Well, that LAST THREAD filled up much faster - so glad so many of us are finding this a place of comfort. How lucky we are to have so many of us on standby to hold our fears and worries, so that we can rest.

No questions asked, no solutions given, just the offer of a place to lay down our burdens. All are welcome.

lisalisa · 17/09/2024 21:25

Pls hold my worry and provide comfort if you can ; I’m feeling vulnerable and scared with two infections in my body neither of which seem responsive to antibiotics at the moment . Im
scared

FinallyHere · 17/09/2024 22:08

I've got you @lisalisa

Sorry to hear you have these things to bear.

Put them all down right here, I'll keep them safe. You relax and get some sleep.

lisalisa · 17/09/2024 22:16

@FinallyHere those kind words made me well up thank you . I feel very vulnerable , in pain and scared right now . I need to wait up till 12 to have my antibiotics but it’s nice to feel that someone’s in the nightvwatch x thank you

Waitymatey · 18/09/2024 00:37

Hello
can I please just drop off some related related worry- stresses for the night shift to hold so I can get some sleep? Thank you

DidSomebodySaySiamese · 18/09/2024 01:53

@Waitymatey if you are not already asleep know that I’ve got your worries and that you can rest easy now. I’ve compressed all of your upset so that you need not think of it tonight.

Northlights · 18/09/2024 14:44

@lisalisa here for the day shift but come back and update us . The night time is always the hardest when you are ill I think. I hope you have some improvement today .

This thread is incredible

It is ! I think it was started by a Mumsnet tee with a cancer diagnosis , I would love an update from her. It's been a real help to me at times , sometimes you just need to get your worries out in print and knowing other people are around is a bonus !

Waitymatey · 18/09/2024 19:39

Thank you- I did manage to sleep, woke in the small hours then managed to sleep again. I hadn’t seen your update and actually awoke feeling as though all my worries had been compressed to a much smaller area of my brain- thank you 💐

2018SoFarSoGreat · 18/09/2024 19:49

I'm glad you got some rest @Waitymatey. It's amazing how leaving your worries here works so well!

@Northlights and anyone else around now . I have to go in almost certainly for IV antibiotics tomorrow as the infection is still spreading . I’m scared and too scared even to give this to the lovely night shift to hold . Can anyone talk to me ?

it's good they are going to give you IVs they will really get on top of things hopefully? Do you have to go in early ?

Hall84 · 19/09/2024 00:07

I'm awake. As my yoga teacher says, breathe in for 4 and out for 4. It's your count, its your breath. Perhaps walk in your mind to your favourite place (I like the beach . . ) in for 4 and out for 4

Hall84 · 19/09/2024 00:09

I'll hold your worry tonight so you can breathe and rest easy.

lisalisa · 19/09/2024 00:48

Thanks both of you . Stupid Google . I’ve discovered inflammatory breast cancer and now understand why they rushed me to ultrasound and wanted to don the biopsy there and then and see so worried about the spread .
my symptoms seem to fit exactly .
I can’t sleep . I’m crying and so frightened

Northlights · 19/09/2024 21:30

@lisalisa hello - I hope you don't have to stay too long in hospital and you have everything you need to make you feel more comfortable. Sending love and light for some sleep tonight .

lisalisa · 19/09/2024 23:00

Thanks @Northlights x
if anyone’s around to chat that’d be lovely . Had my final dos of IV antibiotics tonight but can’t sleep . I miss my home and dh and children

lisalisa · 19/09/2024 23:01

Thank you @FinallyHere . I alternate between feeling very scared and more positive

Seriouslymole · 19/09/2024 23:21

I’m here @lisalisa. I think feeling scared is perfectly normal, but I can take a turn holding the fear and worry for a bit if you can let me.
