Random, I know.

Anyone else just fancy the arse off celebrities but from years ago or even before you were born?

I have such a thing for Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears, but only in their early 80's era, specifically in the "Head Over Heels" video which would have been released when I was about two.

Also George Peppard circa 1960's and David Cassidy in the 70's (might have read too many of my mums vintage Jackie annuals in my teens.)

I'm hoping it isn't just me!

Oh god yes Al Pacino and a younger Robert de Nero

SundayGirl86 · 28/06/2021 20:44

Totally agree about Paul Newman - also James Garner was incredibly attractive in his day.

LittleDidSheKnow · 28/06/2021 20:46

@SundayGirl86 yes, James Garner was gorgeous in the Great Escape also.

DoingItMyself · 28/06/2021 20:48

No, I just started fancying adult men while I was very, very young. Peter Cook was gorgeous and I wanted his body. I thought that was when I was ten, but it seems I was six.

Babymamamama · 28/06/2021 20:49

Montgomery Clift - specifically when he was in The Misfits with Marilyn Monroe. I used to try to sketch his face over and over in the 80s when I was a moody teenager.

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/06/2021 20:50

@Faranth

I remember my DM waffling on about Mel Gibson. I did much teenage eye rolling thinking of lethal weapon etc...

Then I watched Mad Max Grin

Watch Mrs Soffel. Your eyeballs will pop out.
Treezan82 · 28/06/2021 20:50

Yes. Mick Jagger from 1960s and Streetcar era Marlon Brando.

StColumbofNavron · 28/06/2021 20:51

So many good ones here.

I fancy Aleksandr Pushkin, 1779-1837.

Yes Cary Grant. I actually felt quite cross / rejected when I found out he was gay, despite the fact he was already dead.

And Robert Redford.

frugalkitty · 28/06/2021 20:53

I agree with Harrison Ford.

Omar Sharif for me!

LittleDidSheKnow · 28/06/2021 20:53

Young Tony Curtis was also very lovely.

cookiecreampie · 28/06/2021 20:54

Ray Bolger from the Wizard of Oz, dead the year of my birth. I've always had this weird crush since I was young.

dancealittleclosertome · 28/06/2021 20:54

Robert Redford in The Way We Were. And Elvis Presley in King Creole.

iklboo · 28/06/2021 20:56

I fell in love with Paul Newman when I was four. Soooooo beautiful.

ParadiseLaundry · 28/06/2021 20:57

George Peppard was literally the first person who popped into my mind when I read the thread title.

Also Robert Redford

quirkychick · 28/06/2021 20:57

I watched a lot of old (mostly) black and white films when I was young, both as a child and as a student. Yy to Gregory Peck, Marlon Brando and Montgomery Clift.

Later young Robert Plant and Jim Morrison.

TragicRabbit · 28/06/2021 20:58

John Le Mesurier (he was already about 70 when I was fancying him, I was 10)
Michael Palin.
Both lovely gentle men

Helpimfalling · 28/06/2021 20:58

Christopher Walken (I know I know) it's the voice

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/06/2021 21:00

Look at this god surrounded by mere mortals. I've loved him for decades.

Unfortunately he was pretty dreadful as a person but he's dead so it's not an issue any more.

I'm glad it isn't just me!

Wow, so many of these I can totally relate to. Paul Newman is definitely one of the beautiful people.

And Mel Gibson. He's gone to rack and ruin now but when he was younger... Wink

Christopher Walken (I know I know) it's the voice
Oh yes. I wouldn't say no to a bit of Walken!

Sigourney Weaver in the first two alien films. I don't know whether I fancied her or wanted to be her. Maybe a bit of both.
