Passport renewal

Anyone renewed a child’s passport recently? I had three weeks in my head as typical turnaround.
Just gone online to do it and it’s saying 10 weeks!

Stupidly I had missed any press saying it would be taking longer. I did mine a year ago and got it back in a week.

Any current turnaround times?

Oh @TheBuggerlugs I’m so sorry. How frustrating for you.

Did they give any indication on whether they were getting busier? There doesn’t seem to be any reason why it should take longer. I think on here about 10 days was average.

I hope you get something sorted and manage to get away.

I got mine back 5 working days after they acknowledged they received my old one. Fingers crossed won't take long

We had our app and old passport received and processing begun 6 July. Still waiting and due to fly to see relatives for first time in years next Wednesday. So stressful

I applied for my daughters on 5th July and got a text today saying it's been approved. Hopefully will arrive soon.

Just did one for one of my children. Back in three days. I was very impressed!

Mine arrived at the passport office on 14 July, approved today. Thank god cos I was on the verge of applying for an emergency one.

I renewed mine and DCs in June and it took days

In the run up to flights/travel opening up in May I missed deadline for daughters renewal and she was flying out on 3rd June, it changed from 3 weeks to 10 weeks overnight! I spoke to passport office but they can only give advice - they said they had increased it to 10 weeks as they were expecting loads of applications. So I fastracked! Cost £177 and we had to pick up from Newport - ready within 2 days. Later I renewed my sons, no pressure or need and it came back well within 3 weeks. Photo upload from local photo shop on-line renewal. This was in June. Basically you have to decide if it's worth the risk . Cost me £100 extra but the holiday cost £500 so I felt I had to do it.

The documents arrived a week ago and I’ve not heard anything yet.

It’s frustrating @TheBuggerlugs there’s such a variety of processing speeds on here. Annoying when it’s just sat with them.

Texted to say it was approved on Tuesday and it arrived in the post yesterday. It's black! Sad to see the red ones gone.

Any news from the ppl waiting passports. I sent mine 18th July - they received my passport on 22nd July. Tracking says it’s waiting to be processed.

Flights booked 12th august. 😬stupid me for not checking I have a valid passport before booking a holiday.

Would be grateful for any updates on the ppl who have applied most recently.

Passport application and posted old one SD 13th July
Old passport received 15th July
New passport approved and posted 27th July

They received my old passport on the 16th July. Just been approved today but I guess not sent out yet.

Hope those who are still eating have an update soon.
