Another slightly odd lighthearted thread!

I've realised that I really love the smell of dust burning on a radiator Blush

Anyone else?

First thing in the morning between winter and the beginning of spring this amazing sweet fresh smell in the air

GreenEggsAndHamPlease · 05/10/2021 21:29

Flip flops
Blown out candles
My DS forehead (he's 12 now so I don't get to sniff very often)
Window cleaner and car screen wash

shallIswim · 05/10/2021 21:29

The laundry detergent aisle in the supermarket

shallIswim · 05/10/2021 21:29

My dog's toes

Toottooot · 05/10/2021 21:30

The smell of chlorine on my skin before I shower after swimming.

Fozzleyplum · 05/10/2021 21:31

Petrichor
My cats' paws
New books
Old books
Steam engines
Ogden's St Bruno Flake before it is smoked (reminds me of my late dad)
My newborn babies' heads

I have a (now discontinued, I think) scent by Miller Harris, called L'air de Rien. It is reminiscent of old books.

Newsagents. Empty mint tic tac boxes. Musty churches. Hairdressers.

Hugoslavia · 05/10/2021 21:39

That waxy hot tarmac scented air when you step off a plane onto the runway in the evening.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/10/2021 21:42

The way the London Underground used to smell 40 years ago

Photo copied pages especially purple ink when the teacher used to rustle up 30 copies and the ink was wet ( this was the late 70s/early 80s)

Proper Swan Vesta matches , pink ones struck on the sandpaper strip on the box

Little fur coated rodents in deep hay smell

Those "Quickies" cleansing pads in a blue tub , again years ago .

crapatthis1 · 05/10/2021 21:42

Pledge spray.

waybill · 05/10/2021 21:43

That smell of crushed grass when you go into a marquee at a summer fete.

WhatIsThisPlease · 05/10/2021 21:44

The inside of a brand new pair of rubber gloves.

mineofuselessinformation · 05/10/2021 21:44

@70isaLimitNotaTarget, that would be the result of the much-loved Banda machine. It was a bit like using carbon paper. The liquid used to transfer the original on to the copy had a very distinctive smell!

Hugoslavia · 05/10/2021 21:45

Oh god. Those Quickies! They smelt bloody amazing.we only ever had them on holidays though.

HateJudgmentalPeople · 05/10/2021 21:46

I love the smell of turpentine and freshly painted walls, plus magic markers but I’d get high if I sniffed it for too long.Grin

SunShinesBrightly · 05/10/2021 21:48

Hospitals.
I don’t know what disinfectant they use but they all smell the same.

SunShinesBrightly · 05/10/2021 21:49

Newspaper and magazine paper.

MissJeanBrodiesprime · 05/10/2021 21:50

The smell of diesel and oil, reminds me of childhood holidays going abroad on the ferry.

Hot asphalt
Creosote

catfunk · 05/10/2021 21:53

When I was a kid my friends grandma always smelled lovely like yeast and I used to love snuggling with her. Turns out she was an alcoholic and that's what I could smell.

Wherearemymarbles · 05/10/2021 21:54

Leather
Old musty books or leather cases

indignatio · 05/10/2021 21:55

For the photocopier I thought of the Gestetner Machine we had at school and I have a mental link from there to the pea pod smell of invisible ink

AlexandraEiffel · 05/10/2021 21:57
