Recently discontinued products- this is not trivial!

After searching fruitlessly for it over the last couple of weeks I've just googled and discovered that they've discontinued Baileys Haagen Daz!
DP is going to be devastated, not looking forward to breaking it to him.

Can't find Sainsbury's own brand shredded beetroot since the Christmas stuff started appearing either, I usually get through at least a jar a week, even more in summer.

Rounds off a crap year nicely.

Can you even do a local rag sadface with a mask on?

@Slayduggee

Pre-pandemic Heinz discontinued their steamed puddings in a tin. If there is anything you need to stock up on in a pandemic it’s steamed puddings! I always remember sharing one with my brother on a Sunday.
I grew up with Heinz steamed puddings as did dh. Give him steamed pudding and custard and your his friend for life.

Another thing I miss is the extra large vol au vent cases I used to be able to buy. They were great for a starter or a tasty supper. My filling was prawn mushroom bacon and some onion in a white sauce.

Also I can't get green cherries and am kicking myself as I saw loads in my local shop during lockdown I use them to make florentines and love the red green look of them. All red doesn't like quite the same.

Whisp yogurts! They were incredible. I miss them. And M and S toffee yogurts.
I never see Maple Bacon Kettle Chips in the supermarkets. Recently we've had some from Home Bargains-maybe they've bought up the end of line and they're discontinued?
Can someone please start a campaign for the reinstatement of Tyrozets immediately. I'm thrilled I'm not the only one who loved them!

PieonaBarm · 23/12/2021 23:32

Zantac. Beechams Resolve, hangover cure of epic proportions if you necked one before bed!

Original Irn Bru, sugary, tooth decaying goodness.

Spiras and those Mars Dark and Light they did, yum!

I was bereft when Heinz threatened to discontinue Salad Cream, fortunately they saw the light. I bloody love that vinegary stuff, mayonnaise just doesn't cut it for me!

@Wheresmywoolyjumpers

Have been looking for cheesy footballs - the proper old fashioned kind, with the wafer outside and the yellow cheese inside - increasingly rare over the last however long but for the first year, cant find any.
Got these bad boys in home bargains @Wheresmywoolyjumpers my family think they're gross, but this is the sort of shitty food I love. Reminds me of the crappy party food of the 90s.

@JetBlackSteed

I can't find mint matchmakers anywhere. I liked those.
Aldi have them and the orange ones in bags in the middle aisle at the moment. May have eaten far too many orange earlier 😫
lisaandalan · 23/12/2021 23:44

I really miss Ben and Jerry's cherry Garcia. X

tulips27 · 23/12/2021 23:44

Bailey's Haagen Dazs was the best Sad

I miss Worcester sauce twiglets. They were fabulous. And Gino Ginelli ice cream, especially tutti frutti and fudge flavours.
Omg yes GG ice cream the toffee swirl one

@letstryagainnow

Tyrozets throat things-the ONLY effective non prescription lozenges. Apparently because they contribute to antibiotic resistance-according to a thread on here.

Estée Lauder modern muse Le rouge-my fave and no longer available.

Tesco also reformulantes their finest salt and vinegar crisps. The old ones were my favourites. The new ones burn my mouth and I can't eat them!

Have your tried gone but not forgotten for the Estée Lauder? They usually have all excess stock of discontinued Estée Lauder and the companies they own products.
Talipesmum · 24/12/2021 00:11

@Slayduggee

Not quiet the same but I ordered a large box of Elizabeth Shaw’s famous name liqueurs. Which were then substituted for a small box of Lindt. This got me thinking where have all the chocolate liqueurs gone? Also, where has just Brazil’s chocolates gone?
@Slayduggee - best place for chocolate liqueurs is usually a nice garden centre gift shop, or tk maxx- ideally near to Xmas time.

My dad passed away when I was little but Gino ginelli ice cream Always reminds me of him. It was his favourite so We always had it in the fridge in it's wierd round tub. It always looked so pretty and appealing but as a 5 year old it was rank. 🤢 Still remember the advert. Gino o Gino ginelli 🤣

@amillionrosepetals

I will never forgive Terry's for discontinuing the All Gold box of chocolates.
Same.
SmellyOldPartridgeinaPearTree · 24/12/2021 03:24

Beanfeast. WHY did they stop making Beanfeast? There's nothing nicer than a Beanfeast lasagne.

Booksandwine80 · 24/12/2021 03:51

Salt and pepper Pringles 😢

MadameFantabulosa · 24/12/2021 07:08

@thenightsky satsumas seem to have been reborn as mandarines where I live. Still shitloads of horrible clementines, and a tiny amount of mandarines but they seem to be the real thing.

FinishWhatWeStarted · 24/12/2021 07:25
@FinishWhatWeStarted Ooh, that would be very helpful, thanks! SE London vague enough?!
Maybe a bit less vague 😂 I'm just coming up with lists of locals. Need a few big stores to check.

Beeinalily · 24/12/2021 07:38

I loved the Bailey's too, but noticed (some time ago) that Bailey's had brought out their own ice-cream for £££££ more. Haven't seen it since. 🙁

FinishWhatWeStarted · 24/12/2021 07:39

Last year kettle chips did a sparkling wine and truffle flavour crisp/ it was incredible.

Beeinalily · 24/12/2021 07:41

OMG yes @SmellyOldPartridgeinaPearTree! Used to love Beanfeast, surely now is a good time to bring it back as there are so many vegans?

letstryagainnow · 24/12/2021 08:27

Thank you @Thegoodandbadlife I've never heard of that but will look!

vampirestockingfiller · 24/12/2021 08:28

M and S briefly did carrot cake cookies a few years ago and then never again. They were so nice! Little bits of carrot and nut.
And I miss Touch of Taste liquid seasonings in the brown bottles.

@vampirestockingfiller YES touch of taste - I’m so annoyed by this! It was so easy! I can only imagine it failed some sort of hygiene test or something. But it was so useful!
