Recently discontinued products- this is not trivial!

After searching fruitlessly for it over the last couple of weeks I've just googled and discovered that they've discontinued Baileys Haagen Daz!
DP is going to be devastated, not looking forward to breaking it to him.

Can't find Sainsbury's own brand shredded beetroot since the Christmas stuff started appearing either, I usually get through at least a jar a week, even more in summer.

Rounds off a crap year nicely.

Can you even do a local rag sadface with a mask on?

I love pickled beetroot too, my favourite was the M&S one.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 23/12/2021 20:07

Ben and Jerry’s Chunky monkey.

Gone but never forgotten Flowers

amillionrosepetals · 23/12/2021 20:15

I will never forgive Terry's for discontinuing the All Gold box of chocolates.

ginislife · 23/12/2021 20:20

M&S Primavera pasta ready meal. I've never forgiven them - and it's been years now - but I have recently found Steam Fresh pasta which is very similar and has to do.

JingleRattles · 23/12/2021 20:21

I couldn't find any orange & lemon jelly slices this year. Probably because I'm the only person that likes them lol

FinishWhatWeStarted · 23/12/2021 20:27
@FinishWhatWeStarted yes, that's the one!
Now hoping that the fact that it's still on the website means they'll bring it back once the seasonal stuff has gone.
I work for them. If you give me a vague idea of area I can look see if they are ranged for it.

thistimelastweek · 23/12/2021 20:32

Sainsbury's stopped doing their own brand after dinner mints some time back

After Eights just won't do.

letstryagainnow · 23/12/2021 20:39

Tyrozets throat things-the ONLY effective non prescription lozenges. Apparently because they contribute to antibiotic resistance-according to a thread on here.

Estée Lauder modern muse Le rouge-my fave and no longer available.

Tesco also reformulantes their finest salt and vinegar crisps. The old ones were my favourites. The new ones burn my mouth and I can't eat them!

NumaNumaYay · 23/12/2021 20:41

Haagen Dazs also discontinued the ACTUAL best one recently - Belgian chocolate with Salted Caramel.

V v v v cross.

YES! I literally came on to say the same. Absurdly good at treating my recent tonsillitis issues so I can swallow without crying. They are BRILLIANT! Why stop then?!

My other one is Walls muddy pig ice cream. That was a tiny scoop of heaven and the promise of a C bowl of that would get my fussy eaters to clean their plates. Ilooooved it! sad daily fail face

Slayduggee · 23/12/2021 20:48

Pre-pandemic Heinz discontinued their steamed puddings in a tin. If there is anything you need to stock up on in a pandemic it’s steamed puddings! I always remember sharing one with my brother on a Sunday.

HelloBunny · 23/12/2021 20:49

Och, Cherry Garcia...

Strawberries & Cream is so hard to find. It’s always Strawberry Cheesecake!

You need to live in Ireland. We have Baileys Cream. In a big tub. I’m opening mine tomorrow...

letstryagainnow · 23/12/2021 20:49

@Boogaloony I was devastated when I found out. I have two of them left-quite possibly out of date-and am saving them for when it's truly awful.

I saw these in Wilko’s yesterday, not seen them for years…. Yum!
Slayduggee · 23/12/2021 20:55

Not quiet the same but I ordered a large box of Elizabeth Shaw’s famous name liqueurs. Which were then substituted for a small box of Lindt. This got me thinking where have all the chocolate liqueurs gone? Also, where has just Brazil’s chocolates gone?

JenniferWooley · 23/12/2021 20:56

I'm not an ice cream fan but made an exception for chunky monkey & was bereft when they discontinued it - I still scan the freezer on the off chance it's made a sneaky comeback

@FinishWhatWeStarted Ooh, that would be very helpful, thanks! SE London vague enough?!

Bit of a random one but Pickled Onion Transform-a-Snack crisps were my all time favourite!
They still do other flavours but discontinued them, I was gutted

Tyrozets discontinued - oh no, they are my number one go to lozenge when I have a cough or sore throat. I need to see if I can get some before everyone finds out. I still have a very treasured tube of pink Germoline hidden away for emergencies Grin

Thanks for reminding me about the chocolate Brazil's, I'm gonna regret starting this thread aren't I...

I had mentioned chocolate liqueurs recently as I really like them despite being teetotal. One of DP's customers has gifted him a box as pictured, I was so chuffed when he came home with them!

Thanks @Jellifer I never thought of looking in there :-)

clarrylove · 23/12/2021 21:18

Payne's Just Brazils have been discontinued too. 😥

RainbowZebraWarrior · 23/12/2021 21:20

I will never get over M&S discontinuing their nut cutlets from around 30 years ago. There are so many more vegetarian/ vegan people now. So how come you don't do it any more M&S?

I also hold them accountable for discontinuing their Singapore fried rice in the properly Chinese style carton from around 15 years ago. Forward thinking? Nope, I don't think so. Although I do thank them for their Japanese fried chicken.

Star bars. I saw one in my local shop last week. Didn't taste anything like a star bar.

Don't get me started on fuse bars

FabricedeSauveterre · 23/12/2021 21:21

Can confirm that baileys poured over vanilla Haagen daz is just about acceptable as a substitute, i haven’t had it the past two years (agree they may have been using up stock) and got through with that.

FabricedeSauveterre · 23/12/2021 21:22

While I’m at it, has anyone seen any tinsel for sale? I know I’m late but my last bits have gone to shreds and the kids love it, plus it’s helpful for decorating jumpers cats and hair.
