Teabags

Hi

Can I pick your brain this morning and ask that you give me your best suggestion for teabags? I’ve been using Tetley like forever and feel it’s time to switch up as I’m just not getting that good cuppa kick from it.

I love my tea, drink around 3 cups a day minimum. The one that is suggested the most I shall purchase on my next shop!

Thanks

We've switched to loose tea and love buying different ones to taste (from Bird and Blend or Whittards etc)

I switched to decaf in the afternoons but dh isn't a fan so I tend to make with teabags and always have Dorset Tea, it's the best.

I've never understood the fuss about Yorkshire Tea tbh, it has a weird after taste.

Twinings all the way for me.
Start the day with a Pure Peppermint, then onto Everyday until after lunch, then move to Lady Grey (not Earl, Lady), and back to Pure Peppermint after dinner.
Their black teas have a much cleaner, crisper taste to them, I find Yorkshire/Tetleh/PG almost slimy.

SugarBlossomFairy · 09/11/2021 10:42

Yorkshire tea all the way

Whitney168 · 09/11/2021 10:47

I was on Lidl Knightsbridge Gold for a long while, but they seem to have completely changed and have no oomph to them any more, so am now buying Clipper Classic Everyday (added benefit of no plastic).

Currently have some Barry's that a friend sent me, and they are great if you can get them locally.

Yorkshire

Yorkshire tea for me, or loose leaf. If I want an earl grey I use Williamson's.

Interestingly they have switched out the polypropylene to PLA - this is the same as PG tips has done and can still be composted in high temperature compost bins.

PG Tips say plastic free, Yorkshire tea says that WRAP say you shouldn't use that term as PLA is a plant based plastic.

Yorkshire Tea. Every time.

VitalsStable · 09/11/2021 10:58

M&S Gold or M&S Extra Strong

DeathMetalMum · 09/11/2021 11:01

Yorkshire here too.

Alwayscheerful · 09/11/2021 11:15

Dorset

ReginaaPhalange · 09/11/2021 11:18

Our everyday brand is Scottish blend. I love it!

If I'm out at a cafe, I do like a twinnings English breakfast!

Caspianberg · 09/11/2021 11:19

Twinnings breakfast. Have switched to the loose leaf majority of the time due to the plastic in the bags though. It’s actually nice making a pot of tea

nordica · 09/11/2021 11:21

I have different teas for different times of the day.
Twinings Everyday is best when you just want a "normal" cuppa. Teapigs Morning Glory is also amazing but much more expensive.

Yorkshire Toast & Jam and Biscuit teas are great for something a bit different but not quite a flavoured tea. Also Twinings Dark Caramel - it can be a bit sweet, though.

Hoogly tea Marzipan roobois is my caffeine free evening treat (if you like marzipan, obviously).

massistar · 09/11/2021 11:24

Glengettie here. Designed for our lovely Welsh water.

crispinglovershighkick · 09/11/2021 11:28

Barry's. We can't get it in the shops anymore so I order it from their website.
Twining's Extra Strong is also good.
Having said that, after years of drinking strong tea I've switched to almond milk and it's a bit too bitter at my usual strength, but both teas are tasty and punchy.

Covetthee · 09/11/2021 11:29

Any assam tea. Lovely flavour.

I find rest of the tea’s really bland in comparison

RosebudMotel · 09/11/2021 11:32

Scottish Blend, best tea ever.

I have wondered if it depends on where you live and if you have "hard" or "soft" water?

Schoolsout78 · 09/11/2021 11:45

Pg tips all the way, brew for a good 3 minutes. Heaven!

Jabbawasarollingstone · 09/11/2021 11:47

Yorkshire or Sainsbury's Red Label.

For tea leaves try Glengettie.

Turtles25 · 09/11/2021 11:47

PG Tips..

MrsWooster · 09/11/2021 11:50

Went to PG for the biodegradeable factor and they’re fine.

midsomermurderess · 09/11/2021 11:51

My favourite is Yorkshire Tea too, especially their Biscuit brew.
