Good, why has it taken this long.

OP posts:
BlueSurfer · 26/06/2021 19:27

Not if his constituency party deselects him which looks very likely.

I hope they do.

braceletsandbangles · 26/06/2021 19:27

@MaMelon

Wonder who leaked the pics

I imagine the hand of Cummings was involved somewhere along the way.

Most definitely.
Blossomtoes · 26/06/2021 19:27

Nah, Murdoch will never turn on the Tories.

The Sun backed Blair in 1997.

Totallydefeated · 26/06/2021 19:27

Of course he needs to go, but it’s concerning that he was caught on a spy camera. Who put that there, and why? And how were they able to?

This needs to be answered, not buried under the salacious details.

Also - what is this meant to distract us from noticing?

I really hope someone has given the number of a decent lawyer to Mrs H and Gina's husband too.

Heronsnest · 26/06/2021 19:31

No way should he have been allowed to resign.
Boris has let Hancock's victims down, again.
Hoping his constituents throw him into touch.

LadyPoison · 26/06/2021 19:31

Good riddance

He was well out of his depth and should have been replaced a year ago

This is also a thing.

How did it get there and how did it get out? What else did it record? What’s been going on since it was recorded in May that it took so long to come out?

BarbarianMum · 26/06/2021 19:31

@Bagamoyo1 well said

longwayoff · 26/06/2021 19:32

I'm curious about the CCTV. We assume that its par for the course in Downing St? Maybe that's what assisted Mr Johnson in resolving his previously very messy marital situation so speedily this time round.

Benjispruce3 · 26/06/2021 19:32

Those of us who make these rules have to follow them. Not shit! How about your marriage vows? Posh Tory scum.

Rosehip10 · 26/06/2021 19:32

@Totallydefeated Is wasn't a "spy camera" Hmm It was the normal building cctv

Unsure33 · 26/06/2021 19:32

@Bagamoyo1

I agree - if every minister Labour or Conservative resigned that had had affairs then we would probably have no one in power.

this was to do with him telling us the rules and then breaking them.

I think his wife so far is behaving impeccably considering the
OW ( she is just as bad ) was supposed to be her friend. I feel sorry for the children involved .

I didn’t think it was.

Kentuki · 26/06/2021 19:36

Just on first glance, her husband is obviously very successful, creative, handsome.... and she’s traded him in for Matt Hancock??!!!???

This is absolutely the point of public interest now. Why is there a camera in a minister's office which he did not know about? That is a massive security concern.

That’s all it took for them to be in power for 13 years. 🤷‍♀️

newnortherner111 · 26/06/2021 19:36

He should have been sacked. Hopelessly out of his depth. His boss Mr Johnson I would be happy to see in prison.

Getawaywithit · 26/06/2021 19:37

if everyone who had broken a rule or had a bit on the side was sacked there wouldn't be many left working.I don't like the way he was spied on and exposed either. That wouldn't be tolerated in the wider working world

If you are going to do a job that involves telling others what to do, the least you can do is practise what you preach.

The photo was apparently taken at the Department of Health. It's not like he wouldn't have had an office with blinds he could have shut. Nor is it the case that he couldn't have had her leave before/after him. If anything, the whole thing stinks of a man who thought he'd just be stupid enough to give himself sufficient rope to hang himself so he never has to be held accountable for all the other shit he did.

If his poor wife is a mumsnetter, LTB, get a good lawyer and take him for every fucking penny he has. And whilst you're at it, sell your story to the highest bidder and make sure you take down the rest of 'em with him. (((hugs)))

Yeah it happens both ways all the time. People routinely cheat on their partners with people who to the outside world appear to be less of a catch(im not sure how else to say that).

Just read any of the countless threads on here about it.

MercyBooth · 26/06/2021 19:38

His wife has gorgeous red hair.

Not entirely relevant but that's not how attraction works, we know nothing about the personalities of either of the men or the status of their marriages
NeverFull · 26/06/2021 19:42
@Totallydefeated Is wasn't a "spy camera" Hmm It was the normal building cctv
Nope, not in the private rooms. It was most likely a camera positioned in a fire sprinkler.

VaguelyInteresting · 26/06/2021 19:44

It’s being reported now that he told his wife he was leaving her, hence leaving her out of the apology.

Poor woman.
