@KurtWildesChristmasNamechange

She was concerned about Stars legs but did not know they were fractured, she thought Star may have Perthes Disease and wanted to take her to hospital,

So she knew about a rare disease but only had an IQ of 70? Hmm

Come off it.

It's all very convenient imo.

Her brother had Perthes disease.
FallingStar21 · 14/12/2021 17:39

After 5 referrals and the evidence of bruises, I'd suggest the social workers' IQs also need checking!!

Honestly, an average person, even an average 12 year old, would probably make a better "professional" judgment than the complete morons, who were "investigating" Star and Arthur's cases.

She knew about it because her brother had the condition when he was younger.

Go and read the trial. Your posts are showing you haven’t bothered.

mowglika · 14/12/2021 17:41

@SofiaMichelle I agree ..seems like some posters are on first name terms with FS, trying to humanise what she did, you would never get that with Tustin or Hughes for example.

artquejtion · 14/12/2021 17:44

@SnottyLottie

Five social service referrals and nothing done about it. It’s absolutely shameful! That poor little girl was badly let down ☹️
This, and a social worker who saw the injuries but did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

That social worker is complicit in this too and I hope for once, an involved person, will be held legally and criminally liable.

Unsure33 · 14/12/2021 17:45

Can I ask how old the other children were and if were any problems with them ?

artquejtion · 14/12/2021 17:48

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

The murderer was a psycho, the mother has a low IQ,, what excuse does the educated social worker have ??? too busy, not trained enough, can't be arsed to do the paperwork involved, maybe just DIDNT GIVE A FUCK.

Heepers · 14/12/2021 17:50

@DaphneDeloresMoorhead

Well the one thing that is certain is that the person sentencing has a full picture of the entire case and far more experience in sentencing serious offenders than any of us.
This.

Neither of them were the parents of these 2. They were SB niece and nephew.
Lougle · 14/12/2021 17:59

I think people may think that I and others are excusing her terrible behaviour. I'm not. On the balance of probabilities, I would come down on the side of the jury. But they weren't asked 'do you think she caused or allowed Star's death?' They were asked if they were sure beyond all reasonable doubt. I don't think I could be, on the basis of what I've read.

@danni0509 I've kept up with all of it, it's happening close to where I live. My posts are showing that I don't believe FS has as low an IQ as her defence made out, that's its very convenient for her, and more than anything it's NOT an excuse for what happened to star.

StrongbutTired00 · 14/12/2021 18:04

The traveller community as far as I am aware are strictly against any type of LGBTQ+ and any form of child abuse. They idolise babies and so how on Earth are they all on her side, protecting her on SM and shouting support from the gallery :( I read they were set up outside the court in their mobile homes. I understand they never turn their back on family but I’ll be astounded if the rest of the traveller community haven’t completely shunned the Brockhills. She’s having a cushty time in HMP Styal, paired up with her traveller cousin who stabbed a man to death and apparantly she’s as cocky as hell and enrolled on a beauty course. I hope to God she gets transferred now she’s been found guilty and that her next place of residence is everything from her worst nightmares. FS is not guilty of murder but she is the most useless pathetic waste of skin to ever exist and I have no idea how there can possibly be a God for beautiful little baby Star to ever be born to an imbecile like her. She was let down by so many people and I don’t know how I’ll sleep tonight with it constantly running round my mind how anxious and terrified she must of felt on a daily basis, no child should ever have to endure that. I HATE people Angry

With a vested interest in what? Are you suggesting that they're child abuse apologists?

Itsnotover · 14/12/2021 18:11
@Itsnotover I resent being called “blinkered” because I hold a differing view to you.

Not intending to be goady at all but what do you think the correct verdict would have been regarding Smith then? Do you think, due to her IQ etc that she should have been found not guilty or face lesser sentencing? I think that’s unfathomable.

She had the intelligence to know that the bruising on Star was wrong. She knew that if SS got wind of certain photos of her / saw her on days where it was obvious she had bruising that it would create issues. If she knew that then she knew the abuse was wrong because she was attempting to hide it from people.

SB was / is a monster and there is no doubt she preyed on FS as an older and manipulative partner but I think its inconceivable to somehow be sympathetic to FS in the context of what’s happened.
Pretty sure I already said I agree with the jury.

What I don’t agree with is that FS is evil or just ‘as bad’ as the other creature.

Gwenhwyfar · 14/12/2021 18:11
@Bagelsandbrie. I completely agree with you. And besides, even a mental age of 9 (although I've only seen that written on this thread) is not necessarily a defence. The killers of Jamie Bulger were only 10 years old in actual fact, and still were found guilty of murder.
Yes, but if it happened now I don't think they would be tried as adults like they were at the time.

catinboots123 · 14/12/2021 18:14

@peaceanddove

A condition of Frankie's release from prison should be that she undergoes surgical sterilisation.
I can't believe I've just read these words.
DonnaHaywood · 14/12/2021 18:20

SB lied through her teeth throughout the trial.

Within minutes of murdering that poor baby, she had a story concocted for medical staff - that she could have injured Star through CPR. Confronted with actual CCTV footage of her abuse, and a recorded conversation in which she admitted it, she had explanations (that she was distracting Star with 'the claw' from Liar Liar, that she was talking about dogs and red diesel). These explanations are clearly risible, but she stuck to them confidently and consistently through cross examination.

It's entirely plausible that she could have convinced FS - a teenager of very low intelligence who was totally in her thrall - of pretty much anything.

@KurtWildesChristmasNamechange No, your hiding the thread because some people have a difference in opinion to you and you don’t like it.

Cmsadvice · 14/12/2021 18:23

Praying beautiful Star gets the justice she deserves. RIP baby girl 💖

peaceanddove · 14/12/2021 18:26

catinboots123 I think it a very sensible solition.

catinboots123 · 14/12/2021 18:36

Enforced sterilisation? Hanging? This thread is a disgrace to civilised society. These women have committed terrible, terrible crimes. And they will have a loss of liberty as the law sees fit. Hopefully for a very long time. But prison is a punishment. It is the most awful punishment. Please don't descend into a baying mob asking that they get punished twice.

Unsure33 · 14/12/2021 18:38

@sixpencenonethepoorer

Thank you for that info. I hope they did not witness too much on that night. Although I fear they did.

Unsure33 · 14/12/2021 18:39

@catinboots123

The problem is more where do you draw the line on who or in what circumstances should sterilisation occur. That’s a very dangerous line to draw.
