Where was Boris Johnson?

Does anyone know where Boris Johnson was over the last ten days? He was interviewed and asked if he had been abroad. He said of course not and did a laugh as if he was lying.
So where has he been?

Because he's the prime minister!

He's also a human being... flesh and blood the same as you and I.

Do you not stop working from time to time?

CaroleFuckingBaskin · 30/12/2021 15:47

Poor sod probably took some time off with his young family.

elelel · 30/12/2021 15:48

If he was self isolating he would have said so, although it would have been news before now anyway. If he was at home taking time off he would have said so.

The man is a liar and a snake who is paid a lot of money to step up and be there when needed so he should have been around. The crisis with covid right now is quite literally his to deal with so disappearing for days is not an option.

Boris Johnson = poor sod Grin
itsgettingweird · 30/12/2021 15:49

@elelel

He was asked where he had been and he replied with a guffaw and 'in this country' - so definitely not in this country.
It's not so much where's he's been that's the issue.

It's this. We no longer believe a word he says and just assume he's lying.

Seems he's finally climbing down into the hole he's dug himself.

RoyalFamilyFan · 30/12/2021 15:49

Yes because Boris JOhnson has had so little time off.
Or in reality every single time he is MIA, this excuse is trotted out. He has had more paternity leave than anyone ever at this stage.

If he’d actually been at home with his wife and young children surely that would have been the first thing to pop into his head. Few in the country would be askance at a man spending time with his newborn daughter at Christmas.

The fact he mumbled awkwardly about “being in the country” indicates he certainly wasn’t doing that.

Apparently that question has been cut from some of the news channels eg Sky News.

Piggywaspushed · 30/12/2021 15:50

I just realised I wrote sister instead of answer!

Of course he was probably at Chequers with family. Why then did he not just say so?! He honestly pours fuel on the smallest flames...

RoyalFamilyFan · 30/12/2021 15:50

@itsgettingweird yes we do all just assume he is lying. I have never felt this about any other PM.

Eating all the cheese and drinking all the wine as usual, I would imagine. 😆

Squills · 30/12/2021 15:51

I don't actually think A Prime Minister should be able to go away for 10 days and do nothing. In the company I work for senior staff don't do this, and they are a lot less important than a Prime Minister

You asked in your OP where has he been over the last 10 days. Now you appear to have insider information on his work schedule. It is entirely possible to be away from the workplace yet in constant contact.

PurpleDaisies · 30/12/2021 15:52

So at a work meeting then? Wink
RoyalFamilyFan · 30/12/2021 15:52

@Squills that comment was in reply to those saying he deserves (yet another) holiday away from work.

@StarbucksSmarterSister

Abroad? His reaction was bizarre. Why not just say "it's been Christmas so I was at home with the family"?
Exactly this. His blustery response was laden with panic. If he'd been at home why all the ums, ers and 'of course'. He doesn't exactly have a track record for being an upstanding, compassionate and respectable example of humanity.

It's getting like "the boy who cried wolf ", he has lied so much that it is almost impossible for anything that he says to sound sincere, mainly because of how he responds to direct questions.

wishingitwasspring · 30/12/2021 15:53

What did you want him doing exactly? Rushing in to restrictions? Nope... no one wants them.
Wait and see and gather data before rushing in to anything?.. nope, that's not right either.

Taking a break with his family.. good idea.

Piggywaspushed · 30/12/2021 15:53

It's a huge contrast with Nicola Sturgeon for sure.

He didn't like the question so answered indignantly, just like the other week when he told Sam Coates he broke the Golden Rule. He is terrible at getting flustered.

BiggerBoat1 · 30/12/2021 15:54

I actually hope he leaves the country as often as possible.

Permanently would be the best outcome for all of us.

PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets · 30/12/2021 15:55

@noodlezoodle

I think when he's MIA he can often be found hiding in a fridge.
I've checked mine... no boris here.

Maybe he's learning to play the violin for when his life in politics ends...
Wink

megletthesecond · 30/12/2021 15:56

The lazy sod isn't entitled to another holiday. He can "rest" at Chequers if he must.

Who says he's been on holiday ,is it just something you have made up in your head ?

tiredanddangerous · 30/12/2021 15:57

I can pretty much guarantee that he wasn't where he said he was.

PurpleDaisies · 30/12/2021 15:57

Not true. You’ve only got to look at the behaviour of the British public now to see loads are making different choices to reduce their risk of getting covid or passing it on to a loved one.

RoyalFamilyFan · 30/12/2021 16:00

This isnt about restrictions.
It is just about the Prime Minister doing his bloody job.

Absolutely. He's said for a long time the public need to make their own judgements and take some responsibility without the government making endless rules.

About bloody time

You are clearly fanning the flames.... looking to create drama and trouble
