Home alone without kids for the next few days. Going to treat myself to a few nice easy dinners/snacks from m&s. Am ordering from ocado so not going to the shop

What would people recommend? I don't shop there often!

@hartof

Colin the caterpillar in a jar is a must 😻
Are they worth the money? I was looking at all the different ones whilst queuing the other day and couldn't decide if they were worth £4!
Billandben444 · 25/08/2021 23:57

Colin in the jar is massive and actually quite good value - there's too much in there for one.

MordredsOrrery · 25/08/2021 23:58

@opulentalligatorsalt - might have been quicker to ask what isn't good! We're going to be in the vicinity of an M&S food on Friday and now I have a massive shopping list thanks to this thread Grin

I may have to give it a try then! I'm sure I saw a raspberry ripple one too which sounds delicious 😋

Cauliflower popcorn

Sticky toffee trifle

Nutty wholefood salad

Chip off the old block chocolate popcorn

Milk, white and dark chocolate icecream

They doubtless deserved it. Little buggers.

Their new peanut satay dip is sooooo much better than it sounds.
Also in the deli range the cheese & marmite pinwheels, the burrata, the mini cheese muffins and the mini pulled pork taco things. And the curried cauliflower popcorn.
I have also been known to buy their chocolate birthday cake when it isn’t anyone’s birthday.

Strokethefurrywall · 26/08/2021 05:21

I’ve not lived in the UK for 13 odd years but I deeply miss the chicken and sweetcorn sandwiches on multigrain bread, the egg and bacon sandwiches, and the mini chocolate bites that come in a tub.

Pretty sure that there’s a fuck ton more I’m missing after more than a decade….

liveforsummer · 26/08/2021 06:12

@MrsSkylerWhite

I honestly can’t understand why people think M&S processed food is good? Homemade is generally so much tastier. Packaged food is so bland.
Did you miss the part where OP says she's home alone and wants quick easy meals instead of spending time home cooking for one ? And I assure you all the (delicious) fat and salt in an M&S ready meal means they are far from bland.

OP I echo the poster who said the lamb samosas, in fact all their curry ready meal stuff is far superior to anywhere else. I often treat myself when dc are away. The garlic and corriander naans, poppadoms and pickle pots, hot tikka masala and pilau rice on the side of my delicious samosas in front of Netflix

liveforsummer · 26/08/2021 06:15

Oh and for some added vitamins, their raspberries and blueberries are nicer than any Asda and the likes can ever come up with

liveforsummer · 26/08/2021 06:21

Oh and the chilli and lemon prawn linguine is a very delicious meal in minutes. I get the one meant for 2 Blush

AristotlesTrousers · 26/08/2021 06:29

If they still do it, the M&S apricot Swiss roll is fantastic!

merrygoround88 · 26/08/2021 07:22

Cheese and Serrano rollitos and any of the Indian curries. They are incredible

cantgetmyheadroundit · 26/08/2021 13:24

This seems like the place to ask - they used to do a tray of little ham and cream cheese swirly things, and I haven't seen them for years. Does anyone know if they're still around?

notthe1Parrot · 26/08/2021 15:11

The new potatoes - you just tip them straight into the pan. Already washed and I’ve never had to cut out a single dodgy bit.

You can definitely get them at Christmas, and I think they are in the entertain grange you need to pre order them. I LOVE them!
cantgetmyheadroundit · 26/08/2021 17:00

@idontlikealdi Thank you! I am going to order a fuck tonne of them this year then, and eat them all myself 🐽

Nonicknamesforcatapillars · 26/08/2021 17:32

Those plastic tubs of mini chocolate Swiss rolls 😋 very dangerous, but very delicious.

I like their Chinese box meals, I think they’re for 2 so depends how greedy you’re feeling.

Their pasta salads are amazing. Also pretty much all their sweets and crisps.

I find it’s all good really. Just pick what you fancy abs I’m sure it’ll be yummy!

saladcreamandegg · 26/08/2021 18:20

@opulentalligatorsalt .... we're now all waiting to know what treats you opted for! 😁😁

yourstroobly · 26/08/2021 18:35

Oh babe you tried the passion fruit roll?! AMAZING!

yourstroobly · 26/08/2021 18:35

Blush *have not babe. Lol

WellTidy · 26/08/2021 19:00

The raspberry iced fingers in a pack of five
Apple and cinnamon hot cross buns
The deal on Chinese food is usually two mains and two sides - the lemon chicken is fantastic so you could have two of those and two packs of six duck spring rolls which would be a bargain

The yoghurts in little glass jars for 80p each are amazing. Ds likes the toffee one and I like the cherry tone

The chocolate eclairs

The pulled pork sausage rolls

The bbq/pulled pork little pastries which come in a pack of four and are part of the three for £7 range, just buy three of them

Actually, all those pastries are lovely

The tubs of orange chocolate mini rolls especially, but all those tubs are great

Triple cooked chips - they are the dogs - they come in a box

The bearnaise sauce that comes in a little tub and the wagu steaks - hardly any cooking needed!

WellTidy · 26/08/2021 19:01

The strawberry and cream Swiss roll is fantastic too

WellTidy · 26/08/2021 19:02

And the chocolate teacakes (biscuit base, Marshmallow on top and coveeed in chocolate) - been having these for 35+ years

SeaDreaming · 26/08/2021 19:08

I popped in to m&s this afternoon off the back of this thread Blush

My quest for crackling straws failed (our store doesn't stock them for reasons unknown), but I did triumphantly return with pickled red onions - looking fwd to trying them! Plus a chunk of yellow label half price stuff: a few big packs of ground Colombian coffee, a few packs of pasta, some Brittany butter and some Sicilian lemon cheesecake for luck. Everything save the cheesecake has a long BBE, I wonder if it's been reduced because they're changing the packaging or something?
Thanks for this thread, OP!👍🍋🍰
Next time I'm in there I'm SO tempted to get a croque monsieur wreath...
