So I just looked up bananas nutritional facts, not sure why I was to limit to a half, the calories ect of a whole one seems ok to me.

I forgot to mention, I add sliced banana to cereal, and mix in with a few grapes and cut up melon. But my favorite way is a grilled banana peanut butter sandwich.

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 05/11/2021 00:35

My last place of work had a No Banana policy.

Ooh, do you know if they have any current vacancies Grin.

Nothing worse than the reek of a banana some dolt has left to fester in their drawer for days in an over-heated office.

RedToothBrush · 05/11/2021 00:36

Seriously though. Bananas are the work of the devil. I won't eat them. No matter what. And i will happily use any shit excuse.

Loads of other foods contain potassium. I manage fine without poisoning myself with the grimness of bananas. Everything about them is awful.

You are truly a kindred spirit in banana-hatred.

How about a banana and date sandwich?
Butter one slice of bread, put honey on the other slice then put sliced bananas and dates in the middle
Yummy !!

TempNameChangexx · 05/11/2021 00:42

(but I can't eat a banana in any form - even in a yummy banana sandwich - if it actually smells of banana as I can't stand the smell so have them while they're still a tiny bit green and non-smelly)

Why can't a glass of wine have 100%
of RDA ( or whatever it is called)
Of everything ?

I wouldn't try to force a banana into me anyway, anywhere, anyhow ...

MacNTosh · 05/11/2021 01:02

It’s easier if you freeze them first

OddshoesOddsocks · 05/11/2021 01:03

Banana pancakes are nice and easy and done well you can’t really tell they’re mostly banana

HarrisMcCoo · 05/11/2021 01:04

Love a big banana 🍌 the bigger the better🤣

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 05/11/2021 01:06

Never! Disgusting stinky slimy things This is what put me off doing the cabbage soup or BHF diet to lose weight because every day includes bananas. I quite like banana bread though but I somehow don't think it includes that! I also like banana chips so maybe it's just a texture thing for me

me4real · 05/11/2021 01:32

There's a lot of potassium in coconut water I've heard, or tomatoes, or potatoes. Ask your consultant how much you need and get it from other sources maybe.

How about making things with the bananas? The taste can be easily hidden behind chocolate flavours, people use them as a low calorie sweetener.

me4real · 05/11/2021 01:34

I didn't use to like them until I realized they're one of the cheapest fruits so I bought some, and discovered I like them as a grown up. I don't eat them as they're higher calorie than most fruit- but it'd be better than all the pizza I eat. Smile

Ignore this garbage. Grin

You can NEVER hide the banana. A millimetre speck will taint EVERYTHING in your house for years to come.

My husband eats the wretched things but he is banned from putting them anywhere other than the defunct integrated fridge in our kitchen (there when we moved in, but I preferred our existing eye-level fridge freezer).

me4real · 05/11/2021 01:47

@ArblemarchTFruitbat Surely there will come a point where enough cocoa powder could overwhelm even a banana. Smile

Dullardmullard · 05/11/2021 01:49

No chance would I eat one.

Find something else for the potassium if you don’t like the texture.

Happyhappyday · 05/11/2021 01:50

@RedToothBrush I don’t disagree with you that bananas are destroying the world, but so are avocados. They are incredibly blue water intensive.

Yogawankonobi · 05/11/2021 02:03

Oh you are wild!

HollowTalk · 05/11/2021 02:09

@RedToothBrush

Bananas are destroying the planet. All that shipping across the world.

Eat an avocado instead. They are much nicer.

Because they are grown in the UK, aren't they?
Kernowfornia · 05/11/2021 02:09

Don’t force the banana, swallow - a potassium tablet.

Whatwouldnanado · 05/11/2021 02:37

10.30 am is banana o'clock for me. Every day. Perfect convenience food.

twointhemorning · 05/11/2021 02:46

Would you eat green ones in a curry? Savoury rather than sweet.
