Teabags

Hi

Can I pick your brain this morning and ask that you give me your best suggestion for teabags? I’ve been using Tetley like forever and feel it’s time to switch up as I’m just not getting that good cuppa kick from it.

I love my tea, drink around 3 cups a day minimum. The one that is suggested the most I shall purchase on my next shop!

Thanks

Yorkshire (not gold),

I love Assam, usually buy Waitrose own as I work there so it’s easy to grab.
Going against the grain here, but I’ve never understood why people love Yorkshire tea?! I don’t like it at all and can tell when someone makes me tea using it.

When I can, Mr Miles, A West Country company, delicious

Twining Earl Grey.

Sunstar16 · 09/11/2021 21:05

Punjana

Happyinheels · 09/11/2021 21:06

I used to drink Tetley for years and felt the same so switched a few months ago to PG Tips - as others have said they're also biodegradable. I drink a lot of tea a day 🤣

WildRosie · 09/11/2021 21:13

I used tea leaves for a spell about a year ago but made the mistake of storing them in a glass jar. I didn't realise at the time but glass isn't a suitable storage material for loose tea - it lost a lot of flavour in a fairly short time.

TangerineDreams · 09/11/2021 21:16

PG Tips or Yorkshire Tea.

Scottish Blend as the MIL used to use are bloody horrible. She has now changed her ways and only has Tetley. Shame her brews are still shit though. Doesn't stir, just taps the teaspoon to the bottom once. I don't get why. It's weird.

InnPain · 09/11/2021 22:06

I wasn’t expecting so many replies! I have to say I’ve purchased PG tips today… however, it’s the extra strong one? But it tastes just like Tetley?

Is Twinings English breakfast the one that’s usually provided in hotel rooms? Because I do love the taste of that one

DH drinks PG tips, I. personally hate them. Far too bitter for me. Saying that, I drink my tea black so that may be part of the reason.

For tea bags I use Williamson, I think Waitrose is the only. one I get them from.

But the majority of tea drunk at home loose. tea, taste so much better than a. tea bag so we go through 2 pots a day at least.

Raggletaggles · 09/11/2021 22:49

Dorset tea!!!!!

I can only find it in Waitrose but I bulk buy it. Total game changer for me. I absolutely love it. Used to drink Yorkshire before but I cant drink anything else now

Housewife2010 · 09/11/2021 22:52

M&S Extra strong teabags brewed in a pre warmed tea pot which is topped with a tea cosy is my top tip.

SmellyOldOwls · 09/11/2021 22:53

Punjana. Why does any other tea even exist?

reluctantbrit · 09/11/2021 23:01

Also, I found the tea taste different depending on the water you have. Hard water needs a stronger tea, I can't drink Ceylon or Darjeeling at home but when we were on holiday in Scotland the more delicate tea I bought by accident was amazing. there.

Kite22 · 09/11/2021 23:17

Yorkshire
Even decaff Yorkshire tea is nice.

I wonder if the type of water you have helps (or otherwise) some teas ?

Though we find Yorkshire nice when we take it away with us wherever we go , so maybe not ?

DoubleShotEspresso · 09/11/2021 23:30

Barry's Irish Tea is the business
Failing that PG tips

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 09/11/2021 23:38

PG tips. Also like twinings

thegcatsmother · 10/11/2021 00:02

Sainsbury Red Label; Smugglers Brew (Cornish Tea), Twinings Breakfast Tea.

fitflopqueen · 10/11/2021 00:05

M&S gold teabags or Yorkshire

mrsfollowill · 10/11/2021 00:11

Twinings every day or Yorkshire all day long - whatever is on offer at any given time- never pay full price for tea or coffee and build my stocks up all the time. I've prob got a years supply of tea and coffee in the cupboards right now.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/11/2021 09:02

MIL used to get a hard water version of Yorkshire tea - it has a green band rather than the usual red. Perhaps it's only sold in hard water areas?

twilightcafe · 10/11/2021 17:18

I've done an Amazon order for Punjana tea bags. I shall do a taste comparison test with Dorset tea, which has been my 'house brew' for the past five years.
