Wayne Couzens experience in prison?

Obviously I don't care how he gets treated but do you think other prisoners are going to give him a tough time especially since he's ex police and especially since what he did?

OP posts:
SuperstarDog · 01/10/2021 20:01

You have to question anybody who thinks they're justified in making a person eat shit.

Not when that person has kidnapped, raped murdered and burnt someone’s daughter. That persons nutrition is my absolute lowest priority.

SmellyOldOwls · 01/10/2021 20:01

'From my experience of working in prisons housing high risk, and being present in the kitchens when meals were being prepped and cooked, the meals are very closely monitored and watched by staff. The prisoners also don't know which meal is going to who, especially when going to the isolation/medical and other 'off wing' blocks. They don't even know if it is their own meal. That's organised by prison staff.

They simply can't target another specific prisoner's meal in this way, in my experience.'

Yeah, I think some posters here have been watching too much TV.

LizzieSiddal · 01/10/2021 20:04

As a society we need to look at why so many prisoners are
Care leavers
mentally ill
Disproportionately from BAME background
Disproportionately from socioeconomically deprived background

That animal is none of those things and this thread is about that particular animal

If you wish to talk about why there are many disadvantaged people in prison, maybe start another thread.

EspressoDoubleShot · 01/10/2021 20:06

No Lizzie I won’t start another thread and I won’t be chastised by you

Theythinkitsalloveritisnow · 01/10/2021 20:07

@lolawasashowgirl and to quote yourself back at you, this is a discussion- you don't get to decide the outcome. It seems to be fairly polarized- could perhaps describe it as the empathic normal humans vs the self righteous moralists. But anyway, you'll always think you're right, and the better person and it won't occur to you to wonder why other posters are venting and not consulting the handbook of human rights law tonight.

00100001 · 01/10/2021 20:08

@SuperstarDog

How are you any different to him, if you're treating him inhumanely just as he treated Sarah inhumanely?

How fucking dare you accuse posters who are angry at what this monster did to Sarah as being no different to him. How fucking dare you. Sarah was an innocent woman. This man is a violent piece of shit who raped and murdered her and you compare people not being worried about his diet to what he did. You’re fucking twisted and I question who you are behind your screen and what your motives are.

Because, no matter his crime, he IS a human being. Yes an awful human being that has done terrible things. And he is being punished within our laws.

However, there's a fine line.

When is it acceptable, in your opinion to feed a person shit as part of their punishment?

When they rape and murder someone? What if they 'only' violently murdered them? No they deserve shit too... What about rapists? Shit. Ok, they murdered someone, but it wasn't as violent, but then ...it is murder, they have shit. Well that person over there, they killed someone, wasn't murder no, but they killed someone, they deserve shit. That person there? They nearly killed someone... That's almost as bad, they have shit too. That prisoner over there? He held someone up at knife point, stabbed them...didn't kill them but did rob them... Shit!

Where does it fucking end???

LizzieSiddal · 01/10/2021 20:10

Espresso I have chastised you.

Northernsouloldies · 01/10/2021 20:10

I hope he see's out his sentence till his last breath. I highlighted on another thread that not enjoying the wee pleasures of life again is the punishment. No walks along a beach, hearing and seeing nature, choosing what you eat, wear, going out. Imagine the drudgery of a fixed routine for the rest of your natural. That's the punishment. I just hope he doesn't get a quick get out with suicide. I don't get the thirst for jail justice at the hands of other despicable bastards that also deserve to be in prison.

UrbanRambler · 01/10/2021 20:11

Yes, OP, his life will be awful and he'll soon wish he was dead. Maybe one of the other prisoners will execute him and do the tax payers a favour, but if not he might kill himself. I can't imagine he'll get many visitors as his family have probably disowned him, and when he's gone I doubt anyone will grieve for his loss. Some people object to threads like this, but I think it might help some people to realise that his punishment is going to be hellish, because people feel so angry and upset about what he did that there is a desire for revenge. It's not a nice side to human nature, but understandable.

Maybe he is mentally ill if he thinks raping and murdering a woman and abusing his position is something he should be doing?

Well, feel free to suggest to the CPS etc that shit eating should be part of punishments in UK prisons... For people YOU think deserve it.

Good luck

lolawasashowgirl · 01/10/2021 20:13

@Theythinkitsalloveritisnow spot on it's a discussion with no set conclusion - feel free to try and spot my posts where I've tried to stop someone expressing their opinion using insults and making personal assumptions a bit like.....you! You'll be looking for a long time. I just don't agree with you and you don't like it.

LuluJakey1 · 01/10/2021 20:13

@00100001

He is not someone where there is any risk that he has been wrongly accused or wrongly convicted.

I think he has forfeited his right to human contact, comfort, warmth, care, exercise, entertainment and any semblance of content or happiness or peace of mind, sunlight or love for the rest of his life. He certainly took all of that away from Sarah Everard.

LizzieSiddal · 01/10/2021 20:14

He’s not mentally ill otherwise this would have come out at his sentencing.

Well, you're wrong. Thankfully.

I am saying that if the punishment is "acceptable" to you, you have to consider those wrongfully imprisoned.

I didn't know why you haven't answered that question...

Because fundamentally human rights should be observed perhaps?

Well, what motivated a perfectly sane person to do this??
Theythinkitsalloveritisnow · 01/10/2021 20:17

@00100001 I don't really want to have to reply to you, because I'm pretty sure I know what you're trying to achieve on this thread, but re mental illness he will have been assessed by psychiatrists for the defence as well as prosecution and there has been no mention of him having any kind of mitigation due to mental illness.

SuperstarDog · 01/10/2021 20:17

Why are you so worried about what angry posters on here think? They don’t actually get to decide what he’s going to eat or how he’s going to be treated. And they’re not necessarily thinking about the wider judicial system. They are just angry tonight about this particular person. Whatever is said on here by angry people will not affect anything, people are just angry. There are laws that protect prisoners, you don’t need to protect them on here. Read the room. And if you don’t, and you continue to insist on protecting them on a mainly women’s forum, then you will also make no difference by doing so, but you will get angry posters directing their anger at you.
Of all the things to come out of this, you want to focus on telling people why the rapist and killer needs to be treated well. It’s an odd thing to focus on at this time.

olidora63 · 01/10/2021 20:18

@BlurpBlorp

I hope he rots slowly in a cell with only his thoughts for company and a growing understanding of the horrors he inflicted on that poor woman. I'm in tears today reading about what Sarah went through, and incandescent for her grieving family and friends. I'm so scared for my DDs, as a mother. Sarah's mother's statement has broken my heart. I hope he has no rest, no peace, just pain and fear for the rest of his life. Never thought I'd wish that on someone but the extent to which he planned it.
This 100% .I don’t think I could stay in this world if this had been my daughter .

Absolutely not mentally ill. There would have been assessments and screening. If he were mentally ill it would have featured in sentencing and destination

I just find it horrifying that people so quickly descend into saying such dreadful things. And the baying mobs agree tomsuch awful things.

I'm allowed to defend any person's human rights thanks.

It's fine to be angry. Of course it is. But to seriously agree that another human being should be fed shit is fucking awful.

No, you don't think you're just in a discussion you think you're a superior person. To me you just seem very cold and lacking in humanity.
I just don't agree with you and you don't like it Hmm .Believe me, having read your posts, in fact I'm very very happy you don't agree with me.
