I'm on a really good pregnancy group for my birth month on Facebook and I'm really missing it tonight :(

Might go for a nice bath and have a bit of a pamper instead!

@Elderflower14 I remember your threads about Wilf. How is he. What a worry for him not to be able to get hold of you on WhatsApp.

I have to say I’m totally reliant on it too. My DB lives in Australia and he doesn’t have a landline, we used to iMessage til he got a new phone. So WhatsApp is our only form of coms. Scary.

Thankyou. He's chatting on Twitter messenger to me now.. He's very upset as EE is down too and he can't contact his support workers.

A lot of people have anxiety around phone calls, it's quite common really

What is the angst though? I suppose if you are expecting a difficult call or bad news then fair enough, but chatting to friends and family-that's nice.
Disclaimer-I spent many an hour sat on the stairs as a teen chatting to my friends that I'd just spent all day with, phoned my Granny every week, and every job I've ever had involved speaking to people on the phone. I don't think teenagers have to do it enough now. If you wanted to make an appointment/plans when I was young you had to pick the phone up.

...but chatting to friends and family-that's nice.

I am not a phone person and I don't answer my door now I have Ring.

I do think that the comments on this thread are very harsh!! Great if you are irritated by FB,Wattsap Instagram…you all have the option to switch off at any time !! Many people only have the opportunity to connect with SM because it’s cheaper,hearing problems and other problems!!

I’ve just got a message on my iPhone stating my fb password has appeared in a data leek and to change my password immediately. I’ve no idea if this is part of fb being down. I can’t change my password because fb in down!!
Wasn't there a MN leek emoticon (showing my age) years ago?

Could it be as a result of a terrorist attack- not the attack causing it, but social media being taken down by government as a result of the attack?

Everyone in my house has Internet except me it seems. I'm having to use my data. No one has any WhatsApp or Facebook but Netflix is okay and needs to stay that way Grin

But wouldn't that have included Twitter and everything else? And can the government just flick a switch and take down social media, just like that?

My DC's primary school sets a tonne of homework every evening. Usually WhatsApp is pinging away as people in my mums group ask for photos of books their DC have forgotten/ask for dates of tests etc.

Irritatingly Id posted on the class group asking if anyone has seen DS1's coat (one of his bullies has hidden it grrrr) before seeing that it wasn't working.

Phone or texts are fine for 1:1. WhatsApp is brilliant for group messages

@Sparklingbrook maybe not. I remember during the London terror attacks all mobile networks went down but this is different. No idea what’s going on.
