Where's somewhere you've visited but wouldn't want to go back to?

Positive and negative!

I went to Las Vegas, glad I went, but no desire to return! :)

Would never return to Warwick Castle. It's quite over rated...and not much even happened there, it just looks the part! :)

How could anyone not like the Isle of Wight? Beautiful countryside, gorgeous beaches, loads to do! Where were you, Parkhurst?

PiccalilliChilli · 22/07/2021 16:37

Oh! Yes yes to Lisbon. Hassled everywhere including during dinner to buy drugs. Apart from the custard tarts it was horrible!

MrsWidgerysLodger · 22/07/2021 16:38

Great Yarmouth, Blackpool and Bridlington. All just felt dirty and tired

Wouldn't go back to Cyprus either. We travelled round a fair bit of the island and I just felt it was all rather meh.

Loved Mexico and would go back in a heartbeat. Would love to visit Vegas but only for a day or two!

whatthehelldowecare · 22/07/2021 16:38

Hawaii... too bloody far away and not really that good

Aintgointogoa · 22/07/2021 16:39

@janj2301

I loved Japan, the only country I'd love to emigrate to
Absolutely @janj2301. I was so lucky to have been able to visit 3 times while my son was working there. We visited Kyoto twice and used to fantasise about the beautiful homes and gardens (make enough money so I can retire here and so on !) Never felt unsafe, not once. The people were lovely, the food was amazing, and I used to take myself off in Tokyo and explore all day while he was at work. It was like being on a different planet. I wouldn’t rush back to LA, the only upside I can think of is the access to amazing swathes of nature, like the Joshua Tree desert.

Runcorn not as nice as some of its neighbours.

Venice was beautiful but in no rush to go back. It didn’t help that the weather was super hot and we paid €40 for some soft drinks, so that we could sit next to a fan.

newnortherner111 · 22/07/2021 16:40

Hull.

Batsy · 22/07/2021 16:41

blackpool was ok as a one off, wouldnt feel the need to return.

nonotmenotI · 22/07/2021 16:41

Turkey

Edinburgh Christmas market

French alps

Gran Canaria

Malta.

No rush to return to any of these places.

Charlotte2020 · 22/07/2021 16:41

Bruges and Edinburgh- nice enough but after a couple of days we were kicking our heels a bit.
Australia (apart from Tasmania)- agree about the 'meh', might be because it's so far away your expectations increase!

MsTSwift · 22/07/2021 16:41

Venice not because we didn’t love it it’s so beautiful but we managed to go last summer when it was almost empty - utterly magical. Would feel sad to see it when it’s rammed friends who had gone pre 2020 said it was utterly heaving in summer.

igelkott2021 · 22/07/2021 16:41

Quite a few cities on here that I really like: Hamburg, Vienna, Copenhagen. Berlin and Dublin aren't pretty but have a lot going for them and are very interesting to visit.

I think Singapore is amazing - so much history and a melting pot of culture, but I can't deal with the climate so could only ever do it in small doses as a stopover. I imagine a lot of people see it through the fug of jet lag too.

The person who said they wouldn't go back to Leicester because of "chainmail" over the windows has clearly had a sheltered life!

WhiskeyNeverStartsToTasteNice · 22/07/2021 16:42

Broadstairs and Whitstable.

Barcelona (had bag stolen and also everything just seemed so far away from everything else. Mostly the stolen bag thing though...)

Blackpool is a shithole, as is Bridlington. Forced to go to both often as a child, didn’t really like it then and won’t be returning as an adult. Did go to Bridlington a couple of years ago and it was still a dump.

I like a lot of other places mentioned on this thread though. Thought Brighton was great, loved Prague too and always been a fan of Paris.

I agree, I think because you spend so much money to go, and for most people it's a one-off trip, you want it to be perfect and if it isn't it's that much more of a let-down. We preferred Singapore. But we only saw the environs of Perth and Sydney and there's so much more to see there.

NuckingFightmare · 22/07/2021 16:43

Benidorm. Awful

RogueMnerHidesUnderABigHat · 22/07/2021 16:43

Opps! There was more than one page 😳😳😳

Acarerformum · 22/07/2021 16:44

Best place, Seychelles amazing islands and wonderful people! We have been many times and wouldn’t hesitate to go back again and again.

igelkott2021 · 22/07/2021 16:44

Edinburgh Christmas market we loved that - better than most of the German ones!

BigSandyBalls2015 · 22/07/2021 16:45

New York. Had a good time but it's not a patch on London.

MsTSwift · 22/07/2021 16:45

Cairo is the worst place I’ve ever visited by some measure. Sexually harassed or abused by most men we walked past. Went in my twenties with a female friend. Big big mistake. They really hate women there I would never never return. Shame as the Egyptian museum is very cool.

FrancesFlute · 22/07/2021 16:47

Paignton. Thankfully only there in the centre/seafront for a few hours but it was just horrible.

Yogaposer · 22/07/2021 16:47

Madeira.... absolutely boring and there wasn't much to explore.

Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 22/07/2021 16:48

Gjakove, Kosovo
