Agree, not long enough. There's no minimum, it's justice window dressing.

The mother should have received 14 years for that bruise on Star’s face, let alone her murder.

Agreed, that bruising was too horrific to be ignored. I'm aware she was in a coercive violent relationship but there comes a time when you need to put your children first, no matter the consequences.

Agree with you - still lenient, but just compare it to baby Teddy's mother. I believe she didn't even serve a sentence, and the circumstances were quite similar to Star's.
