Posting here for traffic as well as on the money board

I'm in a bit of a bind this month due to some unexpected things- next month is predicted to be much easier. I could do with a couple of hundred of pounds this month to tide me over. I have no relatives or friends who can help and am in the process of joining clickerworker/starting a second job
Please can anyone advise of the best and easiest place to get a payday loan it's been a headache trying to look for one today

@ElsaMars oh really didn't know that sorry.

Sleeplessem · 28/06/2021 19:26

Also @dryasaboner if this happens often. Have a think about opening a monzo account, one of the features is you can get your salary 4 days ahead of actually getting paid.

Just watch you don’t lose your card, I think they charge for replacements x

Chicchicchicchiclana · 28/06/2021 19:33

Why do you need a couple of hundred to tide you over until Friday? Confused. You say you've got food. I don't get it.

Bythemillpond · 28/06/2021 19:34

If you have food in the cupboard, £10 in the bank snd all your bills are paid why would you take out a pay day loan just in case something happens.

sallywinter · 28/06/2021 19:37

There’s LOADS of houses selling before June 30th (because of end of stamp duty relief)- if you advertised on local fb groups I bet you could get a couple of big cleaning jobs.

You could also offer your services helping to pack. Lots of people haven’t been able to find pros because of the demand.

Littlelegs2 · 28/06/2021 19:38

@dryasaboner

I've got an extra job but doesn't start for a couple of weeks - sold all I can at the beginning of the year. Had a bloody ding in my car which has cost me the excess and I've got ten pounds in my bank until Friday We have food so it's all good in that way just in case anything crops up in the next few days
So today is at an end. So you only have 3 days to go . With 10.00 in your bank . You have food gas/electric. So it seems a non issue really. There are people who won't be eating Tonight because they truly are struggling.
Flobbertybillop · 28/06/2021 19:41

Op, if you have food and a tenner, stop worrying about what might happen. Some of us have less than that.

dryasaboner · 28/06/2021 19:42

@Eviethyme

I'm also confused why your trying to get money if you have food and get paid on Friday :S sounds like your wanting a handout from here...

Anything else that crops up will either use that £10 or have to wait til Friday surely... I've got food but only £4 in my account and get paid on Friday, I'm not making a thread about it sorry I'm just confused

I'm really not interested what you think the purpose of my thread is tbh- I can't even access my pms on here so that wouldn't be very fruitful if I was on the beg

Fucking hell OP no wonder you're up shit creek financially if you think you NEED a £200 payday loan 'just in case' for three days. Hmm

dryasaboner · 28/06/2021 19:45

@titchy the last few months the most ridiculous things have cropped up literally putting me on my arse financially

However thank you so much those who suggested a credit union- I had heard of them but had no idea what they were for before today. There is one that is available for members of my union to join and it looks fantastic

ExhaustedFlamingo · 28/06/2021 19:46

OP - you haven't answered - why do you need a couple of hundred pounds from a payday lender "just in case"? You have food and a roof over your head and you get paid in 4 days.

Is there something you haven't told us?

Songoftheseas · 28/06/2021 19:50

My first port of call would be the bank to arrange an emergency overdraft. However, like other posters have said, if you have bills covered, enough food and a little cash you should be fine for just a few days.

Apologies if I missed this on the thread but do you have DC? Even with food in I wouldn’t be happy about having such a small amount of cash available, in case of emergencies. An overdraft would be ideal to have in case you need it - failing that try and sell anything of value that you don’t strictly need? Do you have an old iPad/tablet or mobile phone that you could take to CEX for quick cash? Any old jewellery to scrap? You would be amazed how much even old broken chains etc can fetch as scrap.

As someone else suggested you could offer your services to do cleaning or gardening?

But you have nothing you need to spend money on, and STILL you think you need to waste hundreds on a payday loan.

If that if your attitude to budgeting then sort it out - you are literally pissing £thousands away living like that.

Then next time something unexpected crops up you'll be able to deal with it without getting down to the bones of your arse.

CallMeNutribullet · 28/06/2021 19:52

OP having a tenner or under in the bank a few days before payday has been me most of my working life so I've no idea why you feel you need to get a payday loan.

Of course if you feel you need it crack on. I wouldn't be paying as much as I'd borrowed in interest for a safety buffer 3 days before payday. That suggests you have serious money management issues

StillWaters77 · 28/06/2021 19:52

No advice except Payday will negatively affect credit records even though they're paid off.

Songoftheseas · 28/06/2021 19:53

Should have added above, PLEASE avoid payday loans or the like. Anything is better than those. I wouldn’t take out a credit card either as those are the work of the devil (speaking from personal experience).

AbsolutelyPatsy · 28/06/2021 19:55

op is going for credit union loan.
nothing else to say now imo

5128gap · 28/06/2021 20:03

Go on the money advice service website. Theres a link to finance finder which gives alternatives to payday loans and also information on how to safeguard yourself as much as possible if you do end up going down that route.

beigebrownblue · 28/06/2021 20:11

This is not going to help right this second but I joined a credit union to rebuild my credit rating. You can join for one pound and after saving minimal amounts can borrow for unexpected expenses. Mine also lend against child benefit. See here
www.westcountry.org.uk/Loans

beigebrownblue · 28/06/2021 20:12

on the page I posted they compare to pay day lenders half the price

do try them.

good luck

beigebrownblue · 28/06/2021 20:19

well done for sorting this, and don't take any notice of lectures, shit happens and you are dealing with it.

Noname1999 · 28/06/2021 20:22

Talk to your local credit union

Derbee · 28/06/2021 20:25

Have you read the FT??

OP is wanting a payday loan to get her £200 for 4 days, “just in case”. How does this warrant a well done? It’s a bizarre and unnecessary idea.

GreyhoundG1rl · 28/06/2021 20:28

Ridiculous thread.

I get paid on Friday, I have enough food to last until then, but I need £200 to sit in my account in case something crops up in the meantime...

Thewiseoneincognito · 28/06/2021 20:32

DO. NOT. USE. PAYDAY. LOANS.

They’re a black hole that are incredibly hard to get out of.
