Fucking dogs!

I am so fucking done with dogs

I am sick of being jumped all over by dogs when I'm out running. I always slow to a walk when a dog approaches, I stand still if they seem aggressive. I have lost count of how many dogs that have jumped up on me and have made me muddy, left scratches from their nails on my arms and thighs
or ripped/pulled my clothing. I'm actually very lucky never to have been bitten.
.
I am so fucking fed up of avoiding piles of dog shit - on some of the routes I run or walk I can count up to a dozen piles just left on the path.

I am so fucking fed up of my neighbour's dogs barking. I can't complain as they are the kind of people who will make my life hell but on the regular occasions they are out they bark CONSTANTLY. Sometimes all night long.

I am fed up of having to pass a neighbour's house where they let their dog shit in the front garden and don't clear out for days and days. I walk past daily and it stinks to high heaven.

I am fucking fed up of dogs in cafes, pubs and restaurants. I, like many people are allergic and it leaves me sneezing for hours and hours. One pub we were in you literally had to clamber over 6 dogs to get to the bar.

Now today on here there are loads of people saying they think it's ok to put their dog shit in someone else's bin.

This is even without the terrible dog attacks that happen.

I know this will rile entitled dog owners but seriously has anyone else just fucking had enough?

(Ps my current username came from a thread where a poster's dinner of cottage pie had been given to the dog where everyone piled on to say dogs can't eat onions. I don't have a dog 🤣)

My dog is scared so she barks out of fear. Because of this she's kept on a lead. And she's walked at more quite times. There was a jogger so I made the lead short . I put my dog to one side off the path and onto a grass verge area. So the path was free for the jogger which he was already on. And what the jogger do run towards my dog . There was like a 7 +foot wide path. And he choose to go towards my dig on the grass verge . Why ?

This thread is bonkers. Would live to know what the deleted posts said

But also What about the nasty runny squelchy ones? And do you wash off the piss?

Wash the piss off what? The grass?

You do realise there are other animals, that piss and shit, don't you.

Do you worry about fox piss? Cat piss? Bird shit? Badger piss?

Do you worry about who is washing that off?

I totally get finding dogs annoying, but if fear of animal piss, stops you enjoying g the outdoors, maybe you should stay in.

Sayke · 18/11/2021 17:10

Wash the piss off what? The grass?

Off the lampposts, pavements, market stalls, cafe table legs, steps, doorways

Yes I've seen dogs piss all over these while owners stand watching them make a disgusting piss puddle that runs all over the pavement and street. Grim.

Try having a street facing business in a busy city centre. You will be washing human piss and shit off the steps on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

@Trixiefirecracker

The problem with some dog owners ( and I was one up until recently) is they take it all very personally. If you are being a great and thoughtful dog owner that’s fabulous, well done you but unfortunately, there are so many dogs around now that the ones who are shitty dog owners give everyone else a bad name. I live in the Lakes. People come here because it’s so dog friendly. Everyone in my village has a dog, there are dogs bloody everywhere. No one seems to know it’s sensible to keep your dog on a lead through sheep fields, no one seems to want to pick up their dog’s poo. It’s really awful walking anywhere in summer as most places stink of dog shit. (Especially when everyone was holidaying in the same place.) if you don’t have your dog in a lead, you also don’t know where it is shitting.
I find it really sad that people do this. It must be awful to smell all summer.

I feel quite lucky. I live in a part of Yorkshire that's not known to be the best and I rarely see dog poo left.

I do disagree with your point about off lead dogs. Neither of mine are ever out of sight. They stick together and fairly close by.

I don't know anyone who walks their dog off lead and our of sight. Though I bet some do.

Trixiefirecracker · 18/11/2021 17:22

We have one who does this round our village, he has three dogs and they know the walk very well so they just run on ahead. We all know he doesn’t bother to take poo bags. He does it through livestock fields too so it’s very dangerous for the animals. ☹️

mildredhubble48 · 18/11/2021 17:25

@Sayke have you ever heard of rain? Honestly you need to unclench. All this worry of dog piss isn't good for you.

You regularly touch the bottom of lamposts and the pavement? Market stall legs?

Do you think they are clean, if not for dogs? Do yiu believe the soles of your shoes would be germ free, if dogs didn't exist?

If a cafe let's dogs in they know there's a chance a dog may toilet in there. That's their choice and should have a plan to disinfect the area. They have chosen that as a risk. Though I don't believe they should be in cafes, anyway.

But you didn't mean those places do you, you think the world should be free of animal piss, when it's never going to happen. Would it offend you less if the puddle was from a drunk man pissing?

Or a fox?

That's just awful. I hate off lead dogs near livestock.

Can't believe how blatant some people are about not picking up dog poo.

Of course not, but humans are more disgusting than dogs.

mildredhubble48 · 18/11/2021 18:10

@Sayke foxes piss, birds shit, humans spit. You could argue that all are disgusting but I really wouldn't lose sleep over it.

maofteens · 18/11/2021 18:12

It's the owners. I have two and yesterday there was someone training in the park (why at a busy park) who ran at lightening speed round and towns. I stood aside each time she passed, as I do for people with pushchairs etc, and I have a dog who jumps so he is kept on a lead.
What we need is some dog parks. There are as many if not more dogs using the park as kids, but no designated place for them to be let off lead to run around. In fact there's a very large playground and a separate large patch of grass reserved for... goodness knows what I've never seen anyone in it but dogs aren't allowed. It would be perfect- dogs can run separate to the kids and runners etc.

hotmeatymilk · 18/11/2021 18:13

You’d think “dog pissing on cafe table legs” would be indefensible, but every day is a learning day on MN.

I don't lose sleep over it, don't be ridiculous!

But cmon surely you don't think it's tickety boo to have a stream of warm fresh urine dribbling down the pavement?

Some people must be on a wind up.

Can't believe they actually think it's normal not to be disgusted by this!

Kikkomam · 18/11/2021 18:35

If it was my table that I was eating at I'd be a bit grossed out but presumably that would be some sort of stray as noone with their dog on a lead would be wandering throigh the cafe tables?

Although in Indonesia I did see a dog shit right next to the table we were eating at and then another dog ate it, so that was nice. NEVER GO TO BALI OP.

My local park has a large fenced off area inside that a lot of local dog owners meet in every evening. I have seen dog training sessions in there too.. Yet it has signs all along it saying "no dogs allowed" as a lot of community groups use it for kid's football etc in the summer. I never take my dog in there, as I can read the signs. Some people are idiots. All I can do is my best.

For clarity, I saw a dog do this at an outside cafe table which you presumably think is fair game.

The owner certainly did.

Bleurhgh

Kikkomam · 18/11/2021 18:40

Oh yes, fair game. I'm sure the cafe owners would have cleaned it off if they were that bothered.

Its not that it's indefensible. I don't think dogs should be in there in the first place.

But, as an ex restaurant owner, if you choose to allow pets in your business there's a risk of them going to the toilet, so it's your responsibility to make sure the table leg is disinfected. So it should be clean very soon after.

And quite frankly, I don't believe for a minute the pp often sees dogs pissing on table legs. Not for a second.

Their assertion to a pp that she bets the pp doesn't wash piss down, is ridiculous because I am betting their dog hasn't ever pissed on a table leg, in cafe.

So why would they wash it down. Washing it down with a bit of water isn't going to make the table leg clean.
