Uncommon opinions

I hate travelling. Don’t like going on holidays and I don’t like staying in hotels.

Most people live boring average lives (myself included). So much feels pointless since we all end up in the same position in the end.

Life is dull most of the time.

Most marriages are like roommates with occasional sex thrown in.

And you? What uncommon opinions do you have?

I agree with almost everything posted so far.

Can't be doing with those posters that see a thread like this and get over-excited just waiting to be offended

Dasher789 · 04/10/2021 00:08

I have agreed with most of these - although big mayo fan Grin

Those of us living in Scotland should pay for prescriptions. The NHS is struggling, surely the cash would help. There are options in England in place for those with long term requirements or low income to not pay/pay less so similar could be applied. Alternatively, any meds that can be purchased for less than a tenner should not be allowed to be prescribed.

Judith0000 · 04/10/2021 00:12

Ultra processed foods are responsible for the dire physical and mental health of millions of people worldwide and virtually nothing is being done about it.

MyMabel · 04/10/2021 00:21

Snogging is vomit-worthy. Never been a fan.

Equally so for PDA’s.

Bacon is sliced salty yuk.

A big glass of cold milk is better at quenching thirst than water.. (despite me being lactose intolerant)

Gender disappointment should be talked about more and normalised, nearly everyone has a preference and it’s perfectly fine to be initially disappointed - you don’t often hear about mums disowning their children because they wanted the opposite, compared to how many didn’t get what they wanted (despite the 50/50 chance)

Baths are overrated. By the time you’re in long enough to relax it’s gone cold, they’re never comfortable enough to lie comfortable in and after 5 minutes of the initial ‘this is nice’ you just find yourself staring at the ceiling, seals, taps or reading the shampoo bottles. Boring!

spotcheck · 04/10/2021 00:21

People may not be rude to waiters/ waitresses, but they will treat people differently according to their job. Most people treat admin staff differently to middle management. Tis the same thing

WhatsTheEffingPoint · 04/10/2021 00:23

If you choose to bring a child into this world, it's your responsibility to provide for it and raise it. You having a child does not put you above those that don't and you shouldn't inflict said child and your choices for the child on others.

DerAlteMann · 04/10/2021 00:26

Tories are not all evil bastards.
The SNP will, if they succeed in their aims, be the worst thing to have happened to Scotland since the Duke of Cumberland.
Foreign holidays are generally a wate of money.

giggly · 04/10/2021 00:28

Oh which to choose firstGrin
Today it is those women/ men with plumped up lips, fucking ridiculous fake eyelashes, eyebrows brushed up/ painted with a steam roller, and don’t start me on the highlighter on the tip of your nose. I mean wtf is wrong with subtle make up?

giggly · 04/10/2021 00:30

@DerAlteMann and that is where we completely disagree. Independence is the only way for Scotland to flourish and I’m not a fan of the SNP right now, but I detest the Union.

DamnUserName21 · 04/10/2021 00:51

In the UK, political correctness is going way too far. People being reported to the police for their opinions on controversial issues (trans, for instance) or banned from talking about controversial topics at universities.
I'm all for equality and diversity but I wish we would, as a society, stop asking for details on pronouns, gender identity, sex, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation. I'm not sure if it's an 'affirmative action' benefit any longer.

Agapornis · 04/10/2021 00:54

@Puffalicious

I can't be doing with weddings: they're mainly samey, a bit cringy and a total and utter waste of lots of money. I particularly can't stand the never ending photos.
I HATE weddings. The waiting around until the next bit, the long hours between food, the chit chat to people I don't know and I'll never see again, the venues that never have public transport. What a waste of what could have been a fun party.
EmergencyHydrangea · 04/10/2021 00:55

@Ironfloor269

I hate Christmas movies. What is the point of watching the same movie again and again every year? And they are not even good ones. Like, Love, Actually....really? And Home Fucking Alone? I mean, it was ok the first time but every year?
Excuse you, The Muppet Christmas Carol is a masterpiece

Agree with this. I’m English with long term health problems and have 10 separate drugs a month. I pay £10 a month for them all under the prepayment service. Even if everyone in the devolved nations did that it would raise a lot of money towards the NHS and unless you’re really, incredibly poor is no skin off your nose (and even in England there are options for those on benefits/low incomes/with certain conditions and illnesses/pregnant and postnatal).
TrampolineForMrKite · 04/10/2021 01:02

@EmergencyHydrangea yeah it is! MCC fo’ life!

I totally agree with this. People say they don't, but they do. I used to be a manager and for health reasons now do an admin job. It is a good job and I enjoy it, but you I do feel the lower status thing from others.
julieca · 04/10/2021 01:35

Judging people is not necessarily wrong. If you really think you should never judge people then you are stupid.
I do judge the parents for example who are always snappy and horrible to young children and without an ounce of kindness in how they interact with their own children.

XenoBitch · 04/10/2021 01:42

I hate the animal rescue videos that are all over FB. I am not talking about rescuers trying to capture a poorly dog, or similar... I am on about people "rescuing" animals from what would be a natural course of events for most. Anthropomorphising all over the place. No, the bee you just fed sugar to is not hanging around as a way to thank you.

RobertaFirmino · 04/10/2021 01:48

Toast dresses are fucking awful. Overpriced burial shrouds.

Agreed on both the mayo and prescription points.

Even a flat rate £1 fee per prescription for anyone over 18 would provide a decent income surely?!

I'm incredibly grateful that we have free healthcare here in Scotland but I don't think it's sustainable.

UnicornBeach · 04/10/2021 02:52

Really don’t like dogs, they irritate me, the hairs, the smell and ugh the ones that jump all over you.

MakeMineAdoubleChocolate · 04/10/2021 03:16

Lip fillers are hideous.
Pork is vile. There's a reason why Muslims don't eat it.
Alcohol is a big waste of money.

Nat6999 · 04/10/2021 03:37

I hate holidays, I'm a homebird & can think of nothing worse than sleeping in a strange bed.

LobsterNapkin · 04/10/2021 03:37

The puffed up lips that are popular now look like some sort of anal prolapse.

I suspect a lot of these, especially involving dogs and cats, are faked.

TinySongstress · 04/10/2021 03:43

Sons of Anarchy is shit.

The darlings of daytime tv, Holly Willoughby & Lorraine Kelly? Just no.

New builds are horrendous, cheap, badly planned, unimaginative little boxes spreading across the countryside like the pox.

There are TOO MANY people.

Fish, as a food stuff, is a horrible concept.

Marchitectmummy · 04/10/2021 03:45

Houses with dogs in always smell - dog owners never believe this, doesn't matter how often the dog is washed, how much its teeth are brushed they all have a smell a sort of oily smell.

People with dirty houses are generally lazy people, mental and physical health to one side, but all other houses come on its not hard to be clean and tidy.

2nd homes are fine and are not the problem people want to believe they are.
