Where was Boris Johnson?

Does anyone know where Boris Johnson was over the last ten days? He was interviewed and asked if he had been abroad. He said of course not and did a laugh as if he was lying.
So where has he been?

@Lovemusic33

I’m not a fan of Boris (I don’t vote Tory) but surely he deserves a few days off like everyone else? Also he didn’t take paternity leave when his wife gave birth a few weeks ago?

He had already decided he wasn’t going to impose and more restrictions before Christmas so it was probably a good time for him to have a break?

Doesn’t really matter if he’s working or not as he’s pretty useless anyway 😬

Didn't he assure us he was watching the covid stats hour by hour? Maybe if he is taking a few days off he needs to be honest about it.

I couldn't agree more with your final sentence.

BiggerBoat1 · 30/12/2021 17:09

Boris being in charge during a pandemic has been our problem.

Lying to the public, being too slow to act, giving lucrative contracts to his mates, hiding or avoiding the issue every time he gets asked to account for himself etc etc etc.

The man is a disgrace.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 30/12/2021 17:10

If he had taken 10 days off, I'd applaud that. Being PM is knackering, he has a young baby, and he nearly died last year. Presenteeism (being at work when you need rest/recuperation) is dangerous and leads to errors of judgement. There have been many examples of politicians making bad decisions when exhausted - the Cuban missile crisis for example, which nearly launched WW3.

What I can't stand is his pathological inability to tell the truth. It is one thing to gloss over uncomfortable facts - all politicians do that. It is another to lie blatantly and repeatedly, knowing that you are going to be caught out, but not caring because you despise the public so much that you don't give a damn what they think.

@PurpleDaisies

No one would have done any better so there's no point in slagging him off for a pandemic not of his making.

Almost anyone would have done better. Anyone.

I think my cat would have done better. Unfortunately he's been dead for a few years but I still have faith in his abilities.
StealthPolarBear · 30/12/2021 17:10

The problem is op that you are asking about the past. We don't talk about the past, or reflect on whether what happened in the past was the right thing or the wrong thing. In fact we should forget it altogether, look to the future and GET JABBED.

StealthPolarBear · 30/12/2021 17:11

Ancient gran if your dear dead cat is still a candidate he or she gets my vote.

BiggerBoat1 · 30/12/2021 17:12

Another vote for the dead cat here.

ClaudiusTheGod · 30/12/2021 17:14

I saw none of that. People were testing and getting vaccinated normally

Normally? So that’s why the PCR system is visibly creaking under the weight of demand? Not my opinion by the way - reported fact on the news.

Hesperatum · 30/12/2021 17:19

I doubt he knows what the truth means anymore as he is so practised in lying.

StealthPolarBear · 30/12/2021 17:20

Clean slate. Let's look forward. Grab a jab. Etc.

elelel · 30/12/2021 17:21

The pandemic may not have been of his making but to a certain extent the effects of the pandemic have been of his making. I think potentially many people would have done a better job.

Mummyoflittledragon · 30/12/2021 17:21
What did you want him doing exactly? Rushing in to restrictions? Nope... no one wants them.

Not true. You’ve only got to look at the behaviour of the British public now to see loads are making different choices to reduce their risk of getting covid or passing it on to a loved one.

From a couple of weeks ago..,
www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/omicron-two-week-lockdown-poll-b1976727.html?amp
That’s it then. He locked himself down… with a constant stream of Tory chums and family, the odd party and so forth. In this country. Or maybe not. We know he’s lying when his mouth moves.

I'm glad you share my confidence. He was a very special cat.

Momentum is growing for Ginger. He had a certain presence that I think would give the position some much needed dignity. Thank you his behalf.
plinkplinkfizzer · 30/12/2021 17:25

Think on this if the British public who elected him ( not me ) don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth , how do other world leaders view him ? He is damaging to the country .

You forgot world beating, it should be said at least twice in any sentence, world beating don't you know.
TokyoSushi · 30/12/2021 17:26

I'm not sure he could have necessarily got a passport for the baby that quickly, but there was definitely something odd about his answer!

StealthPolarBear · 30/12/2021 17:26

Alas, I did forget world beating

Kshhuxnxk · 30/12/2021 17:27

No idea but I wish he'd taken Sturgeon with him. What does it matter, if he had been needed he could have been contacted.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 30/12/2021 17:27

No one would have done any better

Germany has had half our death rate, despite having huge land borders with many other countries.

We have had the highest death rates in Europe, after Bosnia and Italy.

JinglingHellsBells · 30/12/2021 17:27

MN is another universe at times. I know no one in RL who wold even dream of starting this conversation. Most people are too busy with their own families and Christmas etc to wonder 'where's Boris'.

BUT and I am no fan of him at all, he has been through the mill.
In the last 2 years he has

Almost died
His mother died a few weeks ago
He's had 2 children in under 2 years
He's been PM and thrown into the first pandemic anyone alive has known.

Regardless of your politics, as a human being, he's been through a lot.

Tough on mice. Tough on the causes of mice.

JinglingHellsBells · 30/12/2021 17:28

@MissLucyEyelesbarrow Germany has a totally different healthcare system to the NHS.

Poor sod probably took some time off with his young family.
Half his kids are only a few years younger than Carrie...
