Teabags

Hi

Can I pick your brain this morning and ask that you give me your best suggestion for teabags? I’ve been using Tetley like forever and feel it’s time to switch up as I’m just not getting that good cuppa kick from it.

I love my tea, drink around 3 cups a day minimum. The one that is suggested the most I shall purchase on my next shop!

Thanks

Dorset tea as I'm from Dorset!

crispinglovershighkick · 10/11/2021 17:50

Also, I found the tea taste different depending on the water you have. Yes! We spend a lot of time in Dorset and Twinings Extra Strong is great there but Barry's is better at home.

Yorkshire for me. Or twinings everyday.

My mum has pg and it tastes really bitter to me as a pp has said.

Thompson's

DedalusBloom · 10/11/2021 18:13

I used to really like Yorkshire but couldn't justify the plastic when it's so easy to find brands that don't use it.

We have Twinings extra strong in the dark box.

I had some Barry's once to see what all the fuss was about. Dreadful muck. Grin

Yorkshire!

hellcatspangle · 10/11/2021 18:59

PG taste rank to me - ringtons are lovely but you can’t buy them in supermarkets I don’t think, I’ve ordered them online before. I prefer Yorkshire tea.

GTAlogic · 10/11/2021 19:23

Yorkshire tea is too bitter for me. We tried Ringtons tea because there's a Ringtons warehouse in the industrial estate behind our house and we often see their vans driving around. That didn't really taste of much though so we weren't impressed.

Punjana v Dorset?

Punjana gives a nice, robust brew.

I will stick with Dorset tea. It has a deeper, maltier flavour.

After exhaustive research... in order of preference
Yorkshire
Miles (Cornish brand)
Dorset Teas

I'm an addict and drink about 10 cups a day Shock. I miss Ringtons. I'm going to hunt down some Punjana, never heard of it but seems to be getting a lot of votes here.

KnottyKnitting · 12/11/2021 12:57

Yorkshire tea- proper builders brew!

WickedWitchOfTheTrent · 12/11/2021 12:57

I'm a mix, at times it's the basic budget brands but usually I prefer pg tips

I'm definitely in the Punjana club, but will try Dorset Tea as sounds lovely. I like Assam tea but found Punjana better than any of the single Assam teas I tried.

Yorkshire tea for me, although picked up some Aldi gold when ran out recently which are as nice but the box isn't big enough to feed my habit.

Not heard of some of these so will have to give them a try.

Hetyanni · 14/11/2021 08:04

I'm a Twinnings gal particularly English Breakfast

theneverendinglaundry · 14/11/2021 08:28

I get any supermarket brand 'gold' teabags. Sainsbury's ones are completely plastic free.

Barry's is also very good.

But I've been thinking about buying loose tea recently....

Karwomannghia · 14/11/2021 08:31

Yorkshire tea and yes they’re plastic free now.

Bert2e · 16/11/2021 16:12

Bags might be but the box is still wrapped in plastic. Sainsbury's have removed plastic from their own bags, the Red Label is lovely as is the extra strong version. No plastic in the bags and no cellophane wrap.
