Random, I know.

Anyone else just fancy the arse off celebrities but from years ago or even before you were born?

I have such a thing for Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears, but only in their early 80's era, specifically in the "Head Over Heels" video which would have been released when I was about two.

Also George Peppard circa 1960's and David Cassidy in the 70's (might have read too many of my mums vintage Jackie annuals in my teens.)

I'm hoping it isn't just me!

Gene Kelly, he was just lovely!

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 28/06/2021 21:52

Patrick Mcgoohan (The Prisoner)

I think that's why Portmeirion is one of my favourite places in the world.

I had a massive crush on Spencer Tracy when I was about 14 - watched everything of his I could get my hands on which wasn't so easy back in the video age.

Also Errol Flynn.

Devonchills · 28/06/2021 22:09

Burt Reynolds... I mean come on! Those eyes!

The first film I ever remember seeing at the cinema was Grease (my parents clearly didn’t have a babysitter). I was four and I was in love with John travolta from that moment on. He was later replaced in my affections by Harrison Ford.

I’ve just watched Summer Holiday snuggled up with Ds2 (14) who was having a rare affectionate moment. Cliff was a very pretty young man.

The Doors, roughly 1968. Ray Manzarek is second from the right, next to Jim Morrison.

@YouthfulIndiscretion

Twenty-something Clint Eastwood was just unsurpassed.

But for a more highbrow piece of eye candy, I give you Alain Delon in Plein Soleil, for much of which he has his shirt off. Matt Damon and Jude Law could never dream of that level of sex appeal.

I'd never heard of him before but Alain Delon is exquisite.

Loads, but particularly Paul Newman, Rock Hudson, Steve McQueen, Jim Morrison, Cat Stevens, and a young David Essex, beautiful eyes.

Clawdy · 29/06/2021 15:28

The gorgeous Chet Baker.

@Doublestar

Burt Lancaster in "from here to eternity." Also agree with Cary Grant - I remember watching "rear window" aged about 13 and thinking it was the best film I'd ever seen!
Rear Window was James Stewart not Cary Grant, so you can join me in my James Stewart love.

Not in westerns though!

earlydoors42 · 29/06/2021 15:35

Archie Brooks in classic Emmerdale. I was too young back then

seriouslystressedoutmama · 29/06/2021 15:36

Robert Redford and Paul Newman

AutistGoth · 29/06/2021 15:40

SecretWitch · 29/06/2021 15:41

Young Elvis

sfeirical · 01/07/2021 13:29

Yes,

1970s Al Pacino
1970s-1980s Bruce Springsteen

There are a lot more but I'm currently back in this phase again so they're the standout ones 🤣

AsTrueAsADogsLove · 01/07/2021 13:30

Hmm, nice thread!

The young Gregory Peck, Rock Hudson, Steve McQueen, Cary Grant and James Garner for me, please!

Then a little later: Jim Morrison, Mel Gibson, Dave Gilmore, David Bowie

AsTrueAsADogsLove · 01/07/2021 13:33

Oh, and Christopher Lee! Stunning man, at any age.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 01/07/2021 13:38

Dirk Bogarde
Michael Palin

DoucheCanoe · 01/07/2021 19:51

I get this up to a point and then the accent ruins it for me!
