Things that can fuck off

Light hearted (sort of)

  • Covid (obviously)
  • late December birthdays
  • Birthday parties the weekend before Christmas
  • Sherry shortage in the local supermarket
  • price stickers that don’t come off without leaving a mark on the item
  • covid again for good measure and the fucking related anxiety about catching it this week and ruining Christmas

Gaaaaah

My dyeing is the same- we have cleaned it and the filter especially and it still won't work!
I can't sit in a minging house for Christmas!!!

People who screech to a sudden halt in the middle of the pavement because they absolutely have to stand for 5 minutes checking their phone RIGHT NOW and block the whole pavement

People who walk 3 abreast on the pavement (or couples who walk hand in hand clutching each other & can't possibly let go for 1 second) it's obvious I'm going to have to throw myself into the gutter to get past them but they're oblivious

Covid

My Dyson's been playing up saying its blocked too. I cleaned the filter then discovered that the problem was actually the bit inside the top of the cannister where things get sucked out of the tube into the cannister was chock-full of sticky christmas tree needles and cat hair fluff. It's only a stupid tiny hole.

@AuntMasha

Yes! Dyson can fuck off. We have the same issue.
The cordless Dyson stick vacuums can particularly fuck off. I talked dh into getting us one, two or three years ago. It doesn’t get worked hard - (we have cleaners once a month, so the house doesn’t get too dirty) and I just use it for a quick whizz round downstairs to pick up all the dog fur (looking at how much is on the floor, I’m surprised the dogs aren’t bald), but the battery has completely packed up. It cost an arm and a leg, and it can’t manage the odd sweep round a normal sized house a few times a year without fainting like a Victorian maiden.

@liveforsummer

There's a Sherry shortage? Surely it takes YEARs to get through a bottle of Sherry and if doesn't you are clearly an alcoholic. I only have a sip every other Xmas. Has everyone run out at once?
A year?! I'd polished my bottle of Sherry off within a week
