Please inspire me as I always think of a reason not to go .

That pic above is beautiful. My run is 3 laps around a small inner city park. Still good fun but nowhere near as pretty.

Finished between 34 and 36 pacers today so quite pleased.

Thank you, was in danger of forgetting my barcode but I saw this post before I went out and it reminded me to put it in my pocket! Lovely clear cool day here, close to my PB but will have to wait for the official time...

shakingmytambourineatyou · 06/11/2021 10:13

@Guardup

This was so worth getting up for - have a good run all x
Wow. That's beautiful. I am feeling quite proud because I actually did it instead of staying in bed. I ran with a couple of friendly ladies going about same pace as me so that was nice and helped make it seem a bit shorter. Well done everyone who went. X

Well done everyone who got up and did it. I don't think I'll have quite got a PB but it should be close so I'm happy.

Guardup · 06/11/2021 10:50

I managed a PB today. My first ever sub 30!
(but only just) My first park run was 35.38. I’m just a teeny tiny bit proud of myself.

Well done everyone that ran x

catchthat · 06/11/2021 11:08

I got a sub 35 minute for the first time. Very please with that. I've only done 12, my first was two years ago, then restarted in august at just under 40min. Loving it!

It's not PP is it?!

Well done OP. I wasn’t particularly feeling it this morning either but this thread inspired me to haul myself out of bed and go. So you’ve done a good deed today!

Fabulous to see everyone’s updates Smile. Well done to us all 😊

The best bit…celebratory breakfast

So, who's doing Parkrun in the morning?
Indoctro · 06/11/2021 12:06

A very flooded park run for me today. Calf high puddles for 50m , so soaked to the bone

It was just a gentle jog for me as I've not ran in 10 days due to a chesty cold. I thought I was better and over it but my HR says not. I did 10 min/mile pace which should be z2 140bpm for me but I was away up at 170 so I'm gonna take another few days off.

A benefit to HR running it lets you know when body isn't up for pushing it.

A very miserable drookit morning here

So, who's doing Parkrun in the morning?
JeremiahObadiahJackanoryJonez · 06/11/2021 12:12

A new one has started locally. I missed the first week, ran the 2nd and have volunteered ever since. It’s such a friendly thing to be involved with even if you’re not a runner Grin

CalmConfident · 06/11/2021 12:15

@JeremiahObadiahJackanoryJonez totally agree on volunteering.

My mum did her 50th volunteer today, she now has her own marshal post ! It really makes us feel connected in a sat morning despite being different parts of the country

CalmConfident · 06/11/2021 12:16

Mum has never run it - she did tailwalking to celebrate her v25 but other than that marshalling is her passion Star

Ftl6 · 06/11/2021 12:32

I went this morning. I’m slow (42 minute PB, 43+ today) but I love it anyway. I’m almost in the 25 club, but having to work Saturday sometimes means it’ll take a while to get to 50 and beyond. I’m volunteering at junior parkrun tomorrow and really looking forward to it!

Iwantacampervan · 06/11/2021 13:37

The dog & I tail walked at our parkrun this morning (56 minutes) - it's an undulating course by a lake & then through woods. I've just bought & received my 50th volunteering T shirt as have done 53 & have 65 'runs' so a little way off the 100 for both.
I am a volunteer in another organisation (have been for over 30 years) and the contrast with the amount of thanks and support I receive from just one hour at parkrun is amazing.

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 06/11/2021 13:45

Keep telling myself l will go next week but have only done it once since it restarted

AuntieStella · 06/11/2021 15:06

I hadn't noticed all the new volunteer T shirts!!

VikingNorthUtsire · 06/11/2021 15:09

92nd volunteer for me this week as I am injured. Thank you to everyone who volunteers.

RunningFromInsanity · 06/11/2021 15:11

116th parkrun and 27th volunteer today.
Saturday is parkrun day for me.

reallyneedmoresleep · 06/11/2021 15:26

Hastings parkrun was fantastic. There was a belly_dancer as a tail walker!

Palomadoves · 06/11/2021 15:29

Thank you for starting this thread- I saw it at 8am and it prompted me and my daughter to go to our local one at 9am. Loved it!

Yay! Had you been before?
Palomadoves · 07/11/2021 09:37

Only once, a couple of years ago. My daughter's now old enough to run independently which made it better for both of us Smile We want to go again asap

shakingmytambourineatyou · 07/11/2021 13:07

My legs ache today. I am going to keep going now. I expect everyone on here to report back, especially the ones who say they mean to go. If I can do it, anybody can. Smile
