Weird smells that you like

Another slightly odd lighthearted thread!

I've realised that I really love the smell of dust burning on a radiator Blush

Anyone else?

None of these seem weird or unusual to me.

I give you....

Faro Airport.

My goldie - his paws smell like popcorn and I snuggle him in the morning, because he smells divine. I say he smells all fluffy, which isn't a thing. My cats breath. Really loved it when I was pregnant. Blush and my DH has a classic car. The smell of the petrol and the interior, always takes me back to hot summer days driving around. Before our DS. We would picnic, drink champagne and then head home. Bliss.

Cigar smoke - rare now but it makes me think of my dad who used to have a cigar on holiday after dinner or at Christmas.

When my cat comes in she has a smell of “out”. DP always says her head smells of my perfume.

Bleach and leather - bleach makes me think of going swimming and getting chips after! Leather reminds me of snogging dirty boys with unwashed long hair in biker jackets when I was a student, I think.

New shoes
Paper that's just come out of a printer
New books
Gravy

Oh, and sawdust. Again, it reminds me of my dad pottering in the shed, making things. Our neighbours have a rabbit and I love if I am outside when they clean out its hutch.

@Fozzleyplum I am another L’air de Rien fan and have worn it for years - it hasn’t been discontinued! They had some issues last year but actually found me a bottle in a back cupboard so MIL could but it and give it to me for Christmas, but on their website now it says it’s expected back in stock this month.

Petrichor
Permanent marker
Bonfire
Original green Fairy Liquid - smells like the kitchen in the church where my preschool was held

Bobsyer · 05/10/2021 22:44

New carpets.

It stems from pregnancy when my cravings were the smell of our new carpet ( I spent a lot of time lying on the floor!) the smell of my new leather boots (not unusual) and the taste of my facial scrub Blush. I used to surreptitiously eat it while in the shower! Grin

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 05/10/2021 22:46

We used to go caravanning a lot as children and caravan shops had a really distinct smell - like plastic and toilet chemicals. I'd give anything to bottle that smell.

rainydogday · 05/10/2021 22:46

Horse poo
Sweaty rugby players

Passmeamenuatthetottenham · 05/10/2021 22:48

@Crispynoodle what does insulin smell like?!

I love the smell of an old church - smoke, insence, leather and wood, there is nothing like it! I'm not religious at all these days, but it's very evocative of my childhood.

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 05/10/2021 22:51

Germolene

Some carrier bags have a really lovely smell inside them when they're brand new. John Lewis' and Sainsburys were the best of all!!
