlanketJohn · 30/12/2021 16:45

He cannot be trusted to tell the truth so it could have been anywhere.

Female MPs don't get maternity leave do they? Of course they do. They get 6 months off, fully paid. Stelly Creasy gets that too. Her complaint is that she also wants funding for a replacement (unelected) MP whilst she's on her own fully-paid maternity leave.

Neurodiversitydoctor · 30/12/2021 16:48

Mustique according to some on Twitter.

This is horribly plausible

KeflavikAirport · 30/12/2021 16:48

Is maternity cover for her constituents not a reasonable request then? 😒

Shinychestnuts · 30/12/2021 16:48

But if he looked smart and groomed you would say he's not working hard enough/up to no good

So he can't win can he?

Sorry, I am not sure how BJ's appearance is relevant to the point about him and his sidekick Gove having a disproportionate influence on the press. My main point is that right wing media bias in the UK is reaching anti-democratic levels.

Terfydactyl · 30/12/2021 16:49

@RoyalFamilyFan

I don't actually think A Prime Minister should be able to go away for 10 days and do nothing. In the company I work for senior staff don't do this, and they are a lot less important than a Prime Minister.
Staff where you work are not allowed holidays longer than a week? Seems illegal.
FrenchyQ · 30/12/2021 16:50

He was in milton Keynes yesterday at a vaccine centre

elelel · 30/12/2021 16:51

Tell Stella Creasy that.

What? That she is allowed maternity leave? I'm sure she knows!

Justkeeppedaling · 30/12/2021 16:52

He was filmed in Chequers talking to some NHS staff over skype a few days ago.

elelel · 30/12/2021 16:52

@FrenchyQ

Yes that's where he was when he was asked the question as to where he had been for the past 10 days.

No her complaint was that she faces the choice of working during maternity "leave" or leaving her constituents without proper representation or both (which in itself is likely to deter selection of younger women candidates).

It was a perfectly reasonable point to make. Proxy and remote voting is entirely doable, its just the current government are ideologically stuck in the Victorian era.

BiggerBoat1 · 30/12/2021 16:58

@sashagabadon

Oh god, give the guy a break!
Seriously? A man who has lied to us over and over again and who's complete lack of integrity and competence has brought the country to its knees. And he deserves a break why?
itsgettingweird · 30/12/2021 17:00

@elelel

I'm interested in the posters jumping to defend a man who has proved himself time and time again to an an absolute liar. Why are you all doing that?
That's the point isn't it.

We have no idea what he's been doing.

But his lies lies and more lies mean people no longer trust what he says if he states what he's been doing.

It's very problematic and could prove problematic if we do end up needing to introduce some mild restrictions.

I think he's blustered his way through life and it's worked well for him - up until the point being PM meant dealing with a pandemic.

He's not up for this role. And many no longer trust him.

THisbackwithavengeance · 30/12/2021 17:01

Who gives a fuck where he is?

He's allowed a holiday and he's even allowed to travel abroad if he wants to. I'm abroad at the moment; there are shedloads of Brits here all having a much needed holiday. No one is breaking any rules even if the Rule of Mumsnet is that we should all be in self imposed lockdown.

This thread is batshit.

EngTech · 30/12/2021 17:02

If the result of the GE had been different, we would have JC in charge

Wonder how that would have worked out?

ViceLikeBlip · 30/12/2021 17:03

I'm not sure it matters too much where he's been. I think it does matter a great deal that no one seems to trust a single word that comes out of his mouth.

He's lost any credibility he ever had. I thought he'd been gone by the end of the year, but it hasn't happened yet.....

ancientgran · 30/12/2021 17:04

Well apparently for him working means lounging in the garden drinking wine so not sure if really deserves a holiday.

Mangomammy · 30/12/2021 17:06

I think Boris is a wanker don’t get me wrong…but just because he’s not on the news ever day doesn’t mean he isn’t doing his job. Maybe he’s working from home? Or maybe there’s more important news stories than him walking in/ out of number 10? Hmm

@RoyalFamilyFan if seniors in your company can’t take 10 days off then your company sounds fucking awful. DH and I could go on a fortnight holiday and leave staff to get on with their jobs without it being a disaster…maybe the company you work for need to employ more capable staff.

wishingitwasspring · 30/12/2021 17:06

Boris hasn't brought the country to its knees, the pandemic has. He's muddled through it as well as any other world leader.

He's got scientists and medics at odds with one another and they're supposed to be the experts. There is no precedent, and they have had to make decisions as best they can as they go along

No one would have done any better so there's no point in slagging him off for a pandemic not of his making.

TokyoDreaming · 30/12/2021 17:06

@EngTech

If the result of the GE had been different, we would have JC in charge

But he isn't so what has that got to do with anything?

Boris is a lying cunt, I'd bet my house that he wasn't in the UK.

ItsSnowJokes · 30/12/2021 17:06

Wherever he has been he has come back with a bit of a tan! Maybe downing street got a new sun bed for Christmas.

PurpleDaisies · 30/12/2021 17:07

No one would have done any better so there's no point in slagging him off for a pandemic not of his making.

Almost anyone would have done better. Anyone.

ancientgran · 30/12/2021 17:07

Having non elected stand in MPs isn't reasonable though. Not sure how you square that circle.
