Random, I know.

Anyone else just fancy the arse off celebrities but from years ago or even before you were born?

I have such a thing for Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears, but only in their early 80's era, specifically in the "Head Over Heels" video which would have been released when I was about two.

Also George Peppard circa 1960's and David Cassidy in the 70's (might have read too many of my mums vintage Jackie annuals in my teens.)

I'm hoping it isn't just me!

I’m not sure if that attached, it was just a very youthful looking pre beard Marx!

Lee Marvin
Clint Eastwood
Morten Harket
I was born in the earlier half of the 80s

This thread is reminding me of my mum who would speak longingly about so many of the names mentioned.

I loved Saturday afternoons when we’d be at my grans and we’d all watch the Saturday film on bbc 2.

Happy days

AirEngland · 28/06/2021 21:08

I can still remember the horrible moment it dawned on me that I probably wouldn’t marry Timothy Dalton. I was 11 and he was 47. It still makes me sad Grin

I’d noticed that Joe Biden was hot when young before, but Jesus. That photo of him in the red shirt…

YouthfulIndiscretion · 28/06/2021 21:10

Twenty-something Clint Eastwood was just unsurpassed.

But for a more highbrow piece of eye candy, I give you Alain Delon in Plein Soleil, for much of which he has his shirt off. Matt Damon and Jude Law could never dream of that level of sex appeal.

Can’t believe no one has said Dave Gilmore from Pink Floyd

Absolutely gorgeous man. Those eyes. Those cheekbones. The smile... Mmmm...

I was going to mention him too but thought I may come across as fancying anything in pants as I've already mentioned several others!

I even fancy Dave as a old man actually.

This is my favourite photo of Sid (it's my phone screensaver🤣)

Patrick swazye in dirty dancing. I'm 25 and when I first watched that film about 13 years old I really wondered why my mum was referring to him as 'a dish'. But I really get it now... That's how I know I'm growing up!

quirkychick · 28/06/2021 21:14

Also, young Tony Curtis, Lawrence Olivier. As a child I used to love Errol Flynn, James Mason, Yul Brynner.

Marc Bolan to add to Jim Morrison and Robert Plant.

Agreed. He is the only celebrity who I actually cried my eyes out when I heard he died. He always seemed like he had a good soul too, a gentleness about him or something. Dirty dancing is such an iconic film. Have you seen him in Roadhouse? And of course Point Break? Phwoar!

anguauberwaldironfoundersson · 28/06/2021 21:17

Jim Morrison. Oh yes

The calibre of celebrity men has definitely decreased over the last twenty or so years.

inmyslippers · 28/06/2021 21:20

Harry belafonte. Heart breaker and womaniser

Harrison Ford in all the Indiana Jones films.

Jimmy Stuart in it's a wonderful life.

Gene Kelly in anything.

Micheal Douglas in Romancing the stone.

David Bowie in Labyrinth

OneEpisode · 28/06/2021 21:24

Kirk Douglas, born 1916, or Sir Dirk Bogarde (1921, and probably gay).

Omg yes definitely Dirk Bogarde
quirkychick · 28/06/2021 21:28

Yy to young David Gilmore and George Harrison (known as my mum's favourite Beatle Grin - good taste, mum).

Paul Newman.

What a man

AutistGoth · 28/06/2021 21:46

I refer to Jim Morrison as my dead boyfriend and I am not sorry. Smile

Also, Ray Manzarek: the organist of The Doors. He was a talented pianist and a good husband, father and grandfather who had time for everyone. Even as an elder gent, he was quite attractive. Sadly, his one flaw was that he was a chain smoker and it tragically killed him. I'll miss him forever.
