Another slightly odd lighthearted thread!

I've realised that I really love the smell of dust burning on a radiator Blush

Anyone else?

I love sniffing permanent markers although it’s probably not good for me. I got dd scented gel pens just so I could smell them when we’re colouring.

Also love the wet smell after it’s been raining. I find it so soothing.

@FortunesFavour

Petrol! I’ve always loved the smell of it, v strange.
No, sorry to say, that's not unusual.

But I love it too!

LadyLolaRuben · 05/10/2021 21:04

Yes I put the heating on yesterday and smelt the same OP!

As others have said - tarmac, new carpet, dogs/cats paws, horses, puppies

Other favourites of mine - new car, new leather, freshly cut grass, cigarette smoke in a pub garden on a summers day, fireworks

MrsCatE · 05/10/2021 21:04

My childhood cat smelled like fresh ironing.

AuntieJoyce · 05/10/2021 21:04

Oh OP i love the radiator smell. It reminds me of Christmas. On reflection that’s probably because my parents only ran the heating at Christmas hence the dust Grin

I also love the back of the tv smell

Hotbrush, fanheaters anything slightly singed really

LastToBePicked · 05/10/2021 21:06

Ah yes the smell of dust the first day the heating goes on is fabulous.

My favourite smell is Wickes. No other DIY store smells as good.

Twattergy · 05/10/2021 21:10

Hot European city/town smell, mix of warm tarmac, bins, cigarettes, coffee and food. For me that is a smell of holidays, and the biggest difference I noticed between London and Europe when I was young on holidays.

SoMuchToGive · 05/10/2021 21:11

Ditto the smell of dust on a heater - reminds me of long-lost relatives visiting (hence fire on in the front room) and also of our static caravan when we arrived for the weekend after it had been closed up. And also at the caravan (we didn’t have a lawn at home) - the wonderful smell of freshly-cut grass. Smile. Can still see my late dad mowing the lawn and me and my late mum playing ‘tennis’ in that grass.

Evasmissingletter · 05/10/2021 21:11

Tomatoes growing in a greenhouse. Reminds me of my grandpa

Rubber.🤭 When I grew up in Australia there was a shop called Clark’s, they sold above ground pools, rubber things like flip flops and snorkelling gear, bike tyres and all sorts of non kinky rubber stuff. I used to love going in for a sniff. Mac does a perfume that smells like it. Makes my mouth water.
