Stupidly hard work quiz (help!)

If anyone remembers previous years my work sets a stupidly hard quiz for us to have a go at every Christmas. This year's is no different....

I've managed to complete the first 8 puzzles myself but now I'm stuck Xmas Sad Very frustrating as I've got the gist of the puzzles but can't figure out what the answer is!

Here's the first one and here's my answers. If anyone can figure out the final answer (two words 5,7) I'd be ever so grateful 😊

OK. So

DE, MO, OL, ME, RW, WF, DL, AE, TR, NE, UB, PP, FF, AM, DH, EC, EA, IS, EE, AF

does seem to be right.

No idea how many words from those 40 letters and you'd have to assume something film based or christmassy?!?!

Obviously not a 1, 2 or 3 word answer. Hold on while I burtst a few more brain cells.

Tried all suggestions for the answer so far but no luck.

I've never been able to guess or work out the final answer solely using the clue at the top. Always have to solve the puzzle which then gives you the answer.

So another similar puzzle the answers spelled out "entry two in list one" and the second one in the sequence of the first answer was the word that unlocked the next round.

They are designed to be frustrating and make your brain hurt!

in this example how did it "spell out" ENTRY TWO IN LIST ONE?

Just wanting to gauge how they think

@ApocalypseNowt do the numbers refer to the number of letter in the answer?
e.g. 1st clue 8,14 so the 8th and 14th letter?
I solved cliffy biro last year

@FoxgloveSummers so there were 17 clues and the answers were the missing entries in a sequence. The clues also had numbers next to them so answer 1 was VIOLET and the number was 5. 5th letter = E. and so on

Was thinking eg 8th letter of answer 14 for the numbers in brackets.
Started working it out but think I've messed up but wanted it to say when anagrammed "May the force be with you" which happens to be 20 letters.

Cos working out a 4+ word anagram with no other clue is going to take some time.

for the (x y), I have taken the x letter of the y answer.

I have got

TWCEOEUDUEADAOWLMSKT.

Trouble is, that is 20 letters, doesn't anagram into 12 word answer. Is it another quote and the answer is the name of the character who said it? Far fetched, I know.

Do you know for certain that it is a 5 and a 7 letter word?
