Some very interesting traffic heading to Scotland for Cop 26.

PRES101 from Aerolinas Argentinas appears to be about to land at Prestwick.

Private jet LNX29KG also en route to Glasgow.

Please go and ask MNHQ to confirm this is not the case. Also, why would you think that?

larkstar · 01/11/2021 22:45

I look at it all the time these days - since lock-down restrictions eased I have noticed the increase in traffic - I am underneath the flight paths for both Manchester and East Midlands and I reckon that planes are flying faster and lower than ever on both landing and take off - I've lived in the same place for 20 years and never been bothered by the sound of aircraft - I am acutely sensitive to noise and it's never bothered me until this year.

NigelSlatersXmasTaters · 01/11/2021 22:45

Because you quoted and replied to a comment left for someone else.

Why the huge power struggle over what would otherwise be such a nice thread?

ReginaaPhalange · 01/11/2021 22:46

DH said he was going to drop off a card to his mums house (lives 2 streets away and took the car). That was 45 minutes ago!! If I find out he has gone to Edinburgh airport to look at AF1 without me, I swear to god I will release the pregnancy hormones which are brewing Wink

Sorry. My mistake. I didn't realise that wasn't the done thing tbh. Lots of people comment on quoted posts and it's usually ok.

Never intended to get into any kind of argument tbh. Hence saying I would hide the thread - I only haven't done it yet because the question of me being 2 posters was asked.

I shall hide now though

Standstheclockattentothree · 01/11/2021 22:50

@ReginaaPhalange

I need to be careful what I say, as don't want to put anyone, but boris is at gleneagles
There's a lot going on around there. Police vans, blacked out people carrier, helicopters. It's been interesting!

You to, a brave new world and galaxies so to speak.

ReginaaPhalange · 01/11/2021 22:54

@meltingappointment you don't need to hide the thread of leave. You obviously have strong knowledge in what you are discussing, but you need to consider that some of the other posters here may do too.

I certainly learned something new that AF1 could be tracked on the military app today, but my American SIL (who has family in the American military) told me that AF1 would not show on any tracker. When I sent her a screenshot of the military app showing otherwise, she was very surprised. So yes, you had knowledge in that which I, and I'm sure other posters were grateful for.

I appreciate you're not here looking for an argument, nor am I or anyone else. I just found you quite aggressive if someone had something different to say from you.

Let's draw a line under this and enjoy the thread and the chatter which will no doubt follow tomorrow evening with all the planes leaving! Who are you betting leaves first?

ReginaaPhalange · 01/11/2021 22:56

@Standstheclockattentothree for boris? I'd understand if it was for Biden Wink but yes, I can imagine it will be rather busy up there just now!

Wonder who's staying at Trump's Turnberry...GrinGrin

ReginaaPhalange · 01/11/2021 23:01

@HadEnoughOfBears not Biden or Obama anyway 🤣🤣

Standstheclockattentothree · 01/11/2021 23:03

On a different subject, did anyone else watch the flights in and out of Kabul recently? It was so sad - incredibly busy with military aircraft from all over the world as people were evacuated, then flights dwindled away to nothing. At the same time TV news was showing thousands of desperate families still waiting at the airport Sad

Try Cameron House or Gleneagles!

ReginaaPhalange · 01/11/2021 23:19

@mandajmo Checked the following and told to contact the hotel:

Balmoral
Cameron House
Dalmahoy
Gleneagles
Marr Hall

I'm trying to think of other prestige hotels!

I said to DH (he has returned), I wonder where David Attenborough is staying. He said "probably a wee local b&b" Grin

I'll be honest, I'd love the grandure of a very plush hotel, however I would prefer the retreat of a good little b and b that's off the radar so to speak, but must have Wi-Fi and cups of tea, and a good mix of foods.

ReginaaPhalange · 01/11/2021 23:46

@Hawkins001 oh who doesn't love a plush hotel? But I honestly can't fault a premier inn either at times as their beds are soooo comfy! When my work used to do training weeks (pre covid), our contract was with premier inn and I was always so happy cause I got the best sleep ever!

Just checked Norton house - no availability either!

That's understandable about the zzz aspect, Plus sometimes it's nice to just disappear into a crowd so to speak and just blend in at times, complete the tasks or assignments and back to business so to speak.

ReginaaPhalange · 02/11/2021 00:05

@Hawkins001 I couldn't possibly comment Wink
