Recently discontinued products- this is not trivial!

After searching fruitlessly for it over the last couple of weeks I've just googled and discovered that they've discontinued Baileys Haagen Daz!
DP is going to be devastated, not looking forward to breaking it to him.

Can't find Sainsbury's own brand shredded beetroot since the Christmas stuff started appearing either, I usually get through at least a jar a week, even more in summer.

Rounds off a crap year nicely.

Can you even do a local rag sadface with a mask on?

And now, more recently, the Marco Pierre White Mumbai Madness soup.

Such huge losses to my culinary repertoire.

I still mourn the original style Kettle Chips from about 20years ago when they used to be really thickly cut and chunky and stuck together in strange shapes during the frying process, when you had to consciously choose where to bite them so you didn't skin the roof of your mouth, and they were deep golden brown. They were my absolute favourites!

Then they changed the recipe to make them thinner and flatter and a lighter colour and they were never the same again 😢

I mean, don't get me wrong, Kettle Chips nowadays are still good, as are Tyrell's etc, but not the same league as old-skool Kettle Chios. Sadly I've yet to find another crisp like they used to be. So I shall continue my mournful crisp hunt 😉, although if anyone could recommend a comparable replacement that would be much appreciated!

I’ve not been feeling as Christmassy as usual this year. Is it the pandemic and the prospect of a new year lockdown? Or is it because it’s just not Christmas without bacon and maple syrup kettle chips? Who can tell?

Have been looking for cheesy footballs - the proper old fashioned kind, with the wafer outside and the yellow cheese inside - increasingly rare over the last however long but for the first year, cant find any.

DS misses Campino sweets . I bought some similar from A Quarter Of but they tasted weirdly banana-ey

I'm still pissed that Ben and Jerry discontinued their Oh My Apple Pie, the bastards I emailed them and they were sorry but I can't put sorry in a bowl with squirty cream can I!!!

Sainsburys used to make pork and pepper loaf....like nice luncheon meat with bits of chopped up peppers in it. I loved it and they stopped making it about 35 years ago.....

M&S percy pig biscuits! They used to be a gingerbread with pink and yellow icing,now like a bloody jammie dodger! My 18 year old is gutted,we're his favourite

I feel for you. I am still bereft about Toast Toppers being discontinued and that was years ago. Heinz need to reinstate it soon.

I'm still not over Walkers taking their Mexican fiery chipotle crisps off the range. Crisp of Dreams.

Sainsburys have also discontinued their triple cooked chips in beef dripping. The chunky Maris pipers are shit in comparison.

Also, Schwartz used to do these meal pastes years ago & there was a tomato & olive one that made a delicious chicken cacciatore. I actually rang the 0800 customer service number at the time to ask them why 😂

Thanks @Nowisthemonthofmaying - if I know there is a chance I will keep looking. So far struck out at Morrisons, Sainsburys and Co op - but it was a small Co op - I will keep looking. It is not really Christmas without them!

If we're complaining about lost Ben and Jerry's, Bohemian Raspberry... I know it was only a limited edition in the first place but surely they could limit it back again? I'd be filling a freezer with it and then threatening my husband with divorce if he eats it

We got cheese footballs in Tesco this year, but didn’t find any last year at all.

I got the KP cheese footballs in Sainsbury's a couple of weeks ago so they definitely still exist!

Tesco oriental snack mix. Aka snack crack. Not exactly discontinued but they only seem to be making it one pack at a time. When I see it I stock up but it hasn’t been around for weeks now and I have run out.....

Bodyform string towels, bastards, managed to buy a dozen when they were shortly ressurected but they've gone again. Now I've just discovered why I couldn't find tyrozets last week when my tonsils had a stress related melt down.

M and S Caesar style vegetables. Loved them. It's been years now, I don't suppose they'll be back. Also someone mentioned the Percy pig ginger bread biscuits, I'd forgotten those, they were really nice too.
