Stupidly hard work quiz (help!)

If anyone remembers previous years my work sets a stupidly hard quiz for us to have a go at every Christmas. This year's is no different....

I've managed to complete the first 8 puzzles myself but now I'm stuck Very frustrating as I've got the gist of the puzzles but can't figure out what the answer is!

Here's the first one and here's my answers. If anyone can figure out the final answer (two words 5,7) I'd be ever so grateful 😊

It might be a bit off piste, but the image is of 'US American Flag Shoes' and if you google that with movie on the end it comes up with the film Glory. 🙈

Does anyone have a list of the actors that come up in the pics? My brain is friend trying to skip through screenshots, back to movies, info on paper and other theories on the thread.

Yes - The Firm and pelican Brief are from 1993 and based on books by same writer, John Grisham - I get that.

I know that Tom Cruise was in The Firm but who else from it is pictured?

What am I missing?

Rosegold I can't quite tie it all up either - outside of John Grisham, Stephen king had two films out in 1993 (needful things and the dark half) and so did Michael Crichton (rising sun and Jurassic park) - but I can't quite see all the actors clearly enough to see if it's the more obscure ones.

If anyone can see Sean Connery, Wesley snipes, Sam neill, Laura dern etc somewhere, it might be Micheal Crichton.

Just throwing this out there but Tom Clancy novels/films? Patriot games, hunt for red October, clear and present danger were all around that time.

Ah, I think I get it (but not all the way to the answer). This part was called reverse Orpheus. Orpheus wasn’t supposed to look back so we are. The first part of the quiz posted was the film quotes one where there are loads of characters played by various actors. Do they are the actors listed you need to look at. There’s loads there… including Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Jack Nicholson, Mel Gibson, Antony Hopkins. I’m sure the relevant actors will be from that list.

That would make sense as to why it's "listed" and not "pictured", although it's the character names that are listed

Based on a cursory google of each of their names +1993, a couple of those actors were in movies based on books in 1993, but none of those authors had any other movies out that year as far as I can see.

Or variations of moving the numbers around. Could be released in 1992 and three actors.

I think it must be 1993 and 2 actors as the letters to make that sentence were in groups of three so not easy to move separate words around without having to rejig a lot of other letters.

You’re all right that the actors aren’t listed. I guess those two number codes make a list of actors in some way? I can’t work out what they mean though.

Could they have received awards in 1993 for a film released in 1992?

Or does reverse Orpheus mean we look forward as he looked back? What to though? Argh! I’m going to bed
