Just heard it on the radio. It knocked me for six.
He was only 59. One of the funniest men on telly and radio.
RIP Sean

That’s gutting. Such a funny man and 58 is no age.

Toooldforthis321 · 18/08/2021 12:20

Such a funny man, I used to enjoy 8 out of 10 cats. Think I might watch a rerun, he made the show funny.
How sad.

Iputthetrampintrampoline · 18/08/2021 12:20

Terrible news ..thoughts with his family and friends who must be devastated RIP Sean gone way too soon xxx

LanaDelBoy · 18/08/2021 12:20

Oh my god, how awful. I had no idea he had cancer. I used to be a big fan, went to gigs, his sitcom was great. Sympathies to his family and friends. Flowers

MrsJackGrealish · 18/08/2021 12:22

Oh how gutting.

He was so genuinely funny, even when he wasnt trying to be.

Iloveginger · 18/08/2021 12:22

That is shocking. No age at all. He was so funny and talented. RIP Sean Lock.

PurpleVerbena · 18/08/2021 12:23

@SundaySheAteChocolate - Sorry, I am not being respectful - very sad when anyone that young dies, but I genuinely have never heard of him.

lilmishap · 18/08/2021 12:25

How have people never heard of him? He turns up everywhere he's on several times a night on repeats and live tv, I'm not buying that you've never seen a TV showing adverts for his shows at some point in your life

@PurpleVerbena well maybe just move on then or go and Google. No need to announce that you have never heard of him.

HmmmmmmInteresting · 18/08/2021 12:26

This is really upsetting. He was my favourite.

theemmadilemma · 18/08/2021 12:26

I hadn't realised he was ill, so was so shocked.

Very sad. Excellent comedian. I imagine they might do some sort of tribute. It would be fitting.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 18/08/2021 12:27

oh no!Sad
he was such a funny & talented dude.

my favourite joke of his was is: "Did you know that sharks will only attack you if you are wet?" 🤣 on of the best opening lines ever.

RIP Sean, much love to your family, friends and all who'll miss youFlowers

Candleabra · 18/08/2021 12:29

RIP. A big favourite of mine. I had no idea he was ill. Genuinely sad to read the news today.

newnortherner111 · 18/08/2021 12:29

RIP and thoughts for his family and friends as they mourn.

TempNameChangexx · 18/08/2021 12:33

Did he get to National Treasure status?

If it's up to me, yes - definitely
He was so funny and seemed like a genuinely nice man.
So many of the tributes have said how lovely he was.
Many "celeb" deaths don't really affect me but this one has
(possibly because he's a year younger than me, so feels far too young to die)

Felix125 · 18/08/2021 12:35

Loved his humour - really made me laugh over the years.

Sounds like he was a very private man off the camera and kept his family & private life out of the media spotlight. Similar to Victoria Wood - another devastating day for me when she passed away too.

SecretKeeper1 · 18/08/2021 12:35

Saw him live twice, definitely one of my favourites and also loved him on Cats. Very sad news Sad

roundtable · 18/08/2021 12:36

Really sad news. His poor family. Flowers

WhateverHappenedToFayWray · 18/08/2021 12:38

Oh that is sad - he always came across as being a really nice person as well as very funny. Heartbreaking for his family and friends.

SW1amp · 18/08/2021 12:44

He did an episode of the Lockdown Parenting podcast and came across as a really lovely, kind, funny guy who cleared adored his family
What an awful loss for them all

TheVolturi · 18/08/2021 12:45

Rip Sean Flowers

Pedestriancrossing · 18/08/2021 12:48

Really sad news. Saw him live about 10 years ago and he was brilliant, so witty and smart. RIP Sean you will be missed.

Furries · 18/08/2021 12:51

So sad. Fantastic sense of humour - and his style of delivery was just perfect.

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba - that shark joke was hilarious!
