Is there any decent soap left? Recommended me some!

Imperial leather -what happened to it? It's a mushy mess! Eugh, and I've got four bars of the foul stuff.

I'm sure it never used to be so soft and messy. Is there any decently priced soap ( could push the boat out for some quality) that won't mush or crack?

I prefer bar soap to liquid.

Thank you!

I do the same as @Fuckitsstillraining .

@Thefuturestory I never justify purchases of soap , just hide them .😍

Another vote for www.frenchsoaps.co.uk/ - it lasts amazingly well and smells lovely.

We now only use L'occitane bars of soap from the men's range as I prefer those scents.
We've also loved Santa Maria Novella men's soap which I bought online with aftershave for dh
I've had some Jo Malone too as it was given to me as a gift & it was lovely

I bought imperial leather during one of the lockdowns when we could only go to the supermarket & I hated it. Harsh on the skin & v chemically smelling. It came in a multipack & the rest of the bars are still lurking somewhere

The only soap we buy ourselves on a regular basis is the L'occitane now. Lasts ages - we have a bar in the shower & one on a soap dish by the sink. And we use L'occitane shower gel too though teen favours body shop
We use liquid soap by the kitchen sink

I'm buying all the teachers and teaching assistants Christmas soaps from TK Max they're lovely gifts 🎁

The ginger and clementine Waitrose soap was fab considering the price. They used to do a shower gel with black pepper which I bought before I saw the light and switched to soap. Really difficult to get a non-floral/traditional-soap-perfumy soap in the supermarket. But I also like Palmolive because it reminds me of staying at my grandma’s.

Pears for my hands, simple for my body.

Howshouldibehave · 31/10/2021 10:02

Nesti Dante Fig and Almond-it never goes mushy, smells gorgeous and gets you properly squeaky clean. I haven’t bought shower gel since using this!

For ages bars of Imperial Leather soap split as if two separate parts are joined. After only brief use they crack. Why is this? Nice soap spoiled by this poor manufacture.

Dustyblue · 18/04/2022 06:32

@Chunkymenrock

Pears soap is great, especially the blue or green one.
I clicked on this thread just to see if you have Pears in the UK! (am in Australia)

We only have the original clear honey-coloured one, that smells herbal. Do the green and blue ones smell the same?

My fave supermarket soap by far.

We use bars of Waitrose camomile in the shower. I buy beautiful bars of Italian soap from to maxx, usually lemon scented, for the kitchen.

Charlieandlola · 18/04/2022 07:52

I buy online from Arran aromatics - last really well , great scent and don’t go mushy at all .

Els1e · 18/04/2022 08:27

I like Dettol sensitive skin. It’s about £5 for six bars on Amazon. Very light, neutral smell and works fine. Also in cardboard box, so packaging recyclable.

justasking111 · 18/04/2022 08:27

Get mine from local farmers goats milk soap. OH uses pears or shield. I do fold up a flannel into soap dish to absorb the water to avoid mushiness. Just wash flannels with the towels

Oldraver · 18/04/2022 09:12

@OrrAppleCheeks

Waitrose own brand - camomile or ginger and something - is really good for a supermarket soap. But comes in cellophane packaging.
The pink one is really nice but had trouble getting it recently
Saucery · 18/04/2022 09:17

@Dustyblue the green and blue Pears smell slightly different to the traditional amber one. I slightly prefer the green one, but all 3 are my go-to soaps. The handwash is too strong (bought some for work as I’m allergic to the one they buy) however. Really pervasive, more like cheap aftershave.

Faith in nature - also they their shampoo and conditioner in 5litres. Fab and eco !

Get a box and they are £2.30 each. Keep away from the shower and won’t go mushy.

Thanks to everyone who mentioned TK Maxx. I went there today and went soap crazy. Gonna try the rose soap first.
I can't stand shower gel, soap all the way for me.
