Finally. We can say it.

I've just utterly broken down for Arthur.

She's on robot repetitiion saying the same thing things she's been saying for months, you can hear her going into it...

"basically he's fine this, that, blah" on repeat.

I'm glad they were found guilty. I imagine the poor jury are going to need a lot of support now.

There are lessons to be learned and I think one of them is people need to stop with this "snapshot, mind your own business, maybe they were stressed" shit when someone sees something that isn't right. It's everyone's business.

viques · 02/12/2021 17:26

@Somethingsnappy

How long does it usually take for sentencing after a conviction?
Murder is a mandatory life sentence.
BonnesVacances · 02/12/2021 17:26

From the Birmingham Mail live feed...

Judge Wall tells the court the jury has indicated how 'impressed' they were with Arthur's bravery and the 'fight' he showed in the final weeks of his life, adding they have 'taken him to their hearts'.

RIP Arthur SadBear

girafferafferaffe · 02/12/2021 17:27

I couldn't watch the video. It just makes me feel physically ill. That poor child, I wish someone had saved him.

Roselilly36 · 02/12/2021 17:28

Heartbreaking, that poor little boy, another child let down by the system.

Doubledenimrock · 02/12/2021 17:29

I hope she lives in utter torment for the rest of her life. This case was horrific. The contempt I feel for this piece of trash I cannot put into words. That poor, darling boy. ' nobody loves me' broke my heart. I am not easy upset.

MaryStuart · 02/12/2021 17:31

@Bluntness100

I have to be honest, I sincerely hope both these people are horrifically tortured in prison every single day for the rest of their lives.

Every single day I want someone to feed them salt, starve them, make them stand for hours on end, beat them, abuse them, mock them, make them sleep on the cold floor, video them and let’s us all see. Every single day I want the other prisoners to do that to them, for the rest of their lives.

Just like they did every single day to that little boy. And I want them to live till a ripe old age in prison, taking that daily torture they inflicted, and then die a cold horrible lonely death as people video them and mock them like that little boy died.

It’s the only justice.

I don’t often agree with you @Bluntness100 But in this case, yes, 100% yes.

These two evil fuckers deserve everything you’ve written above, and more.

RIP Arthur

Naughtynovembertree · 02/12/2021 17:32

I don't believe in grandparents rights over dc, I think it woud be catastrophic in many cases to allow gp rights etc but in this case, in these circumstances I'm staggered it wasn't agreed somewhere that Arthur had a loving relationship with his own gp and uncle and that should take precedence over his supposed relationship with a woman his dad has just met?
It should have been sanctioned somewhere that Arthur's should have regular contact with his gp for his own good!!

EyesAsGreenAsAFreshPickledToad · 02/12/2021 17:32

The 2 older children were removed from ET's care at or after the time she attempted suicide by throwing herself off a 6 story car park several years ago

I wish her attempt had worked. Arthur would still be alive today.

AndreaC67 · 02/12/2021 17:32

Murder is a mandatory life sentence

Which means anything, could get 14 years or 45.

We need to stop these things happening in the first place and that means valuing children and young people, instead of constantly criticising them (i can't believe its still legal to hit your own child) and a well funded social work sector.

Olliesocks · 02/12/2021 17:33

@SnottyLottie

Bagelsandbrie “2 younger ones were living with her at the time of Arthur’s murder. One of them can be heard on the recording released of him saying “no ones gonna feed me” asking if he wants a cuddle”

Oh my God, that’s so horrific on so many different levels ☹️

Honestly this case has really affected me. I pity the poor jurors having to go through such horrific evidence.

I really hope they get offered counselling.

Poor little Arthur. Let down by the people who should be protecting you.

BiBabbles · 02/12/2021 17:34

We need well funded public services, we haven't got these, so the vulnerable pay the price. Only 30% of social workers feel their work load is manageable, most graduates join the profession and then leave.

Completely agree, poor funding is one of the big factors.

Terribly off topic, but I've been thinking about this and other care profession shortages quite a bit lately -- I've been working on secondary careers education with a school trust, and it's very noticeable that even that young, it's well known that work conditions for most in those areas are crap, I've heard parents discuss how they discourage their kids from those professions because of it and I've got nothing I feel comfortable saying in response.

It's disheartening when thinking how the shortages and work loads in social services contribute to Arthur's suffering and death not being prevented, while also seeing how hard it is to promote the types of professions needed to do that.

He desperately wanted to live. He knew what love was - he’d had that with his Nanny and Uncle Blake when he lived with them and he knew Tustin and Hughes didn’t love him. That’s one of the things that’s so heartbreaking about it all. In the voice recordings you can almost hear his anger alongside his sadness, at the total injustice of the situation.
Soubriquet · 02/12/2021 17:35

That poor little boy. I can’t bring myself to listen to any voice clips because I know it would haunt me. He’s the same age as my ds, and it just makes me think how beaten poor Arthur must have been to stand in a corner for hours a day. Ds can’t sit still for 5 mins.

Queenie6655 · 02/12/2021 17:35

@Sparklingbrook

I didn't realise Tustin had 4 children of her own. Where were they?
In care it seems 😲😢😢
immersivereader · 02/12/2021 17:37

Very telling too that the stepmother constantly took videos of him suffering. Like those two in Keighley. Absolute idiocy, they signed their own sentence with their own damning evidence!

Queenie6655 · 02/12/2021 17:38

@Wherearemymarbles

I’m sure there will be an enquiry into SS…. After baby P (Peter Collolly) we were told this could never happen again….

I hope they both die in prison

Seems that next year there is a full case review

I can not get this innocent chikd out of my head

RainySnows99 · 02/12/2021 17:38

The beasts have been caught - now we can all say what we actually think .May they be harassed and bullied in prison, let them live every day in fear and torment .I hope they never sleep at night and when they die I hope they rot in hell forever .Calling him a little fucker after he had died showed she had no remorse , and his own father saying "finish him off " shows he wasn't capable of love or compassion - I hope they both get none .

immersivereader · 02/12/2021 17:39

Re. Social Work. My mum was a social worker for many, many years and they always had a hard time getting people to work in child services. It's a hard shift, badly paid and would haunt you for years.

Another service that needs better funding.

Bigassbeebuzzbuzz · 02/12/2021 17:39

I cant bring myself to watch or read anything about it. It's too devastating.
That poor wee boy. What the actual fuck is wrong with you that you would torture a child?! I hope she has her parental rights removed. No way should she be able to say she is a mother. Shes scum and deserves nothing but a lifetime of hurt and abuse.

ItsSnowJokes · 02/12/2021 17:41

I have wept everytime I have read about Arthur. How can anyone be so psychopathic that they have done these hideous things to a tiny, young boy? Jail is too good for them. Social services, the police, MASH should all hang their heads in shame and not be allowed to get away with a whitewash inquiry. This wasn't a child who was under the radar, how many times were they warned about what was going on and they did not rescue Arthur. Just totally heartbreaking.
