Reminds me of when we went to the funeral home to organise my mums funeral. Were discussing flowers and we're told they always use a certain local florist and my dad said something like "oh no, DW and her had a run in, we cannot use her. No no no". I wish I could remember the exact words, but it almost sounded like they'd had a physical fight. I had to jump in and explain that dm was just fussy about flowers and this florist had once sent the wrong colour flowers to someone.

Raddon I think it was called. Weren't allowed to buy that washing powder as the advert was annoying.

Midland back after my dad was made redundant. I remember an umbrella burning ceremony in the garden Grin.

Sandwich shop near work. I prepaid for a salad and said popping to the shop next door and when I came back to collect was told not paid. Really rude and woman kept speaking to her colleague in their native language when I insisted. I emailed head office and later on got a call when cashed up to say I had paid. Used to use them for catering at work but stopped too.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 13/11/2021 08:28

Yes, a local car dealership. I went to look at a car and my DP came along too. Now, my DP only came along to look after our then 2 year old DS. The salesman practically ignored me and spoke the whole time to my DP who told him repeatedly that buying the car had nothing to do with him. Despite telling the salesman I was local he proceeded to take me on the shortest test drive possible and gave me directions. I got The Rage at his stinking sexist attitude and swore blind I'd never buy a car from them.
I also watched as they reduced the car I'd been looking at by £2k because they couldn't sell it. Tossers. Grin

Sainsburys-terrible customer service. I’ve not shopped there for about 3 years but they’ve just sent me some great discount vouchers so am considering paying them a visit

Ask pizza place, we left without paying after waiting an hour for food which arrived burnt and not what we had ordered.

We boycotted our local bakery too as the staff were so rude but happily new owners equals lovely staff so we’ve returned

Beaverbrook. It's been a good fifteen years since I last went in one of their shops. Even if they gave diamonds away I still wouldn't entertain them.

Heartbeat tv show, they killed the doctor last night, it's been my comfort show for a few weeks.

CorvusPurpureus · 13/11/2021 09:00

One particular supermarket chain where we are (not UK) because the heir to the empire is in ds's year at school & they had a fight in year 7.

They're now on reasonably amicable terms now in year 13, & I've taught the lad several times over the years - he's a nice kid - but ds still chunters if I suggest doing the Big Shop there. Which is annoying as it's the only place in the country that stocks Heinz Baked Beans.

Lush & the Body Shop, for being horrible to JKR.

One of the two pubs in my parents' village because they once served my dad a dodgy pint which upset his stomach. They've changed hands several times since, but their doors are never to be darkened again, apparently. Caused the Great Jazz Club Kerfuffle of 2016 when the rest of his gang decided they quite fancied trying out the new pensioners' special & he could jolly well get over himself...

A coffee shop in my local shopping centre, the owner is a rude arrogant prick, who had a tantrum in the supermarket because there were limits on the amount of milk, ice cream etc. they were allowing per one transaction during Lockdown last year when the shelves were being cleared of supplies, so limits were imposed. He was in front of me (pushed in front of me, refused to wait) & was not happy. I on the other hand was laughing at him. Tosser. I’ve also forbid my neighbour from going there. There are plenty of others coffee shops so no big deal for us.

B&Q. I interviewed for a part time job as a teenager but they didn't give it to me. Devastated. I would have done a great job 🤣

DanteThunderstone · 13/11/2021 09:48

I've been boycotting one of the local ice cream vans for 14 years cos the man who runs it snapped 'don't let it drip on my counter!' at me as he handed me a cone. Fucking nerve of him - selling overpriced melting ice cream then blaming the victim. You can stick your 99 up your arse, Lou.

Hen2018 · 13/11/2021 09:53

Holland and Barrett, after the salesperson treated me to an extended racist rant against GRT.

A shop in the next village, after the owner made a local alcoholic woman sleep with him in exchange for free alcohol.
