Where's somewhere you've visited but wouldn't want to go back to?

Positive and negative!

I went to Las Vegas, glad I went, but no desire to return! :)

Would never return to Warwick Castle. It's quite over rated...and not much even happened there, it just looks the part! :)

Pontins Camber Sands.

11 years later "why" still hasn't returned an explanation of why we went at all.

felulageller · 22/07/2021 18:37

Tenby- so boring. Not that pretty. Don't know why people like it!

Cote D'Azur nothing special

Violetparis · 22/07/2021 18:38

Went on a weeks holiday to Norfolk a couple of weeks ago, would never go back, dull and dreary.

You’re just trying to keep people away. A genuinely picturesque walled town with three beautiful beaches? And the Cote D’Azur is nothing special in what way?
MagicSummer · 22/07/2021 18:42

@MarieIVanArkleStinks - definitely recommend Cape Canaveral. We spent a whole day there and I found it absolutely fascinating, but then I always did like the whole space flight thing in the 60s/70s. I would certainly recommend it if you have the slightest interest in spacey things. Also recommend Vero Beach - beautiful!

FangsForTheMemory · 22/07/2021 18:43

@dappledthings the problem is Malta is sold as a sun holiday destination and there's one beach on the whole island! There's loads of interesting stuff and I agree with you about the bus service but the guys were awful. As a woman travelling alone, it's the worst place I've been to.

Abhannmor · 22/07/2021 18:44

@Cam77

Dublin is a great place to live (well, much of it is), but you’ve got to do your homework as a tourist. It isn’t a “pretty” city for the most part, so unless you know what you’re looking for you’ll leave unimpressed.
Agree. Avoid Temple Bar - all hen parties etc. Jump on the Dart to Howth or Killiney. Bit of research on singing pubs , museums.
LastSummerHere · 22/07/2021 18:45

So often it seems like men are the issue in turning what should be a wonderful holiday into Hell for women.😞

ApolloandDaphne · 22/07/2021 18:45

@WeatherwaxLives

Arbroath

Nothing particularly wrong with it, just... nothing there... (also I'm allergic to fish, which is the main attraction!) not really sure why I went in the first place, actually.

Also Sterling, or at least, I wouldn't go there in October. Honestly, I'd believe you if you told me it was colder in Sterling than the North Pole. I've never experienced cold like it!

Sterling as in the furniture store or Stirling the city?
Spidey66 · 22/07/2021 18:45

@careerchangeperhaps

Los Angeles. Glad I've been but it was a shithole and I have no desire to revisit.
No i wasnt mad. Too spread out and shit public transport.
LysistrataVickers · 22/07/2021 18:47

London. Hate it.

ApolloandDaphne · 22/07/2021 18:47

Dubai: Beautiful hotel but hotter than satan's ass and nothing to do apart from shop in an air conditioned mall. Thankfully it was just a few days stop off on the way home from somewhere else.

Soontobe60 · 22/07/2021 18:48

Barbados! Paid a bloody fortune for a week in a supposedly 5 all inclusive West Coast hotel only to find it was, at best, 3, had no beach, food was awful, average age of guest was about 80 and lights out were at 11pm every night.

shewalkslikerihanna · 22/07/2021 18:49

I think Worcester is lovely

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/07/2021 18:50

I've been to Florida and have never set foot in a theme park there

Glad to know there are still some of us left Wink

Agree with you about the humidity though - it's why high season is actually the "winter" - but I honestly wish folk realised just how much more there is than the blasted parks

Spidey66 · 22/07/2021 18:50

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

Holloway Prison

(Not really, I haven't been there... yet)

You wont do now. It closed about 3 years back. Its going to be demolished and turned into flats. Fortunately at least some of them will be rented out by Peabody Trust.
felulageller · 22/07/2021 18:51

Paris no decent parks/green spaces. Very obvious racial divide with all the black street sweepers.
Grubby and overpriced.

Brighton worst beach ever!
More depressing than Blackpool!

Lanzarote - it's nicknamed lanzagrotty for a reason!

LoveFall · 22/07/2021 18:52

Also LA. It is crowded with homeless people and quite dirty. Traffic is awful.

We went on a tour to Hollywood and were very disappointed. Nothing to see really except names on the sidewalk.

We did enjoy the Getty Museum but getting there was a traffic nightmare.

southern82 · 22/07/2021 18:54

I didn't like Paris, too much graffiti.
Hated Rome, graffiti and too many beggars.
Can't stand Aberdovey in Wales, most boring place I've ever been.
Not a fan of New York, it all felt samey and a little boring after 4 days

MagicSummer · 22/07/2021 18:56

I agree! I hate Disney with a vengeance - would never, ever go there. My friend lives in Cape Coral so makes flights to Fort Myers convenient. I also love Naples and Sanibel/Captiva and the fantastic Ding Darling nature reserve. It's so beautiful, but the best thing is definitely the drive to Key West. I would love to do it again but DH hates 'repeating' holidays.
PyongyangKipperbang · 22/07/2021 18:56

Disney in Paris.

Utter shithole. Total waste of money and the worst customer service ever. I say this as someone who loves France and have never had an issue with the so called French "attitude" not even in central Paris. I suspect that this stereotype comes from the British visiting Disney.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/07/2021 18:57

A lot of places named here I really like so it’s not one size fits all. I loved Alcatraz, stand out experience from one of our holidays in the US.

For me, Los Angeles was a let down, found it really disappointing, won’t be going back.

And St Ives, but went a long time and I might give it a second chance Grin

dementedma · 22/07/2021 18:58

Glasgow. Grubby, threatening, ugly and rainy

I don’t thing Malta only has one beach Smilehttps://blog.jet2.com/best-beaches-in-malta

Pontins Camber Sands. Horrific.

Also San Francisco. Not horrific just quite boring.
